Perseroan memaknai ‘transformasi untuk keberlanjutan’ sebagai inisiatif bersama membangun masa depan lebih baik melalui upaya peningkatan kinerja lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi secara seimbang.
The Company interprets ‘transformation for sustainability’ as a joint initiative to build a better future through balanced improvement of environmental, social, and economic performance.
TRANSFORMASI ENERGI diimplementasikan dalam rangka clean development mechanism (CDM). Penggunaan biomassa sekam padi dan cocopeat sebagai bahan bakar alternatif telah mengubah energi menjadi salah satu sumber efisiensi bagi Perseroan, yakni dengan mendapatkan certified emission reduction (CER). Melalui penggunaan energi alternatif, Perseroan menunjukkan komitmen dalam mengelola energi, mereduksi emisi karbon, serta meningkatkan nilai ekonomi.
ENERGY TRANSFORMATION is implemented under the clean development mechanism (CDM). The use of rice husk and cocopeat biomass as alternative fuels that transform energy into one of the sources of efficiency for the Company, which is by earning certified emission reduction (CER). Through the use of alternative energy, the Company shows a commitment to manage energy, reduce carbon emissions, and increase economic value.
Transformasi lingkungan dilakukan dengan mengelola limbah menggunakan metode coprocessing yang dapat mengurangi dampak negatif lingkungan. Selain itu, memanfaatkan limbah untuk bahan bakar alternatif dalam proses produksi. Perseroan juga menyediakan lahan bagi habitat flora dan fauna endemik yang dilindungi, serta untuk meningkatkan keanekaragaman hayati.
Environmental transformation is carried out by managing waste with co-processing method that can reduce negative environmental impacts. In addition, the utilization of waste as alternative fuel in the production process. The Company also provides land for habitat of protected endemic flora and fauna, as well as to increase biodiversity.
Transformasi sosial di lingkungan Perseroan dilakukan dengan membudayakan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) pada seluruh karyawan dan kontraktor untuk terus mempertahankan zero accident. Transformasi sosial di luar Perseroan, dilakukan dengan mengimplementasikan program CSR untuk meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan dan berwawasan lingkungan.
Social transformation within the Company is carried out by embedding the culture of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to all employees and contractors to continuously maintain zero accident. Social transformation outside the Company is carried out by implementing CSR programs to increase sustainable and environmentally sound community empowerment.
Transformasi ekonomi diimplementasikan dengan melanjutkan strategi transformasi biaya (cost transformation), melalui efisiensi dan sinergi inisiatif keberlanjutan Perseroan. Perseroan terus meningkatkan daya saing melalui inovasi yang mampu menjadi problem solving maupun opportunity solving.
Economic transformation is implemented by continuing cost transformation, through efficiency and synergy of the Company’s sustainability initiatives. The Company continues to improve competitiveness through innovation that can be the problem solving and opportunity solving.

Kami bersyukur kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas berkah dan karunia-Nya sehingga dapat melewati tahun 2016 yang penuh tantangan. Pada saat persaingan industri semen domestik semakin ketat, kami dapat mempertahankan posisi sebagai pemimpin pasar industri semen nasional dengan market share 41,7%.
We are grateful to Almighty God for the blessings and the gift that allow us to go through the year 2016 that was full of challenges. At the time of increasingly tight competition in the domestic cement industry, we were able to maintain our position as market leader in the national cement industry with a market share of 41.7%.
Saat ini, kondisi makro ekonomi di bisnis semen telah berubah dengan cepat. Jumlah pemain semen domestik naik signifikan dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Kondisi ini menyebabkan kelebihan pasokan (oversupply) semen di pasar Indonesia. Asosiasi Semen Indonesia menyebutkan kapasitas produksi industri semen pada tahun 2016 mencapai 89,7 juta ton, melebihi konsumsi domestik yang hanya berkisar 65 juta ton.
Currently, the macroeconomic conditions in the cement business has been changing rapidly. The number of domestic cement players increased significantly compared to the past years. This situation caused oversupply of cement in the Indonesian market. According to the Indonesia Cement Association, production capacity of the cement industry in 2016 reached 89.7 million tons, which was above domestic consumption of only about 65 million tons.

Sustainability Initiatives
Inisiatif keberlanjutan pemanfaatan biomassa sebagai energi alternatif pada program mekanisme pembangunan bersih (clean development mechanism/CDM) di Pabrik Tuban berhasil mereduksi emisi 213.717 ton CO2eq pada periode monitoring 25 Februari 2012–29 Februari 2016. Transformasi energi ini mendapatkan pengakuan dari United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) berupa Certified Emission Reduction (CER) pada 12 Desember 2016.
Sustainability initiative of biomass utilization as an alternative energy program of the clean development mechanism (CDM) at Tuban Plant managed to reduce emissions of 213,717 tons CO2eq during monitoring period from February 25, 2012 to February 29, 2016. The energy transformation initiative gained recognition from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in the form of Certified Emission Reduction (CER) on December 12, 2016.
Selain mengurangi emisi karbon, Perseroan juga berupaya mengurangi limbah B3 internal maupun dari industri lain (eksternal). Kami memanfaatkan kembali limbah sebagai bahan bakar atau material alternatif melalui metode co-processing. Inisiatif ini sesuai dengan goal 12, yaitu memastikan pola konsumsi dan produksi yang berkelanjutan.

Perseroan berkomitmen melindungi hak-hak pekerja dan mendukung lingkungan kerja yang aman bagi seluruh pekerja maupun kontraktor. Selama tahun 2016, tidak ada peristiwa kecelakaan kerja yang menyebabkan kondisi fatal pekerja. Capaian ini merupakan wujud transformasi sosial internal kami untuk mendukung pencapaian goal 8.
The Company is committed to protecting the rights of employees and supports a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. During 2016, there were no incidents of workplace accident that caused fatality to employees. The achievement was manifestation of our internal social transformation to support the achievement of goal 8.
Transformasi sosial eksternal kami lakukan dengan mengimplementasikan program CSR yang terintegrasi dengan strategi bisnis. Kami melakukan program CSR pada kegiatan pengembangan masyarakat (community development) yang berkelanjutan serta berwawasan lingkungan di sekitar wilayah operasi. Program Desa Perkasa (Produktif, Kokoh & Sejahtera) merupakan salah satu program pemberdayaan masyarakat yang bertujuan mengoptimalkan potensi sumber daya yang tersedia di sekitar Pabrik Tuban. Program Desa Perkasa turut berkontribusi pada SDGs melalui kegiatan pengembangan pertanian terpadu (goal 2), pemberdayaan UMKM (goal 1) dan pengembangan lembaga keuangan mikro desa (goal 8), serta membantu perbaikan/pembangunan infrastruktur fisik desa (goal 11).

