…..beyond the limit of our eyes ,To reveal the secret of the world around us,. Now we are going even further, looking far above us, to reveal the invisible secrets of the very ages of our world. Our final journey takes us on the hunts for the most illusive events of the invisible world. We are tempting to find the spectacular lightning formation, fifty miles wide, but so fast, its virtually invisible. Brief glimpses of this phenomenon have been mistaken for UFO’s. They called …sprites. Now a team of scientist is heading high above the clouds to try to catch them on high-speed camera. Sprites are large-scale electrical discharges that occur high above thunderstorm clouds, or cumulonimbus, giving rise to a quite varied range of visual shapes flickering in the night sky. They are triggered by the discharges of positive lightning between an underlying thundercloud and the ground. Sprites appear as luminous reddish-orange flashes. They often occur in clusters within the altitude range 50–90 km above the Earth's surface. Sporadic visual reports of sprites go back at least to 1886, but they were first photographed on July 6, 1989 by scientists from the University of Minnesota and have subsequently been captured in video recordings many thousands of times. Sprites are sometimes inaccurately called upper-atmospheric lightning. However, sprites are cold plasma phenomena that lack the hot channel temperatures of tropospheric lightning, so they are more akin to fluorescent tube discharges than to lightning discharges
BAGAIMANA SPRITES Proses Intermingle Lintas disiplin dan generasi NGAYAH Inspiring and Inspired Menghadirkan kosmologi Bali, menghadirkan filosofi luhur masyarakat Bali sekaligus memotret perubahan sosial yang tengah terjadi. Dia adalah pertunjukan proses, namun juga total art.
KONSEP UTAMA SPRITES Komposisi Secara Main Event, kegiatan ini terbagi dalam 3 kerangka utama PROSES PENGHADIRAN TOTAL ART, yang mengacu pada konsep Jajar Pageh yaitu komposisi yang dipergunakan dalam membangun Gending dalam Seni karawitan di bali (lihat Rembang), terdiri dari Gineman (opening), Pengawak (inti utama), Pengembang, Pekaat (penutup). Penambahan Pengembang (transisi) diantara Pengawak dan pekaat merupakan cerminan yang umumnya dilakukan oleh masyarakat Bali didalam prsosesi upacara Adat yang memerlukan waktu panjang, sebagai jeda (Istirirahat sejenak). Umumnya dihadirkan kesenian yang bersifat menghibur seperti wayang Kulit, Arja dan sebagainya. Ritme 2

Rentang waktu „sprites‟ selama 3 bulan serta ritme penghadiran/perfomance „sprites‟ akan dibagi dalam 9 Pengawak sprites yang berkelanjutan, dengan pemilihan waktu yang mengacu pada Lunar kalender. Berdasarkan pada Lunar kalender, akan diperoleh 2 Tilem dan 3 bulan Purnama, sedang 4 perfomance(akan disebut sebagai Penyelag) lain akan mengacu pada waktu luang dari public seperti weekend atau Public holidays.
Waktu Bulan ini juga merupakan bulan-bulan dimana angin akan berhembus dominantly konstan, serta posisi matahari yang agak ke utara serta effect ambience dan Shadow yang akan ditimbulkan. Elemen ini akan terlibat pada pembentuk konsep penghadiran 9 sprites, dan secara langsung integrated dengan Kosmos. Lirik Untuk menghantarkan atau menghadirkan JIWA/ROH dari sprites, akan diawali oleh perwujudannya dalam bentuk Lirik(?) yang nantinya akan menjadi salah satu dasar panduan pengembangan dan penjabaran konsep masing-masing Pengawak/performances, yang akan di EXPLORE dan brainstorming bersama Pranita Dewi. Nada dan Warna Lirik tersebut nantinya juga akan menjadi sumber inspirasi pengembangan NADA dan WARNA dari „sprites‟ oleh Yudane. 9 is the number of ’sprites’ (see yokasara.com/blog for the story behind)

Gineman, „sprites‟ akan bergerak secara berkelanjutan/evolving, yang akan dimulai dari Opening, sebagai awal pembuka proses „pencarian‟ yang mana „sprites‟ highlight akan dihadirkan pada hadirin guna memberikan gambaran didalam mengikuti ataupun menyimak proses berkelanjutan dari kreasi-kreasi para Artist/seniman yang berpartisipasi dalam acara 3 bulan ke depan. Pengawak, merupakan inti utama program, terdiri dari 9 SEQUENCES bagian proses kreasi berkelanjutan yang memadukan beragam bentuk kesenian dalam 9 scenography yang berbeda namun bertalian. Satu sama lain saling membangun, menyusun kepaduan di mana salah satu seniman berkreasi di satu waktu, dan dilanjutkan oleh seniman ATAU DESIGNER lainnya. Jadi, selama kegiatan akan terjadi sebentuk aliran (flow) kreativitas. Metode PROSES perwujudan sembilan unsur ini disebut juga dengan intermingle, yakni di mana setiap bidang atau bagian saling memberikan kontribusi kreasinya masing-masing. Pengembang, Pengembang merupakan performances yang berfungsi sebagai selipan, sebuah jeda yang menghantar penampilan 9 pengawak sebelumnya menuju proses akhir, namun tidak berarti bahwa nilai/value dari penghadiranpenghadiran pada Pengembang ini tidak memiliki nilai yang setara dengan
Pengawak. Pengembang mungkin akan menjadi moment Pemaknaan, introspeksi, refresh, recall, dan bukan pula kilas balik. Pekaad, Closing, penghadiran rekaman seluruh proses yang akan disajikan dalam berbagai metode dan multimedia.

