NORMEN BESCHERMENDE KLEDING EN HANDSCHOENEN Ter ondersteuning van de wetgeving rond persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (Richtlijn 89/686/EEG) werden een heleboel Europese normen voor beschermende kleding en handschoenen ontwikkeld. Deze normen zijn vooral opgesplitst in het type risico, waartegen de uitrusting moet beschermen: hitte en vuur, elektrostatische oplading, chemische producten, koude en slecht weer, slechte zichtbaarheid, snij- en prikwonden, …

3. BESCHERMENDE KLEDING EN HANDSCHOENEN TEGEN MECHANISCHE RISICO'S Mechanische risico’skunnen zeer divers zijn en aanleiding geven tot pletting, knelling, schaafwonden, snijwonden, prikwonden enz. Normen zijn dikwijls opgebouwd rond specifieke toepassingen zoals geknield werk, werk aan snel draaiende machines, zandstralen, werk met handmessen en mechanische messen e.d. Voor het werk met kettingzagen werd een aparte reeks normen ontwikkeld (EN 381 reeks).
