[email protected] Fax: 62‐274‐540739 Indonesian Language and Culture Intensive Course (ILCIC) programs are designed for foreigners who wish to learn Indonesian language, immersed in the culture and people speaking it. Specific intensive program are prepared for students who wish either to start or continue learning Indonesian language.
.: Academic There are several programs that are designed based on participants' needs. Tutorials are also provided to support the main course program.
.: Culture Class In addition to studying the Indonesian language, ILCIC students also learn about the Indonesian culture, such as playing Gamelan, practicing batik painting, and preparing Indonesian traditional foods and drinks.
.: Tours While studying in Yogyakarta, the students can also visit some cultural sites to escape from their routines, such as the Borobudur Temple, the Prambanan Temple, the Sultan's Palace and Malioboro Street, etc.

.: Levels
In order to maintain the interactive teaching and learning process in the class, the students will be classified into three levels based on the students' ability and knowledge on language. Each level has different objectives of study. 1. Beginner: Having completed the course, the participant is expected to be able to: • communicate orally in basic Indonesian. • communicate orally in daily situations. • read basic simplified passages in Indonesian. 2. Intermediate: Having completed the course, the participant is expected to be able to: • communicate orally in Indonesian. • write reasonably comprehensively in Indonesian. • read more difficult readings in simplified Indonesian. 3. Advanced and for Specific Purposes: At this level participants will deal with authentic materials that are suitable to their interests. The spoken, written, and reading skills are improved through discussions on current events or specific topics of interest. At this level, participants will have an opportunity to meet with experts in their fields to discuss their topics of interest.

Facilities and Accommodations Facilities provided by the Language Institute including, air‐conditioned rooms, language laboratory, libraries, internet workstation, internet hot spot, sport facilities, university's student activities club (photography club, martial arts club, choir club, etc.). The Language Institute will help the participant with accommodation preferences. 2
The University Guest Houses Here the participant can stay in a housing complex, five minutes' walk from the Language Institute. Every unit is furnished with housing facilities like the dining room and kitchenette, including two bedrooms. Family Home Stay If the participant wishes to experience the life of the Indonesian family, the Language Institute will provide one to live with. Others The Language Institute will help the participant to book a hotel room with our corporate rate if wishing to stay in a hotel near the Language Institute. The Language Institute also provides transportation services to deliver the participant to the Language Institute as well as bring them back to the hotel. SYLLABUS BEGINNER Syllabus and Description of Levels In every level, each book consists of 8 units in 3 subjects: Grammar, Reading, and Listening, but all aim to support learners in practicing their speaking/communication skill in Indonesian. Level Description Beginner
By the end of the course participants are able to speak Indonesian survival language. Participants will learn greetings & introduction, basic expressions in Indonesian to communicate in certain situations such as shopping, ordering food, asking and giving information & directions, travelling, in a post office and a drug store & hospital, discussing simple process of making things (batik, food, etc), and checking out from hotels; comprehend very basic simplified passages in Indonesian and write a short paragraph related to topics discussed in class.
