Achieving an adequate intake of calcium (Ca) during adolescent is crucial t0 physical growth development. Calcium is the main constituent of bone mass. Female adolescent appear to have the greatest capability to absorb calcium at about the time of menarche, with Ca absorption rate decreasing from then on.
