FETE The CIDHS P&C are proud to announce that the Fete/Auction held last weekend raised over $35,000! A very large thank you to the community and businesses who have supported our school community in achieving such an amazing milestone. Our corporate sponsors this year included the Cocos Co-op, Toll Remote Logistics, Island Petroleum, Shamrocks, the CKI Shire, IOTT, Hambleys IGA, and Cocos Autos. Thanks to all the teachers and staff at the school for their efforts and special thanks to the dedicated P&C team for all their hard work in supporting our school. Staffing On behalf of everyone associated with the school I’d like to thank Heather Prance for her dedication and commitment to students at CIDHS over many years. We wish you all the very best for an exciting and enjoyable trip to Vietnam before starting at Corrigin DHS 2017. Mrs Powell will join our staff as WI Campus Manager, Monday November 14. Ms Sagar will be in her role for the first 5 weeks of term 4 – Mrs Bloomfield will teach high school English. This is an exciting opportunity for Ms Sagar and I’m sure she will receive great support from our school community. Mrs Cahill (Mak Jordan) will be the Campus Manager at HI for term 4. Mrs Nicole Murphy will join the staff for ten weeks working as an English as an Additional Language specialist. Mrs Murphy will work predominantly at HI campus. New West Island School Starting Times - Term 4 Start of school day: 8am Recess: 10 – 10.30am Lunch: 12.30 – 1pm End of school: 2.20pm New Home Island Friday Lunch Break Time - Term 4 All students attending HI campus will break for lunch every Friday between 12 – 12.45pm. All other times remain the same. End of Term Thank you to staff, students and parents for your efforts throughout a busy term. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful two-week break. Students return to school Tuesday 11th October.
JUAL-JUALAN SEKOLAH P&C CIDHS dengan bangga mengumumkan jual-jualan sekolah yang baru saja diadakan pada minggu yang lewat mendapatkan hasil sebanyak $35,000. Kami ingin mengucapkan terima kasi kepada semua masyarakat dan juga bisnis-bisnis yang telah memberi sokongan untuk mendapatkan hasil seperti ini. Sponsor-sponsor kita tahun ini termasuk Kongsi Pulu Cocos, Toll Remote Logistics, Island Petroleum, Shamrocks, CKI Shire, IOTT, Hambleys IGA, dan Cocos Autos. Guru-Guru Saya wakil dari sekolah ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasi kepada Heather Prance diatas kerja kerasnya terhadap semua murid-murid diskolah disepanjang tahun dia berada disini. Kami ingin mengucapkan yang terbaik untuk dia dan semoga cutinya di Vietnam berjalan dengan baik sebelum dia mulai bekerja di Corigin DHS 2017. Taim yang lain akan tetap sama. Penghujung Tem Terima kasi kepada guru-guru, murid-murid dan ibu/bapak diatas sokongan anda semua dimasa tem yang sibuk. COCOS (KEELING) ISLANDS – LIVE EMERGENCY EXERCISE Wednesday 28 September On Wednesday, 28th September 2016 from 9am to 11am, the Cocos (Keeling) Island Emergency
Management Committee (EMC) will participate in an emergency exercise designed to test procedures and capability related to cyclone preparedness.
The exercise will include emergency services workers simulating an evacuation of residential areas
and delivering cyclone awareness information. Live information will be shared via radio and loud speakers and broadcasts will be made over VHF channel 20.
The EMC is required to test CKI’s emergency plans once per year, including a live exercise every second year. Participation in this exercise is designed to meet this requirement and ensure
operational procedures, communications and support arrangements are appropriate for all emergency situations.
A briefing will be conducted for participants at 8:30am on 28 September at both the West Island and Home Island cyclone shelters. All residents are welcome to attend.

Pada Rabu, 28hb Sembilan 2016 dari pukul 9:00-11:00 pagi, yang Komiti Emergency Pulu Cocos akan jalankan latihan di dalam emergency untuk menguji perjalanan dan kemampuan yang terkait dengan kesiapan siklon.
Latihan ini akan termasok orang-orang yang kerja di badan emergency yang akan jalankan acara mengondang penduduk dan memberikan informasi siklon. Informasi langsung akan dibagikan melalui radio dan di speaker dan siaran akan dilakukan melalui VHF channel 20.
EMC diperlukan untuk menguji rencana di Pulu Cocos satu tahun sekali, termasuk latihan Langsung
(live) setiap tahun kedua. Orang-orang dalam latihan ini dirancang untuk mereti di dalam operasi ini dan memastikan lakuan operasi, komunikasi dan pembantuan pengaturan yang tepat untuk semua di dalam emergency.
Mitingan akan dilakukan untuk peserta pada pukul 8:30 pagi pada 28 hb Sembilan di Pulu Panjang dan di Home Island Rumah Siklon. Semua penduduk di silahkan boleh datang.