Desa Perkasa (Productive, Strong & Prosper) Program is a community development program that aims to optimize the potential resources available around Tuban Plant. Desa Perkasa Program contributed to the SDGs through integrated agricultural development activities (goal 2), MSMEs empowerment (goal 1) and the development of rural microfinance institution (goal 8), as well as provide assistance in physical infrastructure repair/construction for villages (goal 11).

Kami memprediksi persaingan dalam industri semen akan semakin ketat pada tahun-tahun mendatang. Kondisi ini menjadi tantangan utama. Maka, kami berupaya menerapkan strategi dengan mempertajam pelaksanaan 3+1, yaitu dari produsen semen bertransformasi menjadi bisnis semen (cement business), hilirisasi produk (adjacent portfolio), ekspansi pasar ke wilayah regional (regional expansion), dan cost transformation.
We predict competition in the cement industry will be more intense in the coming years. This condition is a major challenge. Therefore, we strive to implement a strategy by focusing more on the implementation of the 3+1, which are transformation of cement producer into cement business, downstream product (adjacent portfolio), regional expansion, and cost transformation.
Keseriusan kami masuk bisnis hilir turut mengubah visi 2030 menjadi “To be A Leading International Building Material Company in the Region.” Kami optimis dapat mewujudkan visi 2030 didukung sumber daya manusia kompeten di bidangnya dengan enam karakter budaya CHAMPS yang melekat pada setiap karyawan Grup Semen Indonesia.
Our determination in joining the downstream business has changed the vision 2030 to “To Be a Leading International Building Material Company in the Region.” We are optimistic to achieve the vision 2030 with support of competent human resources in their field with six cultural characters of CHAMPS inherent in each employee of Semen Indonesia Group.

Sejak tahun 2009 Perseroan telah membuat laporan keberlanjutan dengan nama perusahaan PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk. Kemudian ketika PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Tonasa, PT Semen Gresik, dan Thang Long Cement Company melebur menjadi PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, di tahun 2013 Perseroan membuat laporan keberlanjutan PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, dengan periode satu tahunan dari 1 Januari - 31 Desember. Laporan keberlanjutan sebelumnya diterbitkan pada 13 Mei 2016, bersamaan dengan Rapat Umum Pemegang Saham (RUPS).
Since 2009 the Company has published sustainability report under the name of PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk. Then when PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Tonasa, PT Semen Gresik, and Thang Long Cement Company were merged into PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, in 2013 the Company published a sustainability report of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, with a period of one year from January 1 - December 31. Previous sustainability report was published on May 13, 2016, at the same time with the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk selaku induk perusahaan melibatkan anak-anak perusahaannya, yaitu PT Semen Gresik, PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Tonasa, dan Thang Long Cement Company, untuk berkontribusi memberikan data dan informasi terkait kinerja keberlanjutan. Data dan informasi keuangan bersifat konsolidasi yang mencakup Perseroan dan seluruh anak perusahaannya. Data dan Informasi lingkungan dan sosial berasal dari PT Semen Tonasa, PT Semen Padang, dan PT Semen Gresik tanpa pabrik Rembang, karena pabrik ini belum beroperasi.

Proses identifikasi aspek material merujuk pada karakteristik perusahaan semen yang ada dalam referensi Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Construction Materials, berdasarkan prinsip stakeholders inclusiveness. Information on effluent and waste in 2016 became the material aspect because their management related to energy efficiency and emission reduction, originating from the utilization of alternative energy. Local community fell to the material aspect under medium category due to social performance and the disclosure of this aspect had already completed in 2015. Tahapan penting transformasi korporasi Perseroan menjadi perusahaan semen terbesar di Asia Tenggara saat ini berawal sejak dikukuhkan sebagai BUMN pertama yang Go Public pada 1991 hingga menerapkan strategic holding company (HoldCo) pada 2013 hingga sekarang. Sebagai HoldCo, Perseroan membawahi empat buah Operating Company (OpCo) yaitu PT Semen Gresik, PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Tonasa, dan Thang Long Cement.
The important stage of corporate transformation of the Company into the largest cement company in Southeast Asia today has begun since it was established as the first SOE to go public in 1991until the implementation of strategic holding company (HoldCo) in 2013 to date. As HoldCo, the Company oversees four Operating Companies (OpCos), PT Semen Gresik, PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Tonasa, and Thang Long Cement.
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk sebagai HoldCo memegang peranan pada implementasi bisnis Perusahaan yang bersifat strategis, sedangkan PT Semen Gresik sebagai OpCo berperan mengelola serta mengoperasikan Pabrik Tuban, serta Pabrik Rembang yang saat ini masih dalam tahap pembangunan. Pengelolaan pabrik eksisting di Tuban dilakukan dengan pola Kerja Sama Operasi (KSO).
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as HoldCo plays a role in the Company’s strategic business implementation, whereas PT Semen Gresik as OpCo plays a role to manage and operate Tuban Plant as well as Rembang plant which is currently under construction. Management of the existing plant in Tuban is carried out under the Joint Operation (KSO) scheme.

SCM mengutamakan aliran barang, informasi dan finansial yang terintegrasi, mulai dari hulu sampai hilir. SCM juga menghubungkan usaha dan koordinasi antar proses dari perusahaanperusahaan lain dalam pipelines mulai dari supplier sampai dengan pelanggan.

