Siemens provides powerful drive system for Indonesian cement production plant Supply of Integrated Drive System (IDS) for one of the biggest cement producers in Indonesia New Tuban production line for 4,000 metric tons of cement per day High availability and reliability with low maintenance expenses
Siemens has received an order from ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG to supply an Integrated Drive System for the expansion of PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk.’s cement plant in Java. As one of the top three cement producers in the country, with an annual production capacity of 8.2 million tons, the cement producer is expanding its facilities by a second production line. Upon completion it will have a daily capacity of 4,000 tons of cement. Operation is due to commence mid-2015.
The supplied Integrated Drive System will comprise low- and medium-voltage motors as well as the associated Sinamics and Sinamics Perfect Harmony drives including the required converter transformers, starters and compensation systems. The supply package contains 14 single-motor and multi-motor drives, 22 induction motors, one slip ring motor for the raw mill main drive and six gear units. The drives from Siemens will ensure reliable operation with reduced maintenance expenses. Thus Holcim opted for variable-speed drives rather than the highmaintenance slip ring motors with electromechanical starting devices. Therein the 5.2 megawatts cement mill drive is particularly powerful. High availability and reliability are provided by Sinamics Perfect Harmony drives with cell bypass for example: this option ensures automatic bypass of a failed power cell in less than 250 milliseconds. All the variable-speed medium-voltage drives in the plant are equipped this technology. solutions with a common power supply infeed instead of individual converters for each cooling fan. Indonesia is an important production location for Southeast Asia: in 2013, the country's cement market had double-digit growth rates. In 2012, Siemens already fitted out the cement factory in Tuban with the complete drive equipment for the first production line. Production commenced in October of last year. “By placing the followon contract with Siemens, we want to ensure professional project management and the smooth operation of our plant”, says Sidik Darusulistyo, plant manager at PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk.
Siemens’ scope of supply for the cement plant in Tuban, Java, includes the drive for the rotary kiln.

Siemens memasok Sistem Penggerak andal untuk pabrik semen di Indonesia Sistem Penggerak Terpadu (IDS) dipasok untuk salah satu produsen semen terbesar di Indonesia Kapasitas lini produksi Tuban yang baru adalah 4.000 metrik ton semen per hari Sistem ini memiliki tingkat ketersediaan dan keandalan yang tinggi dengan biaya perawatan rendah Baru-baru ini, Siemens menerima pesanan dari ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG untuk memasok Sistem Penggerak Terpadu atau Integrated Drive System (IDS) untuk kepentingan perluasan pabrik semen PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk di Jawa Timur. Sebagai salah satu dari tiga produsen semen terbesar di Indonesia, dengan kapasitas produksi tahunan hingga 8,2 juta ton, Holcim bermaksud memperluas fasilitas usahanya dengan menambah lini produksi. Bila telah selesai, pabrik semen ini akan memiliki kapasitas produksi harian hingga 4.000 ton semen. Kegiatan operasi ditargetkan segera dimulai pada pertengahan 2015.
IDS yang dipasok oleh Siemens terdiri dari motor bertegangan rendah dan menengah, lengkap dengan tipe penggerak Sinamics dan Sinamics Perfect Harmony. Sistem terpadu ini menjamin keandalan operasi dengan mengurangi biaya pemeliharaan. Inilah alasan Holcim lebih memilih IDS Siemens yang memiliki kecepatan bervariasi ini. Penggerak Sinamics Perfect Harmony khususnya menawarkan tingkat ketersediaan dan keandalan yang tinggi melalui teknik pintasan sel. Opsi ini memastikan pintasan otomatis dalam waktu kurang dari 250 milidetik apabila terjadi kegagalan sel daya. Selain itu, IDS juga memiliki kemampuan meminimalkan distorsi tegangan melalui pemanfaatan unit modular kabinet.
