30
Acties • Er is (Big) data genoeg, maar datamanagement is (hoog-)nodig; • Zicht op details en er kort op zitten;
• Juiste tactische keuzes maken.

SHELL LNG FOR TRANSPORT Cees Dikker LNG Business Development Manager Europe
ENERGY OUTLOOK BY 2050
9 BILLION people, 75% living in cities (2 BILLION more than today)
2 BILLION vehicles (800 MILLION at the moment)
Many MILLIONS of people will rise out of energy poverty; with higher living standards energy use rises
Energy demand could DOUBLE from its level in 2000… while CO2 emissions must be HALF today’s to avoid serious climate change
Twice as efficient, using HALF the energy to produce each dollar of wealth
Renewables could supply up to 30% of the world’s energy

GATE: LONG-TERM LNG FOR TRANSPORT In July 2014, Shell was announced as the launching customer of new, dedicated liquefied natural gas (LNG) for transport infrastructure at the GATE (Gas Access To Europe) terminal. To serve marine customers in the port of Rotterdam, Shell intends to charter a specialised LNG bunker vessel with a capacity of around 6,500 cubic metres to facilitate ship to ship transfer operations, and also deliver LNG to secondary distribution terminals outside the port area. In addition, LNG will be loaded onto trucks and delivered to road customers. Shell will also provide LNG to an initial network of LNG refuelling stations at several locations in the Netherlands.

Disclaimer statement The companies in which Royal Dutch Shell plc directly and indirectly owns investments are separate entities. In this presentation “Shell”, “Shell group” and “Royal Dutch Shell” are sometimes used for convenience where references are made to Royal Dutch Shell plc and its subsidiaries in general. Likewise, the words “we”, “us” and “our” are also used to refer to subsidiaries in general or to those who work for them. These expressions are also used where no useful purpose is served by identifying the particular company or companies. ‘‘Subsidiaries’’, “Shell subsidiaries” and “Shell companies” as used in this presentation refer to companies in which Royal Dutch Shell either directly or indirectly has control, by having either a majority of the voting rights or the right to exercise a controlling influence. The companies in which Shell has significant influence but not control are referred to as “associated companies” or “associates” and companies in which Shell has joint control are referred to as “jointly controlled entities”. In this presentation, associates and jointly controlled entities are also referred to as “equity-accounted investments”. The term “Shell interest” is used for convenience to indicate the direct and/or indirect (for example, through our 23% shareholding in Woodside Petroleum Ltd.) ownership interest held by Shell in a venture, partnership or company, after exclusion of all third-party interest. This presentation contains forward-looking statements concerning the financial condition, results of operations and businesses of Royal Dutch Shell. All statements other than statements of historical fact are, or may be deemed to be, forward-looking statements. Forward-looking statements are statements of future expectations that are based on management’s current expectations and assumptions and involve known and unknown risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results, performance or events to differ materially from those expressed or implied in these statements. Forward-looking statements include, among other things, statements concerning the potential exposure of Royal Dutch Shell to market risks and statements expressing management’s expectations, beliefs, estimates, forecasts, projections and assumptions. These forward-looking statements are identified by their use of terms and phrases such as ‘‘anticipate’’, ‘‘believe’’, ‘‘could’’, ‘‘estimate’’, ‘‘expect’’, ‘‘intend’’, ‘‘may’’, ‘‘plan’’, ‘‘objectives’’, ‘‘outlook’’, ‘‘probably’’, ‘‘project’’, ‘‘will’’, ‘‘seek’’, ‘‘target’’, ‘‘risks’’, ‘‘goals’’, ‘‘should’’ and similar terms and phrases. There are a number of factors that could affect the future operations of Royal Dutch Shell and could cause those results to differ materially from those expressed in the forward-looking statements included in this presentation, including (without limitation): (a) price fluctuations in crude oil and natural gas; (b) changes in demand for the Shell’s products; (c) currency fluctuations; (d) drilling and production results; (e) reserve estimates; (f) loss of market share and industry competition; (g) environmental and physical risks; (h) risks associated with the identification of suitable potential acquisition properties and targets, and successful negotiation and completion of such transactions; (i) the risk of doing business in developing countries and countries subject to international sanctions; (j) legislative, fiscal and regulatory developments including regulatory measures addressing climate change; (k) economic and financial market conditions in various countries and regions; (l) political risks, including the risks of expropriation and renegotiation of the terms of contracts with governmental entities, delays or advancements in the approval of projects and delays in the reimbursement for shared costs; and (m) changes in trading conditions. All forward-looking statements contained in this presentation are expressly qualified in their entirety by the cautionary statements contained or referred to in this section. Readers should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements. Additional factors that may affect future results are contained in Royal Dutch Shell’s 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2011 (available at www.shell.com/investor and www.sec.gov ). These factors also should be considered by the reader. Each forward-looking statement speaks only as of the date of this presentation, March 25 , 2013. Neither Royal Dutch Shell nor any of its subsidiaries undertake any obligation to publicly update or revise any forward-looking statement as a result of new information, future events or other information. In light of these risks, results could differ materially from those stated, implied or inferred from the forward-looking statements contained in this presentation. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) permits oil and gas companies, in their filings with the SEC, to disclose only proved reserves that a company has demonstrated by actual production or conclusive formation tests to be economically and legally producible under existing economic and operating conditions. We may have used certain terms in this presentation that SEC's guidelines strictly prohibit us from including in filings with the SEC. Shell GTL Fuel is vrijwel vrij van zwavel en aromaten*** * Not statistically significant - estimate of upper boundary of benefit ** Not measured at standard test temperature (5°C and 40° rather than 23°C) *** The theoretical SOx reduction benefit from Shell GTL Fuel is close to 100% for all Euro levels since Shell GTL Fuel contains virtually no sulphur. Source of data: The benefits achieved are based on Shell in-house studies and collaborative field trials (with vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators) with Shell GTL Fuel.

Shell GTL Fuel – CO2 emissies
Shell uses the Life Cycle or Well-to-Wheels (WtW) method for comparing CO2 emissions, in line with industry practice. On a WtW basis, GTL products are broadly comparable with similar products from conventional refining. Differences in assumptions and methodologies can lead to variations in the results.
The European Commission has reviewed the CO2 values for various fuels on a WtW basis. The final proposal from the Commission for the Fuels Quality Directive Annex 7a1 includes the use of a single industry average greenhouse gas intensity value for diesel that will also apply for GTL gasoil volumes. It also references a WtW CO2 value for GTL that is broadly in line with refinery diesel (94.3 gCO2eq/MJ for GTL vs. 95.1 gCO2eq/MJ for diesel).
Certain municipalities and legislations reference tank-to-wheels CO2 emissions (TtW), and many fleet operators report or are regulated on them. Tank-to-wheels emissions from Shell GTL Fuel have typically been measured at 4% to 5% lower than standard crude-derived diesel.

Shell GTL Fuel – Locale emissies TNO heeft op 16 september 2014 een rapport uitgebracht over alle bij haar bekende testresultaten van GTL. De conclusie van het rapport is: ‘It can be concluded that pollutant emissions of existing fleets can be reduced significantly by the application of GTL. The reduction is instantaneous and can be seen as an alternative to replacement by newer or cleaner vehicles, ships or machines or it can serve as a complementary measure. In absolute sense, the emission reductions are the largest when GTL is used for relative higher polluting engines such as used in older vehicles or used in ships or mobile machinery.’
‘For the relative conventional ship engines, measurements showed NOx reductions in the range of 8% to 13% and PM reductions in the range of 15%60%.