Mengoptimalkan Energi Alternatif Optimizing Alternative Energy
Energi merupakan kebutuhan utama dalam operasional Perseroan, terutama pada proses produksi semen dan oleh karenanya informasi ini penting disampaikan sebagai aspek material. Penggunaan energi panas maupun listrik dalam proses produksi berkontribusi terhadap biaya operasi sekitar 38% dari beban pokok produksi (Cost of Goods Manufactured/COGM). Energy is the main requirement in the Company’s operations, particularly in the cement production process and therefore it is important to present the information as a material aspect. The use of heat energy and power in the production process contribute to the operating costs about 38% of Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM).
Inisiatif Semen Indonesia berupa mengintensifkan penggunaan sumber energi biomassa dalam kerangka program clean development mechanism (CDM). Perseroan memanfaatkan batubara kalori lebih rendah dalam memproduksi terak di seluruh pabrik, memaksimalkan unit waste heat recovery power generator (WHRPG) di Padang, dan power plant di Tonasa.
Semen Indonesia’s initiative is in the form of intensifying the use of biomass energy sources under the clean development mechanism (CDM) program framework. The Company uses a lower grade coal in producing slag at all plants, maximizes waste heat recovery power generator (WHRPG) unit in Padang, and power plant in Tonasa.
Pada 2 Desember 2016, penggunaan biomassa sekam padi dan cocopeat sebagai bahan bakar alternatif dalam kerangka Proyek CDM di Pabrik Tuban telah mengubah komponen biaya energi menjadi tambahan pendapatan bagi Perseroan atas penjualan Certified Emission Reduction (CER) tahap pertama kepada Negara Swedia (Swedish Energy Agency) sebesar 725.760 EURO atau Rp10,2 miliar.
On December 2, 2016, the use of rice husk and cocopeat biomass as alternative fuels under CDM Project framework at Tuban Plant has turned the energy cost components into additional income for the Company from the sale of Certified Emission Reduction (CER) first phase to Sweden (Swedish Energy Agency) amounted to EUR725,760 or Rp10.2 billion. Fuel from Biomass
Perseroan memanfaatkan limbah produksi pertanian (biomassa) berupa sekam padi, serbuk gergaji, sabut kelapa (cocopeat) dan limbah tembakau sebagai bahan bakar alternatif dalam proses pembakaran terak semen. Upaya ini bertujuan untuk mengelola energi, mengurangi emisi CO2, mendapatkan CER, sebagai solusi penanganan limbah pertanian di lingkungan sekitar pabrik, menciptakan pabrik yang ramah lingkungan, serta mendukung program pemerintah terkait pemanasan global.
The Company uses agricultural production waste (biomass) such as rice husk, sawdust, cocopeat and tobacco waste as alternative fuels in the combustion process of cement slag. This initiative aims to manage energy, reduce CO2 emissions, earn CER, as a solution to agricultural waste management in the environment around the plant, creating an environmentally friendly plant, and to support government programs related to global warming.

untuk menggantikan batubara di Pabrik Tuban 1 dan Tuban 3. Sekam padi disuplai dari Kabupaten Tuban, Lamongan, Rembang, Jombang dan Kecamatan Cepu. Cocopeat disuplai dari Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Penggunaan biomassa sebesar 5-8% ini mampu meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan energi batubara sebesar 4%. Total pemanfaatan biomassa sebagai bahan bakar alternatif selama empat tahun terakhir sebesar 275.778 ton. [G4-EN6]

Penerbitan sertifikat karbon (Issuance CER) tahap pertama oleh UNFCCC sebesar 193.536 ton CO2eq untuk periode monitoring Januari 2013 – Februari 2016, berhasil dijual kepada Negara Swedia (Swedish Energy Agency). The use of biomass as an alternative fuel at Tuban Plant earned CER from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on December 12, 2016 amounted to 213,717 tons CO2eq for monitoring period of February 25, 2012 to February 29, 2016. The first phase of CER Issuance by UNFCCC amounted to 193,536 tons CO2eq for monitoring period of January 2013 to February 2016, were sold to Sweden (Swedish Energy Agency). [G4-EN19]
Proyek CDM di PT Semen Tonasa telah terdaftar di UNFCCC dengan nomor pendaftaran 5468 pada tahun 2010. Namun, proyek CDM terhenti karena harga CER mengalami penurunan tajam. Sebagai gantinya, bahan bakar alternatif sekam padi diikutsertakan dalam Proyek Voluntary Program Agreement (VPA), sebagai salah satu proyek penurunan emisi gas rumah kaca.
CDM project at PT Semen Tonasa has been registered at UNFCCC with registration number 5468 in 2010. However, the CDM project stalled due to CER prices declined sharply. As a replacement, rice husk alternative fuel was included in the Voluntary Project Program Agreement (VPA), as one of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.

Pelaksanaan Proyek CDM menghasilkan multiplier effect bagi pengembangan masyarakat di sekitar. Pengadaan biomassa memberikan penghasilan tambahan bagi petani, pemilik penggilingan sekam padi dan tempat penggergajian kayu. Sekitar 20–30 orang masyarakat memiliki kesempatan menjadi tenaga bongkar sekam di gudang. Di tahun 2016, vendor transporter pensuplai sekam berjumlah 11 vendor, yaitu CV Himajaya, CV Fajar, CV Hidayattulah, CV Jaya Abadi, KWSG, CV Nusa Karya, CV Sumber Makmur, CV Sulung Putera, CV Sumber Rejeki, Varia Usaha dan CV Tiga Gelang.
Implementation of CDM Project generates a multiplier effect for the development of surrounding communities. Procurement of biomass provides additional income for farmers, owners of rice husk mills and sawmills. Around 20 to 30 people have the opportunity to become rice husk loading workers at the warehouse. In 2016, a total of 11 transporter vendors supplied rice husks, namely CV Himajaya, CV Fajar, CV Hidayattulah, CV Jaya Abadi, KWSG, CV Nusa Karya, CV Sumber Makmur, CV Sulung Putera, CV Sumber Rejeki, Varia Usaha and CV Tiga Gelang.

Penerapan inovasi waste heat recovery power generator (WHRPG) mampu memanfaatkan panas gas buang dari proses pembakaran terak sebagai energi pembangkit listrik. Inovasi WHRPG sudah diterapkan di Pabrik Indarung V Padang, Sumatera Barat (PT Semen Padang) dan Pabrik Tuban, Jawa Timur (PT Semen Gresik) yang dalam tahap penyelesaian.
The application of waste heat recovery power generator (WHRPG) innovation managed to utilize waste heat gases from slag combustion process as an energy for power plants. WHRPG innovation has been applied at Indarung V Plant, Padang, West Sumatra (PT Semen Padang), while at Tuban Plant, East Java (PT Semen Gresik) was in the completion phase.

Penggunaan energi dalam proses produksi semen terdiri dari dua jenis energi, yaitu energi panas dari pemakaian batubara, serta energi listrik dari pembangkit listrik pribadi dan PLN. Perhitungan energi dalam upaya pengendalian konsumsi energi listrik dan energi panas rutin dilakukan setiap satu tahun sekali. Metode perhitungan yaitu dengan menghitung konsumsi energi panas yang dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan terak, dan menghitung konsumsi energi listrik yang dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan semen. Di sisi lain, PT Semen Tonasa menghitung konsumsi energi listrik dalam pabrik dengan menjumlah total kWh untuk semua unit operasi termasuk packer dalam pabrik.
Energy use in the cement production process consists of two types of energy, namely heat energy from coal, and power from own power plants and state power company PT PLN. Energy is regularly calculated once a year to control power and heat energy consumption. The calculation method is to compute consumption of heat energy used to produce slag, and consumption of power used to produce cement. On the other hand, PT Semen Tonasa calculates power consumption in the plant by summing total kWh of all operating units including packer in the plant.

