Cooling of Electronics Course leader Course dates Location Price
Ir. H. Vink (The High Tech Institute) 6, 7 and 8 November Eindhoven € 1.650 excl. VAT
Content To prevent expensive redesigns and a delayed market introduction, thermal management needs to be part of the design process from the start. This course discusses thermal management and thermal design in all phases of the (electronic and mechanical) product design process, from an industrial point of view. It gives the electronic and mechanical designer concrete guidelines to make the right thermal design choices on system, module and component level. This is relevant for many applications, such as semiconductors, power electronics, the accelerated introduction of LEDs in lamps. Intended for Engineers (electronic and mechanical) involved with thermal design and cooling of electronic components, modules and systems, engineers confronted with thermal problems/issues, or those who simply want to understand and learn more about this important subject. Prerequisites: technical college/university education.
Electro-magnetic Compatibility Course leader Course dates Location Price
Dr. A.P.J. van Deursen (TU Eindhoven) 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 November Eindhoven € 3.495 excl. VAT (incl. book, lunches and one dinner) Optional exam € 200 excl. VAT
Content The EM-compatibility of equipment, components and systems is absolutely necessary for all applications in automation, in medical, consumer, automotive apparatus, etc. In order to develop a complex apparatus in the present market, EMC aspects have to be considered early in the design stage. The course provides the relevant theoretical and practical knowledge on EMC. You will learn the appropriate measures to prevent EMI-problems and to solve existing EMI-problems. The course focusses on insight, rather than just teaching how to remedy the symptoms. In order to obtain a sufficient level of EMC compatibility, the following subjects are studied: • Emission and propagation of disturbances • Susceptibility and immunity with respect to interference • Economical measures to reduce and prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI), without affecting the functioning of the apparatus proper. Intended for Engineers developing, manufacturing, installing or using electrical apparatus and systems, who want to prevent or solve EMI-problems. The course is also intended for people whose products have to meet the legal requirements concerning EMC.
