The fifth edition of the CHRISTMAS FAIR known also as STŘÍBRNÉ VÁNOČNÍ DNY 2013 confirmed the increasing trend in the number of exhibitors, exhibition area as well as visitors, quality and popularity of this unique pre-Christmas event in the Czech Republic. Altogether 355 firms offered their products on the exhibition area of 8,000m2. Due to the great interest of exhibitors, the Trade Fair was extended with another exhibition hall. The success of various and high-quality offer of products and services was confirmed by the high purchasing power of 27,693 visitors. The Trade Fair news – sections of FASHION ZONE, CZECH CRAFT MARKET, ORIENTAL MARKETS, GASTRO ZONE and a comprehensive accompanying programme on the Trade Fair stage connected with performance of 22 schools and organisations, competitions for visitors, as well as for exhibiting companies enriched the event in a very positive way. We would like to express our thanks to exhibitors, professional and media partners and accompanying programme performers for their participation in the CHRISTMAS FAIR 2013 and for the excellent atmosphere which they together created. TRADE FAIR COMMENCEMENTVYSTAVOVATELÉ – GREETING TO SE EXHIBITORS PŘEDSTAVUJÍ On Thursday, 12 December, the already 5th edition of the Trade Fair of Gifts, Decorations and Household Goods known as STŘÍBRNÉ VÁNOČNÍ DNY 2013 (or CHRISTMAS FAIR 2013) was commenced by a greeting addressed to the exhibitors. The opening ceremony was organised with participation of not only representatives of ABF - the organising company, but also at presence of VIP guests, such as representatives of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) - Mr. Banerjee Shymali, Fashion Zone - Mr. Filip Keresteš and Director of the Ulice dětem (Street for Children) organisation, Mr. Daniel Lacek. A merry and admirable enrichment of the opening ceremony was an untraditional show of Matěj Kodeš, professional bubble maker, holder of several world records, where he presented original tricks and magic illusions with bubbles, such as closing a few children in a mega-bubble.
PRESENTATION OF COMPANIES The success of the Christmas Fair 2013 was supported mainly by traditional exhibitors from the circuits of leading Czech manufacturers and exclusive importers, to whom visitors look forward already every year, but also by this year’s innovations of the Trade Fair, which included the Fashion Zone, Oriental Markets, Trial and Creative Zones. The Fashion Zone addressed visitors with an original production of 31 designers and creators of independent fashion, on the Oriental Markets it was possible to see, among others, 21 Indian exhibitors with their ethnically focused original products. The general atmosphere was completed by the Gastro Zone with refreshment and various gourmet specialties. The Klasa brand offered tasting of the best Czech food products.
PRIVATE VIEW The private view of the Trade Fair event took place on the second day, with presence of Ing. Jaroslav Čížek, Chief Executive Officer of ABF, a. s. We welcomed an important guest, Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic, H. E. Mr. Shri Ashok Venkatesan. After the private view, the representatives of the countries visited together Indian exhibitors in the section of Oriental markets.
ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMMES STAGE PERFORMANCES
The main stage situated in HALL 5 was the place of rather diverse and very comprehensive accompanying programmes consisting of performances of 22 schools and organisations. Concerning music and dancing performances, spectators surely appreciated performance of Ji-Hong, extraordinarily talented violinist from the Vodičkova Elementary School, and of the “Masakrózní hustec” school band, children’s choir “Klíček” and the flute group “Notečka”. Dancing performance was demonstrated by the team of majorettes from Studio Bohemia, folklore group “Prstýnek” or the IRIS group which presented also fencing skills. The professional and dynamic performance of the Ulice dětem (Street for Children) on Tour 2013 project involved visitors into secrets of street dance, break dance, rapping or beatbox. Many visitors were impressed by models and original jewels of young designers of the FASHION ZONE, which were presented by designers in attractive fashion shows.
CREATIVE WORKSHOPS AND TRIAL ZONES
Creative workshops provided both children and adult people with possibilities of painting Christmas decorations, floristic secrets in ornamenting Christmas decorations, trying various drawing techniques with a Magic triangle, lighting Lego modular systems - Laser Pegs and many other creative skills. In trial zones it was possible to try cycling specialities and scooters, as well as funny games. The visitors were interested very much also in production of candles or demonstration of works with glass and ceramics.
TREE OF FULFILLED WISHES Ceremonial handover of gifts to children from Klokánek A beautiful tradition of the pre-Christmas Trade Fair is support and joy for children from the KLOKÁNEK centre, based on donations of Christmas gifts under the TREE OF FULFILLED WISHES. The Trade Fair exhibitors, visitors as well as organisers brought Christmas surprises under the Christmas tree which the children decorated with their own handmade decorations.

Signing sessions of Mr. and Mrs. Zvěřina, Genny Ciatti, Jaroslav Parči, Pavel Dolejška, Mc Metoděj&Mc Dozer, Geta, Deen, Wahe, Léňa Méďa and the entire 4C crew, Pentifull crew, MaTeO, Taz, Míra Zeidler, Zawa&Kubajs and the entire Joonglink people of C.C., Fu-Lang champion form the School of Cognition.

COMPETITIONS TABLE WITH THE BEST DECORATION
The competition was prepared by Svět 55plus, a magazine not only for active seniors and the entire family, in cooperation with students and professors of five secondary gastronomic schools from all over the Czech Republic. Students decorated Christmas tables according to their fantasy or regional habits, and visitors selected the most beautiful one. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS TREE The exhibitors made and decorated Christmas trees in both creative and traditional concepts, which made their expositions more beautiful. The visitors were selecting from eleven competition trees. The winning company obtained a voucher for 6m2 of the exhibition area at the CHRISTMAS FAIR 2014 free of charge. 1st place – Floristic studio of Radka Siblíková

GIFTS CHAMPION The exhibitors proposed their gift favourite in the competition where 29 firms were competing for the best gift of 2013, and the visitors were choosing among the firms exhibiting at the Trade Fair. The winning company obtained a voucher for 6m2 of the exhibition area at the CHRISTMAS FAIR 2014 free of charge. 1st place – MIX-TEE / Basilur Windows Teas 2nd place – Mgr. MARKETING CAMPAIGN The CHRISTMAS FAIR is a sales-presentation event focused especially on addressing end customers. The marketing campaign of the Trade Fair was followed this way too. All traditional marketing activities were used, especially in the region of Prague and Central Bohemia. The campaign which consumed non-negligible financial means contained a wide and diverse range of marketing tools. The large number of visitors as well as their high purchasing power confirmed the correctly targeted campaign.