Perseroan menyadari bahwa kegiatan operasi semen menyumbang emisi CO2 yang cukup besar dan oleh karenanya upaya mitigasi emisi menjadi aspek material yang perlu disampaikan dalam laporan ini. Perseroan turut berpartisipasi aktif menurunkan laju pemanasan global (global warming) sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap komitmen Pemerintah di G-20 Pittsburgh dan COP15 Copenhagen untuk mengurangi emisi gas CO2 sebesar 26% sampai tahun 2020 (unilateral). [G4-DMA] The Company realizes that cement operations contributes a sizeable CO2 emissions and therefore emission mitigation is a material aspect that needs to be presented in this report. The Company actively participated in lowering the rate of global warming as a form of support to the Government’s commitment at G-20 Pittsburgh and COP15 Copenhagen to reduce CO2 emissions by 26% by 2020 (unilateral). Partisipasi Menurunkan Laju Pemanasan Global
Participation in Lowering Global Warming Rate
Sejak tahun 2009, Perseroan mengembangkan Proyek CDM sebagai bentuk partisipasi atas upaya bersama mengatasi efek pemanasan global, yang diawali dengan pembuatan project design document (PDD). Pengerjaan PDD ini bersamaan dengan pembangunan fasilitas transport biomass Tuban 3 dengan kapasitas 20 ton/jam. Perseroan berkerja sama dengan Sindicatum Carbon Capital (SCC) membuat PDD dengan nama proyek “Partial substitution of fossil fuels with biomass at Semen Gresik cement plant in Tuban”.
Since 2009, the Company has developed CDM Project as participation in joint efforts to overcome the effects of global warming, which began with the creation of the project design document (PDD). The PDD was executed simultaneously with the construction of biomass transport facilities at Tuban 3 with a capacity of 20 tons/hour. The Company cooperated with Sindicatum Carbon Capital (SCC) in preparing PDD under the project name of “Partial substitution of fossil fuels with biomass at Semen Gresik cement plant in Tuban”.
Pada tahun 2010, proyek CDM didaftarkan ke Dewan Nasional Perubahan Iklim (DNPI), Republik Indonesia, selanjutnya didaftarkan ke UNFCCC. Pada 25 Februari 2011, proyek CDM mendapat persetujuan dari UNFCCC dengan nomor pendaftaran 3726. Dari proyek CDM, pada 6 Mei 2015, Perseroan berhasil melakukan perjanjian jual beli emisi atau disebut ERPA (Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement). Pada 30 – 31 Mei 2016 verifikasi atas issuance CER dilakukan oleh EPICSustainability, Bangalore, selaku pihak eksternal yang ditunjuk sebagai Designated of Entity (DOE) oleh UNFCCC, hingga pada September 2016 DOE melaporkan hasil verifikasi ke UNFCCC.
In 2010, CDM project was registered with the National Council on Climate Change (DNPI), the Republic of Indonesia, then it was registered to the UNFCCC. On February 25, 2011, the CDM project received approval from UNFCCC with registration number 3726. From the CDM project, on May 6, 2015, the Company signed an emission sales and purchase agreement or ERPA (Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement). On May 30 to 31, 2016, verification on issuance of CERs was conducted by EPIC-Sustainability, Bangalore, as Designated of Entity (DOE) by the UNFCCC. The DOE then submitted report on the verification results to UNFCCC in September 2016.

Pengembangan Produk Blended Cement
Blended Cement Product Development
Pengembangan produk blended cement diimplementasikan di semua pabrik milik Perseroan untuk mengurangi penggunaan klinker dengan material cementious berkualitas dan dalam kadar yang sesuai. Klinker adalah produk setengah jadi yang dihasilkan dari proses pembakaran raw meal di dalam tanur (kiln). Produksi klinker adalah sumber utama emisi CO2 pada proses produksi semen. Pengembangan produk blended cement di Pabrik Tuban mampu mereduksi emisi 12.678 ton CO2 di tahun 2016, turun dari tahun sebelumnya 79.757,84 ton CO2. [G4-EN19]
Blended cement product development is implemented at all plants owned by the Company to reduce the use of clinker with appropriate quality and content of cementious material. Clinker is the intermediate product resulting from the burning of raw meal in the kiln. Clinker production is the main source of CO2 emissions in the cement production process. The blended cement product development at Tuban Plant managed to reduce emissions of 12,678 tons of CO2 in 2016, down from the previous year 79,757.84 tons of CO2. [G4-EN19]
Bahan aditif yang merupakan salah satu material pembuatan blended cement, diperoleh dari limbah B3 dari proses industri logam. Pengolahan limbah B3 dilakukan menggunakan metode coprocessing dengan cara pembakaran pada suhu tinggi (1.400oC). Proses pembakaran mampu mendekomposisi kandungan logam berat limbah menjadi senyawa oksida. Proses ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas semen yang dihasilkan dan tidak berbahaya bagi lingkungan.
Additive is one of materials for blended cement production, which is generated from B3 (hazardous and toxic material) waste in the metal industrial process. B3 waste processing is done using co-processing method through combustion o at high temperature (1,400 C). The combustion process is able to decompose heavy metal content of waste into oxides. This process can improve the quality of cement produced and is not harmful to the environment.

Sumber emisi CO2 Perseroan secara umum berasal dari proses kalsinasi pembakaran batu kapur 5560%, penggunaan bahan bakar batubara 30-35%, transportasi 3%, dan listrik dari PLN 2%. Berdasarkan petunjuk teknis perhitungan dan pelaporan emisi CO2 industri semen oleh Kementerian Perindustrian, baseline data emisi CO2 adalah penurunan emisi CO2 yang dihitung pada tahun 2009. Industri semen dapat berkontribusi dalam pengurangan emisi CO2 secara sukarela sebesar 2% untuk kurun waktu 20112015 dan secara wajib sebesar 3% untuk kurun waktu 2016-2020.
The Company’s sources of CO2 emissions in general originated from 55-60% from the limestone burning calcination process, 30-35% from the use of coal fuel, 3% from transport, and 2% from power. Based on the calculation technical guide and CO2 emission reporting of the cement industry by the Ministry of Industry, baseline data of CO2 emissions is decrease in CO2 emissions, which was calculated in 2009. The cement industry can contribute to the voluntary reduction of CO2 emissions by 2% for the period 2011 to 2015 and mandatorily by 3% for the period 2016-2020.

