Nová konstrukce „Karla Gotta nemusím“ v češtině a slovenštině: případ lexikalizace, pragmatikalizace nebo začínající degramatikalizace? BJÖRN HANSEN – MAREK NEKULA – MONIKA BANÁŠOVÁ The new construction “Karla Gotta nemusím” in Czech and Slovak: a case of lexicalization, pragmaticalization or incipient degrammaticalization? ABSTRACT: This article deals with the construction “Karla_Gotta_nemusím” [I don’t have to have Karel Gott] which has recently developed in the Czech and Slovak youth language variety and began spreading to other registers. The contribution is based on a questionnaire carried out among students in Prague, Brno and Trnava. The linguistic analysis is inspired by Construction Grammar. In this specific constructional context involving negation, the original modal verbs of necessity are used as main verbs with the new meaning ‘to dislike’, which is accompanied by a change in the complementation pattern: instead of an infinitive phrase, the modals govern a nominal phrase in the accusative. The second part of the article is dedicated to the question of whether the development of the modals muset and musieť [must, have to] into the construction “Karla_Gotta_nemusím” presents a case of a) lexicalization, b) pragmaticalization, or c) degrammaticalization. This is an instance of a change from a modal auxiliary verb to a lexical one, which could be treated as one of the very rare instances of degrammaticalization. Key words: construction grammar, lexicalization, pragmaticalization, degrammaticalization, modal verb, modality Klíčová slova: konstrukční gramatika, lexikalizace, pragmatikalizace, degramatikalizace, modální sloveso, modalita

Letztere wird verstanden als „[…] a composite change whereby a function word in a specific linguistic context is reanalysed as a member of a major word class, acquiring the morpho-syntactic properties which are typical of that word class, and gaining in semantic substance“ (Norde 2009: 135).

Syntaktická proměna Českého akademického korpusu The syntactic transformation of the Czech Academic Corpus ABSTRACT: The idea of the Czech Academic Corpus (CAC) came to life in 1971 thanks to the Department of Mathematical Linguistics within the Czech Language Institute. By the mid 1980s, a total of 540,000 words were morphologically and syntactically annotated manually. After the Prague Dependency Treebank (PDT) – the largest annotated treebank of Czech written texts – was built, the conversion from CAC to PDT format began. The main goal was to make the CAC and the PDT compatible, and thus to enable the integration of the CAC into the PDT. The second version of the CAC is thus a complete conversion of the internal format and annotation schemes. The conversion of syntactic annotation began three years after the syntactic annotation of PDT was finished. Such a situation is exceptional because, to our knowledge, there is no other language for which such a significant amount of data is being annotated in two subsequent projects. This article summarizes the experience acquired during the conversion of the CAC syntactic annotation. Key words: corpus, syntactic annotation, annotation guidelines, annotation checking Klíčová slova: korpus, syntaktická anotace, pokyny k anotaci, oprava anotací

Novočeský lexikální archiv a excerpce v průběhu let 1911–2011 The Modern Czech Lexical Archive and its excerption 1911–2011 ABSTRACT: This article traces the development of the Modern Czech Lexical Archive over the last one hundred years. All Czech monolingual dictionaries and some specialized dictionaries have been created on the basis of this archive. The archive consists of two parts: the older card section (which is of cultural-historical value even today) and the newly-built electronic section (in the form of individual databases). Furthermore, the article describes the methods of excerption on the basis of which the linguistic material was systematically amassed. Last but not least, the article refers to important individuals who participated in the process of accumulating and building this significant linguistic resource. Key words: excerption, card lexical archive, material layers of the lexis, new electronic lexical archive, monolingual dictionaries, development of the Czech Lexical Archive Klíčová slova: excerpce, lístkový lexikální archiv, materiálové vrstvy lexika, nový elektronický lexikální archiv, výkladové slovníky, vývoj novočeského lexikálního archivu
