Welcome Dear congress delegates,
The financial world is experiencing dramatic changes as a result of low interest rates, high regulatory requirements and a trend towards digitization.
Proven deposit-based business models are now suffering from the zero interest rate policy of the ECB, and new regulatory initiatives disproportionately affect small and low-risk credit institutions. At the same time, shadow banks and fintech companies operate largely outside the regulatory regime. The European Commission is pushing forward the project for a Capital Markets Union. It aims to direct more private savings into riskier capital markets. Loan financing through deposit-based institutions, which is so important for Europe, could be weakened further.
Europe needs competitive credit institutions – now and in the future. They are necessary for sustainable economic growth and prosperity, and they are indispensable for social cohesion. We want to discuss with you whether the current developments are conducive to this aim. Will they really help to create a “brave new” financial world? Program for accompanying persons While the delegates attend the business program, accompanying persons are invited to explore the sights of Budapest on 20 October 2016. Two options are available: A) A visit to the Castle District You get up to the Castle hill by cable car and take a walk around to see the most interesting sights of Budapest's Castle District, which is packed with historic sights and attractions such as the Royal Palace Matthias Church, medieval houses, with interesting museums, charming, crooked streets following the shape of the hill as well as some good cafés and restaurants. Besides the monuments, the place offers a breathtaking panorama of the Danube with the Chain Bridge and the Pest side of the city on the opposite side of the river. The tour starts from the congress hotel at 10:00 and ends with a light lunch. Comfortable footwear is recommended. B) A visit of the Parliament Building The Hungarian Parliament Building, also known as the Parliament of Budapest for being located in that city, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the highest building in Budapest. The construction of the building started in 1885. About one thousand people were involved in construction, during which 40 million bricks, half a million precious stones and 40 kilograms (88 lb) of gold were used. The building was inaugurated on the 1000th anniversary of the country in 1896, and completed in 1904. The tour starts from the congress Hotel at 9.30 and ends with a light lunch.

Köszöntő Tisztelt Résztvevők és Vendégek!
Az alacsony kamatok, a szigorú szabályozói követelmények és az ügyintézés egyre nagyobb mértékű digitalizálása napjainkban a pénzügyi világ mélyreható változásait eredményezi.
A bevált betétalapú üzleti konstrukciók komoly gondokkal küzdenek az Európai Központi Bank nulla kamatpolitikája miatt és a szabályozói intézkedések aránytalan mértékben sújtják a kis és alacsony kockázatú hitelintézeteket. Ezzel egyidejűleg az árnyékbankok és pénzügyi technológiai cégek gyakorlatilag a szabályozói kereteken kívül működnek. Ráadásul fennáll a veszélye annak, hogy az Európai Bizottság által szorgalmazott tőkepiaci unió gyengíti az európai hitelfinanszírozásban fontos szerepet játszó betétalapú pénzintézeteket azáltal, hogy a megtakarítási célú betéteket fokozottan a kockázatosabb tőkepiacokra akarja terelni. Európának a jövőben is szüksége lesz versenyképes hitelintézetekre, amelyek biztosítják a tartós gazdasági növekedést, a jólétet és feltétlenül szükségesek a szociális biztonság érdekében. A kongresszus célja, hogy elindítsa a párbeszédet arról, hogy a jelenlegi folyamatok kedvezően befolyásolják-e ezeket a célokat vagy elképzelhető, hogy hatásukra mégsem lesz olyan „szép és új” a pénzvilág?

Választható keretprogram a kongresszus résztvevőit kísérő vendégek számára Kérjük a résztvevőket, hogy részvételi szándékuk rögzítésekor válasszanak az alábbi kísérő személyek számára szóló két program közül: A) Séta a várnegyedben A jelentkezők a budavári siklóval mennek fel a várnegyedbe, ahol gyalogosan tekintik meg a fontosabb nevezetességeket a Bécsi kaputól a Szent György térig. A Várhegyet hallva sokan csak a királyi palotára gondolnak, pedig a történelem során többször teljesen megsemmisült, nagyrészt barokk stílusú várnegyed ennél sokkal több érdekességet is kínál. A Mátyás templom megtekintése természetesen része a sétának. A résztvevők 10.00 órakor indulnak a kongresszusi szállodából. A program egy könnyű ebéddel zárul. A résztvevőknek kényelmes lábbeli viselete ajánlott B) Parlamenti látogatás A 268 méter hosszú országház a brit parlament épületének, a Westminster-palotának a mintájára épült neogótikus stílusban Steindl Imre tervei alapján. Az építkezésen, amely 1885-ben kezdődött, körülbelül 1000 munkás összesen több mint 40 millió követ, ebből mintegy félmillió drágakövet és 40 kilogramm aranyat használt fel. Az építkezés az 1896-os millenniumi ünnepségek keretében lezajlott megnyitót követően még 1904-ig tartott. A résztvevők 9.30 órakor indulnak a kongresszusi szállodából. A program egy könnyű ebéddel zárul.

