Az első feladatban folyamatos jelen időt, a másodikban egyszerű jelen időt használtunk. A folyamatos jelen idővel két dolgot is kifejezhetünk: 1. valaki ebben a pillanatban, éppen csinál valamit, 2. a közeljövőben csinálni fog majd valamit. Dolgozom. / Dolgozunk. / Dolgozik. folyamatos jelen idő
egyszerű jelen idő
I am working.
We are working.
He is working.
I xxx work.
He xxx works.
Am I working?
Are we working?
Is he working?
Do I work?
Does he work?
I’m not working.
We aren’t working.
He isn’t working.
I don’t work.
He doesn’t work.
Aren’t we working?
Isn’t he working?
Don’t I work?
Doesn’t he work?
Ain’t Aren’t
I working?
Pl. While Tom and Irene wait on the guests, the cooks work busily in the kitchen.

1.
Laura and Joseph Cranberry are in their shop on the corner. They are working hard2 (they are making an

of the
products4),
and they are really
worried5
because Mr Raspberry, Laura’s
father is missing6. Mr Cranberry doesn’t like Mr Raspberry, his father-in-law7 too much, but he understands8 the worry9 of his wife. What is more, he likes Mrs Raspberry, his mother-in-law10 very much. She is at home, and she is desperate11, too. At the moment she is in the kitchen, she is cooking something. Nobody knows where their dog is. Huckleberry likes Mr Raspberry very much: they play a lot in their garden and take long walks12 outside the village13. At this time of the day, it is 8 pm, he (Huckleberry) is always at home fast asleep14. Where can he be now? He never misses15 a dinner16, either17. Well, what can they do? They are discussing18 in the shop while they are working busily19. Laura is making tea and Joseph is keeping shifting from foot to foot20.

What do you think, Joe? Have we got to call the police21? Well, maybe22 yes. Why doesn’t Liza want to call them? At 8 pm George likes to stay23 at home watching the telly24. He rarely25 goes to the pub, but then26 he always tells27 Liza. She always knows where he is. Maybe22 she knows something ..., Laura, is there some skeleton in the cupboard??? ’a skeleton in the cupboard = csontváz a szekrényben’ mondás, ami arra utal, hogy valakinek van valami sötét titka

Yes, ... and what if28 he is kidnapped29? If they ask for30 a ransom31? Maybe22 they are torturing32 him! A ransom30? Well, we haven’t got too much money! We are not rich. He is not rich, either17. I don’t know. He often tells about33 the treasure34. He thinks that it is in the garden under one of the statues35. Maybe under the fountain36. (surprised37) What are you talking about? What treasure34? Whose treasure34? (puzzled38) Well, I don’t really know. According to39 Daddy it’s fabulous40, and it comes from41 his great-great grandfather42. But Mom doesn’t believe43 him, neither do I ... but now that he is missing6, so maybe22 I do ... . Maybe there is an element of truth44 in his story ... ... and if we call the police, do you think we must talk about the treasure34? No, we mustn’t. If there is treasure34 somewhere, it’s ours. And maybe they want it. I mean45 the police. Or the state46, ... Oh.

Part two While Laura and Joseph are talking in their shop and Mrs Raspberry is cooking47 in her kitchen48, in the forest the animals are working busily49. The meerkat50 is watching51 the road and keeping guard52, the foxes53 are digging54 the tunnel55 between the basement56 and the rear57 garden, and the squirrels58 are biting59 the rope60 on Mr Raspberry’s arms and legs to pieces61. Soon, the squirrels are putting a long rope60 round Mr Raspberry’s ankle62, and the bear is pulling63 him out through the tunnel55 and taking him home on his back64. The fireflies65 are waiting to66 illuminate67 the tunnel55 and the way home68. Huckleberry and Blackberry are controlling69 the operation70. Ms Honeyberry is in an exclusive73 restaurant76 with her friend, Mr Elderberry77. Mr Elderberry is American, he is a very important78 person: a Senator1, a bank manager79, an entrepreneur80 and an amateur81 musician82 – he plays the saxophone83 in a jazz band84. Now he is listening to85 Ms Honeyberry carefully86, and he smells a rat87. Ms Honeyberry is speaking about fabulous40 treasure34 in a village nearby88: she says it is in a certain89 Mr Raspberry’s garden. However, he – Mr Elderberry – doesn’t want to get involved in90 a suspicious91 business92. He must be very careful93, he mustn’t make mistakes94. But, how can he tell it to Ms Honeyberry? She’s so sweet and beautiful. What white teeth! What red lips, like cherries95! And the scent96 of her perfume97! Ahh, how wonderful98 ... Later99 Ms Honeyberry can relax100 now. She knows that she can mesmerize101 Mr Elderberry easily102, so he is soon doing everything for her. His company103 – it’s a construction104 company in Washington DC – is opening a branch office105 in Berrybury to build106 a new residential area107 there. At the moment the company is snapping up108 the plots109 around and soon Ms Honeyberry can explore110 Mr Raspberry’s plot109. The only problem111 is that Mr Raspberry’s great-great grandfather’s land112 is ... well113 ..., she’s got to get the information114 tomorrow115! She must get the map116 of old Sir Crowberry117, Mr Raspberry’s great-great grandfather’s land! It’s ten p.m. now, and Mrs Raspberry, her daughter and her son-in-law118 are trying to119 find out120 what they can do. They do not want to call the police but they are very worried121. At this moment Laura can hear a noise122 from the outside123, ... then a thump124, ... and now everybody can hear Huckleberry who is barking like mad125! As they are opening the door they can see Mr Raspberry: he is lying126 at the bottom of the steps127 and Huckleberry is sitting on his stomach128 – he is a very little dog – and barking129.