Perhitungan emisi GRK secara rutin setiap setahun sekali dengan metode WBCSD CSI Version 3. Pengukuran GRK dilakukan pada sumber-sumber tertentu, seperti proses pembakaran batubara dan pemakaian batu kapur (cakupan/scope 1), serta penggunaan energi listrik dari PLN di Pabrik Tuban (cakupan/scope 2). Untuk pengukuran emisi GRK tidak langsung lainnya (cakupan/scope 3) belum dapat dilaksanakan. [G4-EN15, G4-EN16]
GHG emission calculation is conducted regularly once a year with the method WBCSD CSI Version 3. GHG measurements are carried out on certain sources, such as coal combustion process and the use of limestone (scope 1), as well as the consumption of power in Tuban (scope 2). Meanwhile the measurement of other indirect GHG emissions (scope 3) can not be implemented. [G4-EN15, G4-EN16]

Pollutant Reduction
Perseroan secara bertahap mengganti freon (chlorofluorocarbon/CFC) sebagai gas perusak ozon dengan pendingin udara (air conditioning/AC) ramah lingkungan di seluruh perkantoran. Selain itu, Perseroan mengganti isi alat pemadam api ringan (APAR) dengan bahan AF11, AF11 maupun dry powder yang lebih ramah lingkungan.
The Company is gradually replacing freon (chlorofluorocarbon/CFC) as an ozone-depleting gas with environmentally friendly air conditioning (AC) in all offices. In addition, the Company has replaced the content of portable fire extinguisher (APAR) with AF11, as AF11 and dry powder are more environmentally friendly.
Perseroan berupaya mengendalikan emisi pencemar udara, SOx, NOx dan partikulat yang berasal dari cerobong kiln dengan melakukan pengukuran secara rutin. PT Semen Padang melakukan pengukuran SOx menggunakan metode 22-9/IK/UETB-O (Combustion gas analyzer), pengukuran NOx menggunakan metode 22-9/IK/UETB-O (Combustion gas analyzer), dan pengukuran total partikel menggunakan metode SNI 7117.17-2009. [G4-EN21]
The Company seeks to control emissions of air pollutants, SOx, NOx and particulates from the kiln stack by conducting measurements regularly. SOx of PT Semen Padang is measured with the method of 22-9/IK/UETB-O (Combustion gas analyzer), measurement of NOx uses the method of 22-9/ IK/UETB-O (Combustion gas analyzer), and total particles measurement uses the method of SNI 7117.17-2009. Dust Emission and Noise Control
Untuk mengendalikan emisi debu, seluruh fasilitas produksi yang dimiliki Perseroan dilengkapi dengan peralatan penangkap debu seperti electrostatic precipitator, cyclone, conditioning tower, dan bag house filter. Pengendalian emisi debu juga dilakukan dengan menyediakan buffer zone, melakukan penanaman pohon pada area green belt di sekitar lahan bahan baku dan green barrier di dalam dan sekitar pabrik. Perseroan juga berupaya meminimalkan dampak kebisingan pada saat kegiatan penambangan dengan menggunakan surface miner.
To control dust emissions, the entire production facility owned by the Company is equipped with dust catcher equipment such as electrostatic precipitators, cyclones, conditioning tower, and bag house filter. Dust emissions are also controlled by providing a buffer zone, tree planting in the green belt area around the site of raw materials and green barrier in and around the plant. The Company also seeks to minimize the impact of noise during mining activities by using surface miners.

Mendaur Ulang Limbah Recycling Waste
Bagi Perseroan, limbah merupakan sumber daya yang pemanfaatannya dapat mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Perseroan memanfaatkan limbah kategori bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3) serta non-B3 melalui pengelolaan secara cermat dan hati-hati sesuai prinsip reduce, reuse, dan recycle (3R). Maka, informasi ini merupakan aspek material yang perlu disampaikan kepada pemangku kepentingan. For the Company, waste is a resource which utilization can reduce the negative impact on the environment. The Company utilizes hazardous and toxic material (B3) and non-B3 waste through cautious and careful management according to the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle (3Rs). Perseroan memiliki izin memanfaatkan kembali (reuse) limbah B3 oli bekas untuk pemeliharaan mesin dan peralatan produksi, serta memanfaatkan oli bekas, grease, dan majun bekas sebagai bahan bakar alternatif dengan metode co-processing. Limbah B3 padat yang tidak dapat dimanfaatkan kembali seperti aki bekas, lampu TL bekas, toner/ catridge, dan botol kimia diserahkan kepada pihak ketiga yang memiliki izin dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan.
The Company has a B3 waste reuse permit of waste oil for machinery and production equipment maintenance, as well as utilizes waste oil, grease, and used rags as alternative fuels through the coprocessing method. B3 solid waste that can not be reused such as used batteries, used fluorescent lamp, toner/cartridge, and chemical bottles are sent to a third party who has the permit from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
Limbah kategori non-B3 terdiri dari sampah domestik, material rusak, dan barang bekas pakai (avfal). Perseroan memanfaatkan kembali sampah domestik menjadi bahan bakar alternatif pada tanur (kiln). Limbah padat logam non-B3 secara umum diolah kembali oleh pihak ketiga untuk pembuatan barang logam lainnya.
Non-B3 waste consists of domestic waste, damaged materials, and used materials (avfal). The Company reuses domestic waste into alternative fuels for kiln. Non-B3 metal solid waste is generally reprocessed by third parties for the manufacture of other metals.

External Waste Management
Limbah dari industri lain (eksternal) dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku dan bahan bakar alternatif melalui metode co-processing. Melalui metode coprocessing, pembakaran limbah secara terkendali dalam tanur dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah limbah dalam bentuk recovery energi dan material untuk bahan baku proses produksi.
Waste from other industries (external) used as raw materials and alternative fuels through co-processing methods. Through the method of co-processing, incineration of waste in a controlled manner in the furnace can increase the added value of waste in the form of energy recovery and material for raw material of production process.

Kegiatan operasional Perseroan secara umum menggunakan sumber air permukaan untuk proses produksi maupun memenuhi kebutuhan domestik. Penerapan proses produksi kering di seluruh pabrik memungkinkan tidak ada air berkas pakai yang dibuang ke badan air, karena seluruhnya dimanfaatkan ulang untuk proses pendinginan melalui mekanisme sirkulasi tertutup. Perseroan menunjuk laboratorium independen untuk melalukan pengukuran kualitas air dengan metode tertentu setiap tiga bulan sekali.
The Company’s operational activities generally use surface water for production process and meet domestic needs. The Company has appointed an independent laboratory to perform water quality measurements with specific methods once every three months.

Impact of Operations
Kegiatan operasi Perseroan berpotensi menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Potensi gangguan terhadap vegetasi darat berupa hilangnya flora atau keanekaragaman flora terjadi saat pembukaan lahan.
The Company’s operations potentially cause negative impact on the environment. Potential disturbance to terrestrial vegetation in the form of loss of flora or flora diversity may occur during land clearing.
Gangguan habitat fauna karena hilangnya vegetasi tutupan lahan, berakibat pada migrasi fauna dari area tambang ke area hutan di sekitar lokasi Tambang. Gangguan biota perairan dapat terjadi dari kegiatan pembukaan lahan, penggalian, limbah yang berpotensi menurunkan kualitas air permukaan.
Fauna habitat disturbance due to loss of ground cover vegetation may result in the migration of fauna from the mine area to the forest area around the mine site. Disturbance of aquatic biota may occur from land clearing, quarrying, waste that potentially degrade the quality of surface water.

