Kesimpulan Penataan partikel cenosphere pada pembuatan geopolimer telah meningkatkan densitas dari geopolimer. Dari pengamatan diperoleh bahwa sampel CC6 dengan komposisi >150 µm : 125-150 µm : 75-125 µm sebesar 65% : 14% : 21% memiliki densitas 0,34 g/ml. Sedangkan, densitas terkecil dimiliki oleh sampel C1 dengan ukuran partikel 75-125 µm yaitu sebesar 0,16 g/ml. Semakin kecil ukuran partikel cenosphere akan meningkatkan kuat tekan geopolimer ysng dihasilkan. Kuat tekan paling besar diperoleh sampel C1 yaitu sebesar 19,42 MPa sedangkan yang paling kecil adalah sampel CC3 yaitu 9,43 MPa. Penataan partikel cenosphere pada pembuatan geopolimer meningkatkan kuat tekan geopolimer dibandingkan jika tidak dilakukan penataan partikel. Kuat tekan sampel CC1 hingga CC6 lebih besar dibandingkan sampel C3 yang memiliki ukuran partikel seragam dan paling besar, kecuali pada sampel CC3. Hasil analisa SEM menunjukkan bahwa partikel cenosphere yang lebih kecil telah mengisi kekosongan di selasela partikel yang lebih besar. Namun, menempelnya partikel kecil ke permukaan partikel besar setelah geopolimerisasi menyulitkan penataan partikel melalui vibrasi. 5.2
Saran Penelitian lanjutan perlu dilakukan untuk penyempurnaan penelitian ini. Dengan menaikkan rasio ukuran partikel yang terdekat bisa dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan penataan partikel. Metode sintesis geopolimer yang lain bisa dikembangkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan menempelnya partikel kecil

50 setelah terjadi geopolimerisasi. Metode steam curing bisa dikembangkan dimana seluruh bahan yang telah dilakukan perhitungan komposisi ukuran partikel yang sesuai berada dalam keadaan kering.

BIODATA PENULIS Penulis bernama Galih Setyo Putro, lahir di Ngawi, 23 Nopember 1984. Penulis menyelesaikan pendidikan dasar dan menengah di Bojonegoro, antara lain SDN Kadipaten IV, SMP Negeri I Bojonegoro dan SMA Negeri I Bojonegoro. Pada tahun 2003, penulis diterima sebagai mahasiswa di jurusan Kimia FMIPA Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya melalui jalur PMDK Reguler. Di jurusan kimia ini, penulis mengambil bidang studi Kimia Fisik dengan topik geopolimer. Selain kuliah, penulis juga aktif di organisasi intra kampus di antaranya UKM Pramuka Gudep Surabaya 610-611 dan Himpunan Mahasiswa Kimia (HIMKA). Bahkan pada tahun 2005, penulis sempat menjadi Ketua UKM Pramuka ITS. Salah satu prestasi yang sempat diraih adalah menjadi juara II Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah dalam Kemah Bakti Racana Nasional (Kembaranas) tahun 2006 di Universitas Soedirman, Purwokerto. Penulis juga pernah dikirim untuk mengikuti “APR Workshop on Developing Partnership Through Public Relation” yang diselenggarakan oleh Asia Pasific Regional Scout Beaureau pada tahun 2006. Pada tahun 2009, Artikel penulis yang berjudul “Beton Ringan Berbasis Geopolimer dari Cenosphere Abu Layang Batubara” mendapatkan penghargaan dari DIKTI dalam Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Artikel Ilmiah (PKM-AI).
