Neuromodulatie voor acute en chronische pijn: Spinal Cord Stimulation – Indicaties Indien het gaat om een gemengd pijnsyndroom dan kan ruggenmergstimulatie aangewend worden voor neuropathische pijn en/of ischemische pijn. Indien het gaat om een gemengd pijnsyndroom omwille van de aanwezigheid van een nociceptief pijnsyndroom dan dient de component neuropathische pijn of ischemische pijn de dominante te zijn in het klinisch verhaal en qua intensiteit van de pijn. Onder een gemengd pijnsyndroom word t ook sympathisch gemedieerde pijn beschouwd zoals bij het Complex Regionaal Pijnsyndroom.
Meest voorkomende indicatie in de pijnkliniek: Failed Back Surgery Syndrome = FBSS