Restoration of Post-Mining Area
Dalam upaya mitigasi dampak lingkungan, Perseroan menerapkan sistem penambangan berjejang. Proses penambangan diselesaikan satu jenjang/petak kemudian pindah ke petak yang lain. Selain itu, Perseroan melakukan reklamasi pascatambang melalui penanaman hutan kembali. Upaya ini memberikan dampak positif bagi keanekaragaman hayati, yang ditandai dengan semakin beragamnya spesies flora dan fauna di sekitar area operasi Perseroan.
In mitigation effort of the environmental impact, the Company implements tiered mining system. Mining process is carried out by completing one tier/plot and then move to another plot. In addition, the Company conducts post-mining reclamation through reforestation. These efforts had a positive impact on biodiversity, which was characterized by increasingly diverse species of flora and fauna around the area of operations.

Perseroan menyediakan lahan pengganti pada masing-masing pabrik yang bisa menjadi habitat bagi flora dan fauna endemik ataupun yang dilindungi oleh Undang-Undang. PT Semen Padang memiliki kawasan konservasi yang di dalamnya terdapat 6 tumbuhan langka dan dilindungi (berdasarkan PP No. 7 tahun 1999 dan CITES red list). Untuk menambah keragaman spesies, dilakukan usaha pembibitan pohon khas Sumatra Barat yaitu pohon Andalas dan Indarung.
The Company provides replacement land at each plant that can become habitat for flora and fauna that are endemic or protected by laws. PT Semen Padang has a conservation area, in which there are six rare and protected plants (under Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999 and CITES red list). To add to the diversity of species, there is a nursery for West Sumatra typical trees, which are Andalas and Indarung trees.
PT Semen Gresik menyediakan lahan di Pabrik Tuban seluas 2 hektar untuk melaksanakan program pelestarian Rusa Timor (Cervus timorensis). Program pelestarian merupakan kerja sama antar Perseroan dengan Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) dan perusahaan pengelola lingkungan lokal Tuban (PT Sahabat Alam).
PT Semen Gresik provided 2-hectare land at Tuban Plant area to carry out Cervus timorensis preservation program. The preservation program is a cooperation between the Company and the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) and Tuban local environmental management company (PT Sahabat Alam).
PT Semen Tonasa mengembangkan Taman Kehati Bulu Sipong dengan luas 11,9 hektar di Kelurahan Bontoa, lintas Kabupaten Pangkep-Maros, Sulawesi Selatan. Kawasan konservasi ini dikembangkan untuk melestarikan sumber daya plasma nutfah, khususnya tumbuhan langka khas Sulawesi Selatan yang merupakan keystone spesies bagi satwa penyerbuk dan pemencar biji, serta sekaligus menjadi sumber bibit dan sumber gen bagi upaya budidaya spesies. Saat ini Taman Kehati Bulu Sipong merupakan habitat bagi 21 spesies flora dan 15 spesies fauna.
PT Semen Tonasa developed Bulu Sipong Biodiversity Park with an area of 11.9 hectares in Bontoa Village, Pangkep-Maros regency, South Sulawesi. The conservation area was developed for preservation of germplasm resources, especially rare plants typical of South Sulawesi which are keystone species for seed dispersers and pollinators, as well as seed and gene sources for the species cultivation efforts. Currently Bulu Sipong Biodiversity Park has become habitat for 21 species of flora and 15 species of fauna.

Bagi Perseroan, karyawan merupakan human capital yang berperan penting dalam penggerak roda operasional. Perseroan terus meningkatkan kesadaran keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) karyawan demi selalu mewujudkan zero accident, sekaligus untuk mendukung kinerja keberlanjutan. Informasi ini menjadi aspek material karena Perseroan perlu menyampaikannya kepada pemangku kepentingan, termasuk kepada seluruh mitra kerja. For the Company, employees are the human capital that plays an important role in the operations. The Company continues to raise awareness of occupational health and safety (OHS) to employees in order to continue achieving zero accident, as well as to support sustainability performance. This information is a material aspect, as the Company needs to present it to stakeholders, including to all business partners.
Pelaksanaan K3 mengacu sistem operasional terakreditasi: Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan & Kesehatan Kerja (SMK3) dan OHSAS 18001:2007. Hasil evaluasi pada tahun 2016 menunjukkan tidak ada kecelakaan fatal di lingkungan kerja Pabrik Tuban, Padang, dan Tonasa. [G4-DMA]
OHS implementation refers to the accredited operational system: Occupational Safety & Health Management System (SMK3) and OHSAS 18001: 2007. The results of the evaluation in 2016 showed no fatal accidents within Tuban, Padang, and Tonasa plants. [G4-DMA]

Perseroan memiliki Panitia Pembinaan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (P2K3), sebagai komite bersama. Anggota P2K3 terdiri dari perwakilan perusahaan dan perwakilan pekerja yang bersinergi melakukan pemantauan kepatuhan pelaksanaan K3. Total pengurus K3 di Semen Indonesia Grup sebanyak 133 orang atau 2,61% dari total karyawan tetap di tahun 2016. [G4-LA5]

Pembahasan mengenai topik K3 Perseroan terdapat dalam Perjanjian Kerja Bersama (PKB), yang berlaku di masing-masing anak perusahaan. Dalam PKB diatur kewajiban menciptakan kondisi kerja yang mendukung penyelenggaraan K3 bagi karyawan, termasuk pekerja pabrik maupun tambang yang memiliki risiko tinggi. Para pekerja diwajibkan memenuhi segala ketentuan terkait tata laksana K3 dan dapat menolak bekerja bila kondisinya dinilai membahayakan keselamatan kerja.
Discussion of the Company’s OHS topic contained in Collective Labor Agreement (CLA), which is applicable in each subsidiary. The CLA stipulates obligation to create working conditions that support OHS implementation for employees, including plant and mine employees who have a high risk. The employees are required to fulfill all the provisions on OHS implementation and can refuse to work if the condition is considered endangering the safety.
Perseroan menerapkan manajemen resiko di bidang K3 dengan melakukan pembaruan Identifikasi & Penilaian Dampak Kegiatan (IPDK) beberapa program rutin, antara lain; 1. Program pencegahan kecelakaan kerja dan penyakit akibat kerja; 2. Program pengukuran lingkungan kerja dan lingkungan Perusahaan; 3. Program pelayanan kesehatan kerja; 4. Program pemantauan 10 besar penyakit di Puskesmas sekitar Perusahaan; 5. Program asuransi tenaga kerja (BPJS).

