Vocabulary Bank •
Central portal for presenting, downloading, referering nad mangement of vocabularies.

For humans (website) and applications (API).
•
Vocabulary is a list of values for a specific data field (code list, classification, taxonomy, ontology, thesaurus).
•
Kennisnet is manager of the vocabulary, but the semantical responsibility is for the autority (SLO, COLO, a.o.).
•
At this moment mainly for metadata, especially classifications For example educational level and disciplines.
•

Relation vocabulary Mappings (cross walks) • Mapping is a relation vocabulary to be able to transform data based on the vocabulary, e.g. metadata. • A mapping is published apart from the vocabulary; each mapping has an authority. • Relations have type from ISO 5964 “Equivalences” : exact, inexact, partial / singleToMultiple of nonexact. • In each Mapping for each term from one vocabulary is determined which terms from the other vocabulary are related and the relation is described. • Also make a mapping for the transformation the other way around. • The need for mapping will increase in the future.