„SPRITES‟ adalah Pertalian proses-proses „ledakan‟ kecil yang kemudian terangkai pada harapan sebuah ledakan besar. Pembangunan konsep gagasannya akan diawali oleh Scenographer(s), melalui sebuah proses penggalian pada 9 Artist yang telah ditetapkan diawal proses, Penjabaran konsep menuju Implementations/Konsep Penghadiran yang mengacu pada Konsep Utama yang diuraikan dalam Lirik, nada dan warna, waktu serta Jadwal Penghadiran seperti yang telah diuraikan diatas. Konsep „penghadiran‟ tersebut selanjutnya akan menjadi acuan atau dasar penetapan yang akan dipakai oleh Scenographers untuk menyusun Scenario Perfomance, menetapkan Intermingler yang akan dilibatkan dalam masing-masing Perfomance Scenario, Elemen serta material yang akan dipergunakan dan sebagainya terkait dengan Sifat perfomance.

What is a Scenographer? What is Scenography? For many years there have been heated discussions at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology's conference sessions regarding the definition of scenography and the scenographer. In countries other than the United States, a Scenographer is a theatrical designer who specializes in designing all the visual elements of a performance, using a holistic universe approach to conceptualization. The controversies expressed at USITT sessions reflected the fact that, in the USA, most productions are realized by a team of designers. The scenographic method of conceptualization was comfortably adapted in other countries of the world where it is not unusal for a single designer to be responsible all of the design elements in a performance piece. The time span of the pre-production process is usually more generous due to state subsidized production funding. Designers and technical staff often work on a fixed salary year round, thus eliminating their cost from the budgeting for a specific production. As a result there is sufficient time for one individual to research, design and supervise the implementation of all the elements that make up a production. In the USA, the commercial production pre-production time is kept to a painful minimum because investors' money is limited and a fast return is needed. In regional theatre, audiences are limited and new productions are needed on a regular basis to keep them coming back. The shorter pre-production period results in the design responsibilities being divided up between "specialists" to ensure that each area is given the full attention required. As a result, designers who successfully work within the scenographic method of conceptualization develop exceptional skill in the collaborative process in order to be able to create a cohesive finished design.
Time has passed and the term scenography is becoming widely accepted by newer generations who have "grown up" with it. To those of us, who, in the "early days" endeavored to establish this (then new) way of approaching the design for a performance environment, it was an exhilarating battle of words and ideas. We scenographers who specialized in the visualization of the characters, found it difficult to convince the many who believed that scenography comprised of the sets, lights, sound and props, that costume designers were also scenographers. Now, published in 2002, there is a wonderful "little book" written by British Scenographer Pamela Howard, that explains what a Scenographer is: What is Scenography? (published by Routledge, 29 West 35th St., NY, NY 10001 and Routledge, 11 New Fetter Lane, London, EC4P, 4EE - ISBN 0-415-10085-2 (pbk) ISBN 0-415-10084-4 (hbk). She says it very well for all of us. I quote here some of her text: "The scenographer visually liberates the text and the story behind it, by creating a world in which the eyes see what the ears do not hear." "A scenographer is by nature a cultural magpie, delighting in the search for the ephemera of history and sociology. The variety of work that presents itself is part of the fascination of the subject, and satisfies an inherent and insatiable curiosity that wants to know not only the great events of history by the precise details of how people lived, ate, dressed, washed, and earned their livelihood." "Scenography - the creation of a stage space - does not exist as a self-contained art work. .......(snip)....... Scenography is always incomplete until the performer steps into the playing space and engages the audience. Moreover, scenography is the joint statement of the director and the visual artist of their view of the play, opera or dance that is being presented to the audience as a united piece of work." "The scenographer has to be an artist who can understand how to work with and incorporate the ideas of the director, understand text as a writer, be sensitive to the needs of a performer exposed to an audience, and create imaginative and appropriate spaces for productions........." (also understand music and sound as a musician and composer, movement as a dancer and choreogapher, and the effects of light and shadow as a fine arts painter and a photographer) "......I especially listen out for the sound of the words, the "musicality" of the text, the timbre and texture of the speech, trying to decide for myself what makes this play difference from any other – for example, the difference in sound between an Ibsen play and one by Beckett. Yoka Sara berperan sebagai scenographer utama, pengatur sequences dan menjaga benang merah penghadiran „sprites‟, yang akan bekerja secara terpisah bersama dengan scenographer lain yang akan ditunjuk olehnya untuk MENGEMBANGKAN lebih jauh Vision utama dalam Variant KONSEP PENGHADIRAN sesuai dengan pemahaman masing-masing scenographer tersebut, menggambarkan technical approach masing-masing penyajian yang nantinya akan menjadi panduan didalam penentuan Intermingler yang akan dibutuhkan atau terlibat pada masing-masing SKENARIO.
ARTIST ARTIST adalah 9 seniman dalam berbagai media yang akan dipilih dengan seksama oleh Yoka Sara melalui berbagai pertimbangan dan criteria (dedication to his/her Art, Inspiring Vision, Uniqueness and Value, Break through, willingness to share, Reputation) yang diharapkan akan memberikan kontribusi Nilai yang besar dalam sekuen penghadiran utama. , masing-masing intermingle hanya diberikan landasan waktu (schedule) berkesenian, serta pedoman umum kegiatan yang mencantumkan landasan filosofis yang diterakan dalam lirik dari Pranita Dewi. Masing-masing intermingle meresponnya dengan cara tersendiri, tanpa tidak saling mengetahui hasil karya intermingle lainnya. Guna menjalin kepaduan, skenograf akan memberikan pendampingan bagi setiap seniman dengan berpedoman pada gagasan kegiatan yang telah disusun.
