And what kind of hot vegetables do you have? W: We have carrots, French beans, broccoli, cauliflower au gratin. G: I’ll have the French beans. W: French beans. G: And I just remembered that you also do a lot of fox hunting. Do you have fox? W: No, we don’t eat fox, we just hunt it and use the fur for coats and… G: I wonder what they do with the meat. W: Baked Alaska? It’s ice cream which is covered in meringue and is baked in the oven. G: No ice cream. What was the next one? W: The next one was raspberry pavlova. G: And that’s...? W: That’s meringue which has already been baked, so it’s sort of hard and chewy. And there’s raspberries on it. It’s finished off with whipped cream.
G: That sounds’s interesting. W: Or a trifle... if you prefer. G: What’s a trifle? W: A trifle is a typical English dessert and it’s a sponge which has been seeped in fruit juice and alcohol, and we’ve used Grand Marnier and then there’s fruits and there’s a fruit jelly and topped off with custard and then whipped cream. G: I’ll have the second one. The... W: Ah, the pavlova, the raspberry pavlova. OK. G: And an espresso. W: With milk or without milk? G: No milk. Double espresso. W: Double espresso. G: Thanks. W: Shall I take that? G: (nods yes) umhm.
