What are we doing for intermodal passenger?
— Integrated transport systems — Offering flight+train tickets at the stations — Connection to the airports in Prague and Ostrava with bus shuttle — Possibility of buying the ticket for Prague public transport on all long distance trains — Possible rent of cars at the selected station — Transport and rent of bikes
Cologne, 18 June 2008
6
Integrated transport systems
Railway as a backbone in the Integrated Transport System 1. Prague & Central Bohemia Region 2. Eastern Bohemia 3. Northern Moravia
4. South Moravian Region 5. Region of Zlín 6. Tábor Area 7. Region of Pilsen 8. South Bohemia Region 9. Jablonec/Nisou 10. Náchod & Rychnov Area 11. Region of Karlovy Vary 12. Olomouc Region
Partners of each ITS: • Region • Cities • České dráhy, a. s. • Other operators
Cologne, 18 June 2008
7
Main challenges for Integrated transport systems • Every ITS has different tariff - complication for long distance passengers • Regional trains are ordered by Region and Long distance trains by state – difficult position to combine both demands on one infrastructure with one ticket • Convince region that railway is backbone of the system • Easy access to information about the journey for all passengers and not only the ones living in the region: – Before the journey (Electronic timetable for all modes of transport) – done in co-operation with Ministry of transport – When getting on at the station – During the journey (visual and acoustic)
Cologne, 18 June 2008
8
Possible solution for different tariffs in ITS ČD: In-karta Current usage: • In-zákazník, In-junior, In-senior (discount card) • In-gold (Net ticket 1. class) • Discount system Sphere
Future usage: • Electronic ticket for ČD and all ITS - needs co-operation with all region about the technical specification – all ITS has to have the same technology for Smart cards as CD
Cologne, 18 June 2008
9
Co-operation between ČD and Sky Europe – Combination of long distance flights with railway connection within the region – Large sales network ČD for ticket packages outside of Prague – Better way of getting to the airport compare to individual car transport for the customer and the airport – Additional services for incoming passengers with better access to the railway network
Cologne, 18 June 2008
10
Transport to and from the airport
— Frequent bus connection between airport and railway station — Railway ticket valid on these buses — Good connection for incoming passengers to the railway network — In Ostrava the bus shuttle from the railway station is free for the passengers with flight ticket
Cologne, 18 June 2008
11
Transport and rent of bikes — Transport of the bikes at all trains on the network — Bike racks at the stations — Rent of bikes at the station with free travel on trains
