Among a lot of registers published by national Bugatti Clubs a big white area will be closed: The k&k Bugatti Register will cover all regions of the former k&k Austrian – Hungarian Monarchy, that means a major part of what is called now Mid Europe. We trace and research – as far as it is still possible now – all classic Bugattis until today (more than 250 cars!). The first Bugattis came into the country, when Austria still was an empire, and also all racing pilots as well as owners of the Bugattis up to the 1950ies or 1960ies were children of the Monarchy.

Im Alltagsberuf Zahnarzt gehört seine Liebe seit Kindheit alten Autos und seit ca. 25 Jahren speziell der Marke BUGATTI. Er half mit, den Bugatti Club Austria aufzubauen und ist dessen Sekretär und Registrar. Seit 2008 arbeitet er an diesem Buch, das laut seinen Worten „wahrscheinlich nie ganz fertig wird, da es immer neue Dinge zu entdecken gilt“. Graduated as dentist he loved classic cars in his entire life and – since about 25 years – especially the brand BUGATTI. He assisted in configuring the Bugatti Club Austria, whose secretary and registrar he is. Since 2008 he has been working at this book, which, following his words, “never will be finished, as there always are new things to discover”.

An automobile industry analyst by the day, and an automotive historian by the night – this is what Pál's been doing for almost a decade now. He's a member of the Society of Automotive Historians and since early 2011 he's the editor of http://magyarjarmu.hu which covers the history of Hungarian motoring, including its automobile and motorcycle industry, motorsport and trade.

Jan Králík (1954) nastoupil v roce 1973 do ČTK, od roku 1975 působil ve Světě motorů. Od roku 1985 má svobodné povolání, v roce 1988 absolvoval Rally Paříž-Dakar. Je autorem čtyřiceti knih, z nichž některé byly přeloženy do angličtiny, němčiny, čínštiny a dánštiny. Jako sběratel historických kol není tak úspěšný jako Milan s motocykly. Sbírat informace o vozech Bugatti v českých zemích je jeho letitá záliba. Více na www.jankralik.cz Jan Králík (1954) started his career in 1973 in the Czechoslovak Press Agency, from 1975 he worked as a reporter at the Svět motorů (world of engines) weekly magazine, he is a freelancer since 1985. In 1988 he attended The Rally Paris-Dakar. He is the author of fourty books, some of them translated into English, German, Chinese and Danish. MILAN TYMEŠ:
Milan Tymeš (1961) je technik a konstruktér, vystudoval průmyslovku se zaměřením na automobilové opravárenství. Už léta sbírá motocykly BSA a kola, literaturu a vůbec vše, co se značkou souvisí. Když toho měl asi 3 tuny, začal se věnovat značce Bugatti. Jelikož není naděje, že by toho co do váhy sehnal stejně tolik, začal sbírat informace a snímky všech bugatek, které kdy jezdily v Československu. Milan Tymeš (born 1961) is a technician and designer focused in automotive field. He had been collecting BSA motorcycles and bicycles, literature and ephemera since 1982. Having some 3 tons of BSA material he turned his interest on Bugatti. Because there is no chance of finding the same amount of stuff, Milan collects all information and pictures related to Bugatti and Czechoslovakia.
JAN NĚMEC: Jan Němec (1972) je archivářem a historikem, žije a pracuje v severočeském Děčíně. K bugatkám se dostal oklikou přes Albina Liebische, konstruktéra a výrobce motocyklových monster značky Čechie-Böhmerland, o němž napsal knihu. Léta sbírá informace o Alfredu Hiellem a Rudolfu Köglerovi z Krásné Lípy / Schönlinde, kteří dovezli první vozy molsheimského umělce do Československa. Jan Nemec (1972) is an archivist and historian, living and working in the town of Decin in North Bohemia. He came into contact with the Bugatti cars through Albin Liebisch, designer and manufacturer of motorcycle monsters Cechie-Böhmerland brand, about whom he wrote a book. For years he has been collecting information about Alfred Hielle and Rudolf Kögler from Krasna Lipa / Schönlinde, who brought the first cars of Molsheim craftman to Czechoslovakia.
STANISLAV KARGER: Budete-li potřebovat identifikovat automobil zakrytý jiným vozem na rozmazané neostré fotografii, obraťte se na Standu. Najdete-li kus starého zkorodovaného železa a budete chtít vědět, z jakého je to automobilu, zeptejte se Standy. Nebudete-li si jistí, že na dvou různých fotografiích je jedna a ta samá Bugatti... atd. Také sbírá a renovuje historické automobily. If you need to indentify the make of a car partly covered by other cars in a fuzzy picture, ask Stanislav. If you find an old broken rusty piece of metal and want to know what it is, ask him. If you need to know if the two different pictures show the same Bugatti… and so on. Collector and restorer, too.
JAKUB STAUCH: Born in Prague, trained as car body mechanic, studied at the technical high school and postgraduate conservation studies focused on metal restoration. Worked in the National Technical Museum workshop. From 1994 runs his own J. and D. Stauch car body business. Jakub founded the Czech Bugatti Club. Narodil se v Praze, vyučený autoklempíř, pak absolvoval průmyslovku a postgraduálně konzervátorství se zaměřením na restaurování kovů. Pracoval v restaurátorských dílnách Národního technického muzea. Od roku 1994 podniká ve vlastní restaurátorské a renovační dílně J. a D. Stauchové. Založil Český Bugatti klub.

Maciej Peda (1971) jest mechanikiem samochodowym z wykształcenia. Wraz z ojcem posiada małe prywatne muzeum samochodów zabytkowych. Amatorsko zajmuje się historią motoryzacji pisząc artykuły dla magazynów samochodowych. Brał udział między innymi w rajdach Mille Miglia i Monte Carlo Historique. Maciej Peda (1971) is a car mechanic by profession. Along with his father has a small private museum of vintage cars. He lives in Gostyn, small town in western Poland near Poznan. As an amateur he is involved in the history of the automotive industry by writing articles for classic car magazines. As Initiator of this common registerbook project between Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and all the other regions, which belonged to the former K&K Monarchy more than100 years ago I have the inner urge to say a big THANK YOU to my friends, who helped me to realize this idea:
Pál Negyesi, Hungarian automotive author and journalist, who had to fight against a strange system of registration in Hungary. Public authorities did not register type, chassis- or engine numbers of the cars besides normal data of the owners, but only brand and tyre sizes (!) of the cars, which did not make easier Pál’s research work. Milan Tymeš, Jan Králík, Jan Němec, Stanislav Karger, Jakub Stauch: Milan and Stanislav, the Czech Bugatti specialists, Jan Němec and Jakub, experts for early Bugattis and Jan Králik, successful author of many automotive books had to work themselves through an incredible number of cars and data, since we found out, that the long and well known list of Vaclav Petrik () has not been complete anyway. Daniel Tomičić, successful automotive journalist as well in Croatia had to find and dig out traces of Bugattism in a lot of areas, where the name Bugatti was a foreign word, although there existed a few Bugattis there. Maciej Peda, not only mechanic & restorer, but also writer for Automotive journals had a hard search for Bugattis in Galicia and Bukovina, as also in this area there were only few cars.
