Pudding Rules! Between Chipping Camden and the little town of Mickleton, three miles to the north, is the Three Ways House Hotel, housing the famous Pudding Club.

From an informal fun evening, the club meetings became more and more regular over the years. The Three Ways House Hotel itself has transformed into a pudding paradise with some of its 48 rooms being designed on pudding themes to provide a complete pudding package for visitors. To attend the group’s Friday night meetings, you do not have to be a member, but you do need a reservation. The evening starts at 7:30pm with an introduction to the rules and history of the club. After a choice of three modest main courses the main business of the evening begins when seven traditional puddings are paraded with ceremony - and cheers of anticipation. These will include well known favourites like Sticky Toffee and Date, as well as the more unusual such as Sussex Pond and Lord Randall’s Pudding. Puddings are served with custards and you can eat as much as you like, provided you stick to the rules. For example, you can only have one pudding on your plate at a time. Afterwards you can relax with coffee and tea while casting your vote for “Pudding of the Night”.

It all started in 1985, when frozen cheesecake and cakes tasting of cardboard d were becoming b i the th dessert choices at restaurants. People from the village would gather at the hotel and complain about the limp, frozen desserts, served at the end of a great English meal. “Instead of complaining about not being able to find the kind of pudding mum made, it was decided that one evening in the month would centre around just traditional puddings. And that is where it all began,” recalls Peter Henderson, the chairman of the Pudding Club.

In English, compound nouns are spelt as one word, as two words or with a hyphen (-). There are no fixed rules. In het Engels worden samengestelde zelfstandige naamwoorden gespeld als één woord, als twee woorden of met een liggend streepje. Er zijn geen vaste regels voor.
1.2 PROPER NOUNS eigennamen
Like in Dutch, English proper nouns are written with a capital letter. But there are differences. Engelse eigennamen worden met een hoofdletter gespeld, zoals in het Nederlands. Maar er zijn verschillen.

Can - could, must, shall - should, will - would, are modal auxiliary verbs. Like their Dutch equivalents, they do not express what happens or happened, but what is advisable, allowed, forbidden ... to happen or what probably, certainly ... happened or will happen. 16.2 INVERSION inversie
Inversion is when the verb precedes the subject. There is much more inversion in Dutch than in English. Inversie betekent dat het werkwoord het onderwerp voorafgaat. Er is veel meer inversie in het Nederlands dan in het Engels.
Gisteren kwam ik laat thuis. home late.) At home there are no problems. (NOT: At home are there no problems.) Because I was angry, she started to cry. (NOT: …, started she to cry.)
Thuis zijn er geen problemen. Omdat ik boos was, begon zij te wenen.
There is inversion in all questions except in question-word questions to the subject. In that case the subject precedes the verb. Alle vragen hebben inversie, behalve de vraagwoordvragen naar het onderwerp. In dat geval staat het onderwerp vóór het werkwoord.
But:
Are you lonesome tonight? Do you believe in UFOs? When did the plane land? Who came to pick you up at the airport? (question to the subject) What happened when you came home? (question to the subject)