Perseroan berpartisipasi aktif menciptakan manfaat bersama di sekitar wilayah operasional melalui pelaksanaan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan (corporate social responsibility/CSR) yang terintegrasi dengan strategi bisnis. Penyusunan program CSR diawali dengan penilaian dampak sosial melalui kegiatan pemetaan sosial di masingmasing lokasi operasi Grup Semen Indonesia setiap dua tahun sekali. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, observasi, dan focus group discussion (FGD). Pemetaan sosial pernah dilaksanaan oleh PT Semen Padang di Kelurahan Indarung, Kecamatan Lubuk Kilangan, Kota Padang.
The Company participates actively in creating mutual benefit around the operational areas through the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) that is integrated with business strategy. The preparation of the CSR program begins with social impact assessment through social mapping at each location of Semen Indonesia Group’s operations every two years. Grup Semen Indonesia membentuk forum komunikasi multi pemangku kepentingan yang melibatkan tokoh masyarakat, tokoh agama, tokoh pemuda, perwakilan pemerintah daerah, dan kelompok rentan yang menjadi prioritas penerima manfaat program. Semen Indonesia Group has formed a multistakeholder communication forum involving community leaders, religious leaders, youth leaders, representatives of local government and vulnerable groups who are priority beneficiaries of the program. CSR Program Monitoring and Evaluation [G4-SO1]
Pelaksanaan program-program CSR dipantau (monitoring) dan evaluasi (monev) setiap tiga bulan sekali atau sesuai kebutuhan, melalui forum komunikasi yang sudah terbentuk. Monitoring dan evaluasi program CSR juga dilakukan pihak internal Perseroan setiap tiga bulan yang diikuti General Manager of CSR, Senior Manager of Community Development, Manager of Community Development dan Community Development Officer. Pokok bahasan pertemuan antara lain anggaran, kemajuan program dan pencapaian sasaran program (peta jalan/roadmap CSR).
CSR program monitoring and evaluation (M & E) is conducted every three months, or as needed, through a communication forum that has been formed. Monitoring and evaluation of CSR programs are also conducted by the Company’s internal party every three months attended by the General Manager of CSR, Senior Manager of Community Development, Manager of Community Development and Community Development Officer. The agenda of the meeting include budgeting, the progress of the program and the achievement of program goals (CSR Roadmap).

Desa Perkasa (Produktif, Kokoh & Sejahtera) merupakan program pemberdayaan masyarakat yang bertujuan mengoptimalkan potensi sumber daya yang tersedia di sekitar Pabrik Tuban. Lokasi kegiatan berada di Desa Temandang, Kecamatan Merakurak Tuban, Desa Kasiman, Kecamatan Kerek Tuban, dan Desa Socorejo, Kecamatan Jenu Tuban. Ketiga desa ini merupakan proyek percontohan pembangunan desa berbasis segenap potensi yang ada menuju masyarakat mandiri yang lebih sejahtera dan dilakukan oleh masyarakat itu sendiri.
Desa Perkasa (Produktif, Kokoh & Sejahtera or Productive, Strong & Prosper) is a community development program that aims to optimize the potential resources available around Tuban Plant. The activities are implemented in Temandang Village, Merakurak Tuban District; Kasiman Village, Kerek Tuban District, and Socorejo Village, Jenu Tuban District. The three villages became a pilot project of rural development based on all the existing potential toward the independent community that is more prosperous and carried out by the community themselves.
Fokus utama pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Perkasa yaitu: 1. Pengembangan pertanian terpadu; 2. Pemberdayaan UMKM dan koperasi unit desa (koperasi di tingkat desa); 3. Pengembangan lembaga keuangan mikro desa (LKMDes-Mandiri / MMM); 4. Perbaikan/pembangunan infrastruktur fisik desa.
The main focuses of Desa Perkasa community empowerment are: 1. Development of integrated farming; 2. Empowerment of MSME and village unit cooperatives (village level cooperatives); 3. Development of rural micro-finance institutions (LKMDes-Mandiri/MMM); 4. Repair/construction of physical infrastructure of the village.
Program diimplementasikan melalui tahapan pemetaan sosial, penyusunan action plan and budgeting, pendampingan dan monev, serta exit plan. Total investasi sosial telah disiapkan sebesar Rp5 miliar dalam waktu tiga tahun sejak peluncuran program pada 30 Desember 2014 dan dikucurkan Rp1,5 miliar setiap tahunnya.
The program is implemented through the stages of social mapping, preparation of the action plan and budgeting, mentoring and monitoring & evaluation (monev), as well as exit plan. Total social investment allocation was Rp5 billion for the period of three years since the launch of the program on December 30, 2014 and disbursed Rp1.5 billion annually.
Pada tahun 2016, telah terbentuk enam kelompok di setiap desa model yang bersinergi dalam membesarkan jenis usahanya masing-masing. Desa Temandang terdapat tiga kelompok ayam, tiga kelompok kambing; Desa Kasiman terdapat enam kelompok kambing; dan Desa Socorejo terdapat dua kelompok ayam, satu kelompok Itik, dan tiga kelompok kambing.
In 2016, six groups have been formed in every model villages that synergized in developing each type of business. Temandang Village has three chicken groups, three goat groups; Kasiman Village has six Goat groups; and Socorejo Village has two chicken groups, a duck group, and three goat groups.
Perusahaan bersama tim ahli CSR dari perguruan tinggi melakukan evaluasi secara berkala untuk semakin menyempurnakan pelaksanakan program dari waktu ke waktu. Pada tahun 2017, rencananya dibangun fondasi dan struktur organisasi yang mengarah pada pembentukan koperasi bersama. Hal ini untuk memperkuat struktur dan ketahanan ekonomi masyarakat penerima program.
The Company together with team of CSR experts from universities conduct periodic evaluations to further improve program implementation. In 2017, foundations and organizational structure are planned to be built that aim to the formation of a joint cooperative. It is to strengthen the structure and economic resilience program of beneficiary communities.

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk contributed to the implementation of the “BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri 2016” (SOEs for the Nation 2016) program organized by the Ministry of SOEs. The Company was mandated to be in charge of the home renovation for veterans program. Implementation of this program is the Company’s form of respect and gratitude to the veterans.
Realisasi bedah ruman veteran melibatkan 34 rumah di Jawa Tengah dan 17 rumah di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Sejalan dengan kegiatan BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri, Perseroan telah melaksanakan bedah Rumah Tidak Layak Huni (RTLH), yang merupakan program CSR SI Prima. Program Bedah RTLH bertujuan untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup dan tingkat kesehatan masyarakat di sekitar wilayah operasi. Pada tahun 2016, PT Semen Gresik melakukan bedah rumah sebanyak 31 unit di Kecamatan Bulu dan Kecamatan Gunem Kabupaten Rembang Jawa Tengah. PT Semen Tonasa melakukan bedah rumah sebanyak 50 unit sejak tahun 2013 hingga 2016.
Realization of home renovation for veterans involving 34 homes in Central Java and 17 homes in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). In line with the activities of BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri, the Company has been carrying out renovation for uninhabitable homes (RTLH), which is the SI Prima CSR program. RTLH Renovation Program aims to improve the standard of living and health level of the community around the area of operations. In 2016, PT Semen Gresik renovated a total of 31 homes in Bulu and Gunem districts, Rembang Regency, Central Java. PT Semen Tonasa has renovated 50 homes since 2013 to 2016.

