By means of the charity objectives of the Brussels Hungarian Ball the Foundation "Minden gyerek lakjon jól!" ("No Child Should Go Hungry!") intends to provide support to children and their families in form of a mini-farming aid. This method guarantee long-term self-sustainability. Children in the families will be fed thanks to the planted vegetables and the raised farm animals financed by the donations offered before or during the event. The Foundation "No Child Should Go Hungry!", an autonomous citizen initiative established in 2009 to support children in the most deprived regions of Hungary by providing sufficient protein and vitamin for their families. The support system with its alternative grassroots approach is highly innovative. The children and their families are in the focus with an extensive social cooperation. Implementing this approach also implies that the aid that we, contributors provide, are not direct subsidies, the families do not receive financial aid in cash. The ambitious plan is to involve another 30000 families in 2013 "Minden gyerek lakjon jól!" in the support programme. One mini-farm costs 50€ and would mean the start-up support for the families with deprived children in the various regions of Hungary to be able to continue farming in a sustainable way. Private donations are accepted, but no state support. The activity is based on an extended network of volunteers, the money received is used only for the children supported. www.mindengyereklakjonjol.hu IBAN: HU23 1179 4008 2053 4156 0000 0000 BIC OTPVHUHB

SIMPLE - Az egyszerűen nagyszerű zenekar! A Simple Zenekar több évtizedes zenei múlttal rendelkező tagokkal, 2009-ben alakult a jelenlegi felállásban. A zenekar tagjai: Dr. Kovács Júlia – ének, vokál; Tiborcz Zsófia – ének, vokál; Racskó Kristóf – ének, vokál; Kalina Zoltán – gitár; Laukó Levente – billentyű; Hegyi Bence – ütős hangszerek; Sándor Zoltán – technikus Arslonga Duo Julia and Attila found each other 2 years ago. Their first love was Argentine tango which was a good way to express emotion and passion on stage. Then Julia joined Experidance Production (Attila already worked there) where they could use their acrobatic skills on stage and in the air with silks (tissue). After that they worked on Color Fantasy (Color Line, Norwegian cruise company) which was a good experience and routine in acrobatic adagio.
Huszárok - Hussars ,,In fire and blood, burning in his bravery, out of a thousand fights, the Hungarian Hussar once road ride to heaven'' Thanks to Csaba Sógor, MEP, RMDSZ, EPP Group, members of the Association of Hussars of Erdőszentgyörgy will be present at the ball. Please welcome: István Báthori and István Attila László Erdőszentgyörgyi huszárok - 1892 The 6th Württemberg Hussar regiment was reestablished in 2009 with the overall aim – being true to our traditions – to go on parade on the occasions of national holidays and welcome the highest guests in the city of Erdöszentgyörgy and other settlements. Among its goals has been especially declared the reaffirming of the Hungarian Hussar traditions. Our uniform the Württemberg Hussar Officer uniform of 1848 emphasises that mission as well. Each piece of his authentic reproduction of an 1848 Hussar’s uniform is prepared to the detail.
A huszár nem csupán fegyvernem, hanem teljes emberi létezésmód. A legtisztább, erkölcsös életű, hazugságot, idegenmajmolást nem tűr. Saját értékeit, szabadságát becsülő ember.
Szeklerland at the Ball — Székelyföld a Bálon Szeklerland is a well-defined historical and ethnographical area of the central region of Romania. Between 1437 and 1876 the historical Szeklerland was formed of five districts: Udvarhelyszék, Csíkszék, Háromszék, Marosszék and Aranyosszék. Between 1952 and 1960 Szeklerland formed the Autonomous Hungarian Province then the Maros Autonomous Hungarian Province. Nowadays it refers to the territories of Hargita and Kovászna counties as well as to those parts of Maros County, which are mainly inhabited by Hungarian population.
From an ethnical point of view, the Szeklers represent a group of population, whose members possess special historical consciousness as well as linguistic and ethnographical features due to their special social status and border guard duty in the past. On the grounds of the spoken language, they consider themselves Hungarians. The savory Szekler kitchen melts all the gastronomic tradition of neighboring nations.
Two székely couples from Hargita and Kovászna Counties will be present at the Brussels Hungarian Ball and introduce regional specialisites to Ball guests. Please welcome: Lehel Dombora, Ágnes Dálnoki from Hargita Zsolt Iochom and Hajnal Réthi from Kovászna.

Ladies and Gentlemen! The Brussels Hungarian Ball, with its two decades of tradition, is one of the most prestigious events on the social scene of Brussels and is of particular importance for the Hungarian community in Belgium. The objective of this ceremonial evening is to promote our national traditions, cultural values and to continue the splendid legacy and elegancy of past Grand Balls. Grand Balls became popular first during the reign of Louis XIV in the French court, but other nations of Europe soon followed the initiative of the Roi Soleil filling the dance floors of European courts. Similarly to other forms of aristocratic customs, Balls gradually became popular amongst middle class, too. Even during troubled times in our history, the aspiration for balls has not disappeared. Instead the practice of donating the funds raised at balls towards worthy causes had emerged. As such, the main motivation behind modern balls remained to assist a noble cause. Together with our compatriots a wide range of Belgian and international guests participate at each Hungarian Ball, an event that is now well-established on the Brussels social calendar. Alongside quality entertainment the evening serves as an opportunity to foster the feelings of togetherness and companionship as well as to build new acquaintances. Nevertheless, the Hungarian Ball is a charitable event. It is our proud mission to exercise the values of European civic responsibility by providing help to the disadvantaged. Representatives of the cultural, political, business and civic realms will support the charitable actions of the evening not only by the purchase of their admission, but also by offering further donations for the benevolent cause. As a Hungarian diplomat I am proud that all three diplomatic representation of Hungary in Brussels supports the Hungarian Ball; the Embassy of Hungary to Belgium, the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU and the Permanent Representation of Hungary to NATO. As the Ambassador of Hungary to Belgium it is a real honour for me to greet you and wish you an excellent evening for this event of distinction and tradition. Brussels, 15.
