ABSTRACT The film, It’s a Boy Girl Thing, is one of the literary works that may give us perspective on physical differences between man and woman, on masculine and feminine characters, and the differences in gender roles. In this thesis the writer identifies and analyses about physical exchange between Woody Deane and Nell Bedworth using gender approach. The writer identifies that the physical exchange between Woody Deane and Nell Bedworth is caused by two factors, there are conflict and curse from the ancient statue of Aztecs Texcatlapoca. After the physical exchange, adaptation in the body of the opposite sex becomes a very important thing. The result depicts about adaption in both characters. The result of analysis also reveals the important messages that It’s a Boy Girl Thing may deliver. The message is to appreciate gender differences of being man and woman.

ABSTRAK
Film ini, It’s a Boy Girl Thing, merupakan salah satu bentuk karya sastra yang dapat memberikan gambaran kepada kita mengenai perbedaan antara pria dan wanita secara fisik, karakter maskulin dan feminin, serta perbedaan peran gender. Dalam skripsi ini penulis mengidentifikasi dan menganalisa mengenai pertukaran fisik antara Woody Deane dan Nell Bedworth menggunakan pendekatan gender. Penulis mengidentifikasi bahwa pertukaran fisik antara Woody Deane dan Nell Bedworth disebabkan karena dua factor, yaitu konflik dan kutukan dari patung Actezs Textaclapoca. Setelah pertukaran fisik, adaptasi pada tubuh lawan jenis menjadi sangat penting. Hasil dari analisa menunjukkan tentang adaptasi pada kedua karakter. Selanjutnya, hasil dari analisa menunjukkan bahwa It’s a Boy Girl Thing mempunyai pesan yang penting untuk diketahui. Pesan yang ingin disampaikan adalah untuk menghargai perbedaan gender sebagai pria dan wanita.
