Met enkele onaangename trekjes
90% + of the electricity pulled of the grid is wasted. Digital warehouses use about 30 billion watts of electricity, roughly equivalent to the output of 30 nuclear power plants. These physical realities are far from the mythology of the internet and the cloud. Google’s data centers consume nearly 300 million watts, Facebook’s 60 million watts. Of all things the Internet was expected to become the proliferation of backup diesel generators was not one of them.

En accepteer een 10-raadgevingen; vanuit een lange ICT geschiedenis 1. Vermijdt onnodige complexiteit. 2. Blijf weg van monolithische integratie, denk horizontaal. 3. Denk niet in “splendid isolation”, denk in ketens. 4. “You cannot manage what you do not measure”, meten is weten. 5. Duurzaamheid is relevant SLA, geef het voorbeeld. 6. Maak kosten/baten analyse voor de ICT investeringen. 7. Creëer een governance model voor de ICT infra en de gebruikers. 8. Centraliseer => consolideer => virtualiseer => clouds (?) 9. Laat je niet gek maken door leveranciers. 10. Vermijdt implementatie bedrijf-specifieke oplossingen, denk in industry frameworks, standaarden en oplossingen.
