a. bahwa dalam rangka penyampaian berbagai obyek wisata kepada wisatawan asing diperlukan adanya peningkatan kapasitas petugas pemandu wisata; b. bahwa untuk peningkatan pengetahuan keterampilan bahasa inggris pemandu wisata sebagaimana diktum a, perlu diselenggarakan Diklat English For Guide; c.
Mengingat :
bahwa untuk tercapainya tujuan pada diktum a dan b, perlu ditetapkan kurikulum diklat dengan Keputusan Kepala Pusat Diklat Kehutanan.

Peraturan Menteri Kehutanan No. P.20/Menhut-II/2004 tanggal 15 Desember 2004 tentang Pedoman Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Kehutanan; 3. Peraturan Menteri Kehutanan No. P.13/Menhut-II/2004 tanggal 6 Mei 2005 tentang Organisasi dan Tata Kerja Departemen Kehutanan serta peraturan-peraturan tentang perubahannya; MEMUTUSKAN

: KEPUTUSAN KEPALA PUSAT PENDIDIKAN DAN PELATIHAN KEHUTANAN TENTANG KURIKULUM DIKLAT ENGLISH FOR GUIDE PERTAMA..............

: Kurikulum Diklat English For Guide sebagaimana terlampir merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari keputusan ini.
KEDUA
: Kurikulum sebagaimana diktum PERTAMA digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menyelenggarakan Diklat English For Guide di lingkup Kementerian Kehutanan.
KETIGA
: Dengan ditetapkannya keputusan ini maka keputusan Kepala Pusat Diklat Kehutanan Nomor SK. 93/DIK-2/2006 tanggal 29 Juni 2006 tentang Kurikulum English For Guide dinyatakan tidak berlaku lagi;
KEEMPAT
: Keputusan ini berlaku sejak tanggal ditetapkan dan apabila di kemudian hari ternyata terdapat kekeliruan dalam penetapannya akan diubah dan diperbaiki sebagaimana mestinya.

3. Background of the Course Guiding the visitors in every National Parks is an important activity. It could be concluded that the demand of holding English Course for the staff and personnel in the National Parks, The Ministry of Forestry, has been really high and urgently need to be soon executed. Nowadays, on term of anticipating the increase number of National park’s visitors, it is quite important to develop the personnel’s English Language skills. 4. Brief description of the course The course will help participants to be ready to guide visitors, especially foreigners. They will learn a lot about foreign culture, technical words in forestry, and good dictionaries. They also study about grammar and apply contextual grammar, practice gambits in conversation in tourist guidance, and improve their speaking skill. Finally, they must demonstrate their ability in speaking practice in the field. Participatif methode is used in learning process. participants will be given in written and spoken test.

Objectives Realising the background mentioned above, the objectives of this course is to widen the tourist guides in the National Park and provide help for the personnel’s English language skills improvement. 6. Target of the Course /Specific Curriculum Objectives: By the end of this Course The Participants are able to : a. Behave and perform their attitude in social acceptable manner as a good government officials b. Interpret western people using body language in conversation and western culture
c. Determine forestry technical vocabulary and their part of speech, and they are able to utter the vocabularies with received pronunciation and stress d. Express ideas with acceptable tenses in simple, compound, complex, compound-complex sentences. e. Use the gambits in their utterances f. Construct varied structure sentences with acceptable and understandable sentences/expressions g. Guide tourist in visiting the area in / around the National Park. 7. The target of the participants a. Class capacitiy : Maximum 30 people b. Requirements : the staff and the tourist guides who directly face the visitors in national the park. 8. Facilitators : a. Requirement: - Master the English language well - Have background knowledge of English language competence - Have the ability to recognize and to assist the participants’ needs both as a class and individual in their language competence - Have high commitment to assist learning - Have experience in teaching English and have capability to choose and present class materials - Have the ability to evaluate the individual participants’ progress and assist remedy b. Institution : - Widyaiswara from the Centre for Education and Training of Forestry Official/Forestry Training Centre. - English Lecturers from other institutions. 9. Place of the course - Centre for education and training of forestry officials - Other places for field study/field trip. 10. Duration of the course The duration of the course is 10 working days totalling 82 lesson hours.
