EMPIRICAL STUDY ON LOAN’S COLLECTABILITY ON MULTIPURPOSE CONSUMER CREDIT : BANK JABAR CASE KUSUMADITA AMALIA 19004020 Examination Date 8 August 2007 Graduation Date 27 October 2007 Undergraduate of Management Study Program Institut Teknologi Bandung, 2007 ABSTRACT Bank Jabar is the Local Government Bank in the West Java that has to help the development of citizen in West Java. Bank Jabar does the general bank do in their operational activities. Bank Jabar held the credit activity to increase the development of the citizen and to role the function as the Bank. The credit offered are generally divided into three that are working capital credit, investment credit and consumer credit. For working capital credit and investment credit usually proposed by company, because of that Bank can analyze the annual report of the company and the Bank has full information about its financial performance. Meanwhile, consumer credit usually proposed by individual, It result bank did not get appropriate data to analyze the financial condition of the individual and it may cause the high rate of non performing loan. This final project held to give the characteristic on the multipurpose consumer credit for Bank Jabar that is empirical analysis approach.Empirical study done by using the regression analysis of each variable with the dependent variable is the collectability of the bank. Data that will be used is consumer credit in multipurpose consumer credit primary data from the Main Branch of Bank Jabar in Bandung. Data that will be taken will be customer’s data and its performance of credit. The data include customer’s age, customer’s marital status, customer’s occupation, customer’s gender, interest loan, payment period, and principal. The final project is done by the two attempts after the process of trial and error by eliminating the variable that did not have the significant result. In the first attempt, all of the variables are inputted to the model to see the relationship to the dependent variable (collectability). The result arise when there is two variables that did not significant, those are interest and status. The second attempts done by eliminate the variable that did not significant in the model. The result shows all of the variables inputted in the second attempt are significant. Because of that, the attempt is done in the second attempt. The equation after the entire variable shows the variable indicates the significant result is: Collectability = 1.098– 0.593 Gender + 0.071 Age– 0.188 Payment period + 0.047 Principal – 2.693 z1 job – 1.052 z2 job.

ABSTRAK Bank Jabar merupakan Bank pemerintah daerah yang membantu perkembangan masyarakat di Jawa Barat. Bank Jabar melaksanakan kegiatan yang biasa dilaksanakan Bank umum dalam kegiatan sehari-harinya.Bank Janar membuka fasilitas kredit untuk meningkatkan perkembangan masyarakat serta melaksanakan fungsi dari bank Jabar itu sendiri. Kredit yang ditawarkan secara umum dapat dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) jenis yaitu kredit modal kerja, kredit investasi dan kredit konsumsi. Kredit modal kerja dan kredit investasi biasanya diajukan oleh sebuah perusahaan, oleh karena itu bank dapat menganalisa perusahaan itu dari laporan keuangan perusahaan dan bank memiliki informasi yang lengkap tentang kinerja keuangan perusahaan itu. Tetapi, kredit konsumsi biasanya diajukan perseorangan sehingga menimbulkan bank tidak memiliki data yang cukup untuk menganalisa kondisi keuangan dari nasabah tersebut dan ini dapat menimbulkan tingginya kredit macet. Tugas akhir ini dilaksanakan untuk melihat karakteristik dari kredit konsumsi multi guna Bank Jabar dengan menggunakan pendekatan empiris. Empirical analisis akan menggunakan pendekatan regresi terhadap tiap variabel dengan variabel tidak bebas yaitu kolektibilitas bank. Data yang akan digunakan yaitu kredit konsumsi multi guna dari Cabang Utama Bank Jabar di Bandung. Data yang akan diambil berupa data nasabah dan performansi dari kredit tersebut. Tugas akhir ini selesai dalam dua percobaan setelah proses trial& error dengan mengeliminasi variabel yang tidak memiliki hasil yang signifikan terhadap model. Di percobaan pertama, semua variabel dimasukkan ke dalam model untuk melihat hubungan terhadap variabel tak bebas (kolektibilitas). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ada dua variabel yang tidak memiliki signifikan terhadap model, yaitu bunga dan status. Percobaan kedua dilaksanakan dengan tidak memasukkan variabel yang tidak signifikan di dalam model. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa semua variabel yang dimasukkan ke dalam percobaan kedua signifikan. Karena itu, percobaan berhenti pada percobaan kedua. Persamaan setelah semua variabel menunjukan hasil yang signifikan adalah : Koletibilitas = 1.098– 0.593 Jenis Kelamin + 0.071 Usia– 0.188 Jangka waktu kredit + 0.047 Plafon – 2.693 job1 – 1.052 job2.