Kontribusi berupa membangun 10 sarana mandi cuci dan kakus (MCK) senilai Rp470 juta. Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, PT Semen Gresik melalui program CSR SI Prima memberikan bantuan pembangunan sarana MCK kepada 50 keluarga di sekitar Pabrik Rembang, yaitu di Kecamatan Gunem dan Bulu Kabupaten Rembang, Jawa Tengah. Selain itu, PT Semen Tonasa membangun 34 sarana MCK di sekitar wilayah Perusahaan.
The Company contributes to the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri 2016, through development at the tourist area of Borobudur in Magelang Regency, Central Java. The contribution was in the form of building 10 toilets worth Rp470 million. In line with this, PT Semen Gresik through CSR SI Prima program provided development assistance for toilet facilities to 50 families residing around Rembang Plant, in Gunem and Bulu districts, Rembang Regency, Central Java. In addition, PT Semen Tonasa built 34 toilet facilities around the area of the Company.
Selain pembangunan sarana MCK, PT Semen Gresik juga telah mengucurkan dana Rp670 juta untuk pipanisasi dan membangun tandon air bersih di sekitar Pabrik Rembang. Pipanisasi sepanjang 1 km dan pembangunan tandon air berkapasitas total 8.200 liter terealisasi di Desa Kajar dengan penerima manfaat 132 Kepala Keluarga (KK) atau 452 jiwa.
Aside from building toilet facilities, PT Semen Gresik has also disbursed Rp670 million for the pipeline and building water tank around Rembang Plant. Installation of 1 km long pipeline and construction of water tank with a total capacity of 8,200 liters have been realized in Kajar Village with beneficiaries of 132 families (KK) or 452 people.

TRANSFORMASI SOSIAL SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION
Pipanisasi sepanjang 600 meter dan pembangunan tandon air 5.100 liter terealisasi di Desa Pasucen dengan penerima manfaat 160 KK atau 560 jiwa. Di sisi lain, PT Semen Tonasa melalui program Tonasa Sehat, menyelenggarakan program air bersih di Desa Tabo-tabo, Kalabirang, Taraweang, Bowong Cindea, Bontoa, dan Bulu Cindea. Inisiatif ini dilaksanakan sejak 2014 hingga 2016, dan telah membuat 22 titik bor serta 186 bak hidran. Saat ini total penerima manfaat mencapai 1.901 KK.
Installation of 600-meter pipelines and 5,100-liter water tank construction were realized in Pasucen Village for beneficiaries of 160 families or 560 people. PT Semen Tonasa through Tonasa Sehat (Healthy Tonasa) program, organized a clean water program in Tabo-tabo, Kalabirang, Taraweang, Bowong Cindea, Bontoa and Bulu Cindea villages. This initiative has been conducted since 2014 until 2016, and has made 22 drilling points and 186 hydrant tubs. At present, total beneficiaries reached 1,901 families.

Perseroan bersama entitas anak usaha kontribusi pada bidang pendidikan yaitu dengan turut mensukseskan Program Siswa Mengenal Nusantara 2016 yang diinisiasi Kementerian BUMN. Program yang berlangsung selama satu pekan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan siswa-siswi agar lebih mengenal budaya dan menambah referensi tentang pendidikan di Indonesia dengan cara pertukaran pelajar. Perseroan menfasilitasi 20 pelajar berprestasi dari Nusa Tenggara Timur ke Jawa Tengah dan menerima 20 pelajar berprestasi dari Jawa Tengah ke Nusa Tenggara Timur.
The Company and its subsidiaries contributed to education sector by participating in succeeding the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara 2016 (Learning about Archipelago for Students 2016) program, initiated the Ministry of SOEs. The program, which was held for one week aimed to improve the students’ knowledge by learning about the culture and gaining more references about education in Indonesia through student exchange. The Company facilitated 20 outstanding students from East Nusa Tenggara to Central Java and received 20 outstanding students from Central Java to East Nusa Tenggara.
Kontribusi Perseroan terkait peningkatan kualitas pendidikan lainnya yaitu pemberian beasiswa kepada pelajar dan mahasiswa berprestasi. Pada 2016, Perseroan memberikan beasiswa kepada 510 pelajar SD, SMP, dan SMA di sekolah-sekolah yang berada di wilayah Gresik, Jawa Timur. PT Semen Tonasa memberikan bantuan pendidikan kepada 310 pelajar SD, SMP, dan SMA, serta 136 mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi dengan total anggaran Rp962 juta.
The Company contributed to quality of education improvement by giving scholarships to outstanding students and university students. In 2016, the Company granted scholarships to 510 students from elementary, junior high and high schools in Gresik, East Java. PT Semen Tonasa provided education assistance to 310 students of elementary school, junior high and high schools, and 136 university students with a total budget of Rp962 million.
Selain memberikan beasiswa pendidikan, Perseroan bersama entitas anak usaha berpatisipasi aktif mendukung program Sekolah Adiwiyata yang diinisiasi Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan. Tahun 2016, sekolah di bawah naungan Semen Indonesia Foundation (SMIF), Semen Padang dan Semen Tonasa mendapat penghargaan Adiwiyata.

Mempertahankan Kinerja Ekonomi Maintaining Economic Performance
Transformasi biaya (cost transformation) melalui efisiensi dan sinergi mampu menjadi strategi utama dalam mempertahankan kinerja ekonomi di 2016. Informasi ini disajikan dalam laporan keberlanjutan sebagai aspek material karena kinerja ekonomi menjadi dasar untuk menggerakan semua kegiatan Perseroan. Cost transformation through efficiencies and synergy has managed to be a key strategy in maintaining economic performance in 2016. This information is presented in the sustainability report as a material aspect because economic performance is the basis to run all of the Company’s activities.
Salah satu penerapan transformasi biaya Perseroan yaitu dengan mesinergikan program pemasaran kedalam program CSR, guna memperkuat posisi produk dan merek, serta mempertahankan loyalitas pelanggan. Melalui Program Kemitraan, Perseroan memperkuat sinergi dengan distributor dan peritel atau toko bangunan sebagai ujung tombak penjualan produk. [G4-DMA]
