ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “The Analysis of Clauses in The Jakarta Post” dimana skripsi ini meneliti atau menganalisis tentang klausa yang ditemukan di koran The Jakarta post. Didalam koran The jakarta Post terdapat banyak artikel-artikel yang mana didalam penelitian ini hanya menggunakan artikel politik dan olahraga sebagai objek penelitian dan datanya. Tujuan penelitian skripsi ini adalah menunjukkan kategori klausa-klausa yang ada dan klausa apa yang paling dominan yang ditemukan di koran The Jakarta Post dalam artikel poltik dan olah raga. Kategori klausa-klausa tersebut adalah klausa bebas (Independent Clause) yang mana dibagi menjadi dua klausa verbal dan non verbal, dan klausa terikat (Dependent Clause) dibagi menjadi tiga, klausa adjective, klausa adverbial dan klausa nominal. Dalam analisis ditemukan semua kategori klausa tersebut didalam artikel politik dan olahraga di koran The Jakarta Post. Hasil analisis skripsi ini menemukan 177 kalimat yang mengandung klausa dalam artikel politik yang terdiri dari: klausa verbal: 69, klausa non verbal: 31, klausa adjective: 26, klausa adverbial: 9, klausa nominal: 41, dan 162 kalimat yang mengandung klausa dalam artikel olahraga yang terdiri dari: klausa vebal: 66, klausa non verbal: 33, klausa adjective: 32, klausa adverbial: 13, dan klausa nominal: 18.