Grußwort Sehr geehrte Kongressteilnehmerinnen und Kongressteilnehmer,
in der Finanzwelt erleben wir derzeit einschneidende Veränderungen durch niedrige Zinsen, hohe regulatorische Anforderungen und den Trend zur Digitalisierung.
Bewährte einlagenbasierte Geschäftsmodelle leiden unter der Nullzinspolitik der Europäischen Zentralbank und regulatorische Vorhaben treffen unverhältnismäßig stark kleine und risikoarme Kreditinstitute. Gleichzeitig bewegen sich Schattenbanken und Fintechs weitestgehend außerhalb der Regulatorik. Zudem droht die von der Europäischen Kommission lancierte Kapitalmarktunion die in Europa so bedeutsame Kreditfinanzierung durch einlagenbasierte Institute zu schwächen, indem sie Spareinlagen verstärkt in die riskanteren Kapitalmärkte lenken will. Europa wird auch in Zukunft wettbewerbsfähige Kreditinstitute brauchen. Sie garantieren eine nachhaltig wachsende Wirtschaft, Wohlstand und sind für die soziale Sicherheit unverzichtbar. Der Kongress soll zur Diskussion anregen, ob die gegenwärtigen Entwicklungen hierfür förderlich sind. Oder wird durch sie die Finanzwelt doch nicht so „schön und neu“?

Programm für Begleitpersonen Während die Kongressteilnehmer die Fachveranstaltungen besuchen, haben die Begleitpersonen die Möglichkeit, an einer dieser beiden Exkursionen in Budapest teilzunehmen. Jede Exkursion endet mit einem leichten Mittagessen. A) Besuch des Burgviertels Sie gelangen mit der Standseilbahn auf den Burgberg und besichtigen dort zu Fuß die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Burgviertel (ungarisch: Várnegyed) auf dem Burgberg in der ungarischen Hauptstadt Budapest ist wohl eine ihrer großen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Obwohl es zweimal fast vollständig zerstört wurde, konnte es bis in die heutige Zeit bestehen. Das Viertel entstand aus dem alten Budaer Stadtkern, welcher sich vom Wiener Tor bis hin zum Szent György tér erstreckt. Das Burgviertel Vár ist ein Teil des I. Stadtbezirkes Budapests. Die Gebäude des Burgviertels sind überwiegend im barocken Stil erbaut worden. Die meisten Touristen assoziieren mit dem Burgberg nur den Burgpalast. Aber das Burgviertel hat noch viele andere interessante Orte und Plätze. So unter anderem die Matthiaskirche. Die Tour startet um 10.00 Uhr vom Kongresshotel aus und endet mit einem leichten Mittagessen. Bequemes Schuhwerk wird empfohlen. B) Besichtigung des Parlamentsgebäudes Das Parlamentsgebäude ist der Sitz des ungarischen Parlaments in Budapest. Das 268 Meter lange, direkt am Donauufer gelegene Gebäude ist eines der Wahrzeichen Budapests. Als Vorbild diente der Palace of Westminster, Sitz des britischen Parlaments in London. Architekt des im neogotischen Stil errichteten Gebäudes war Imre Steindl. Mit dem Bau des Parlaments begann man 1885. Etwa 1.000 Arbeiter waren die nächsten Jahre damit beschäftigt, über 40 Millionen Steine, darunter eine halbe Million Schmucksteine, für das Bauwerk aufeinanderzuschichten. Des Weiteren wurden etwa 40 Kilogramm Gold verwendet. Eröffnet wurde das Gebäude 1896 zu den Millenniumsfeierlichkeiten, aber endgültig abgeschlossen wurden die Bauarbeiten erst im Jahre 1904. Die Tour beginnt um 9.30 Uhr am Kongresshotel und endet mit einem leichten Mittagessen.
