Gevolgen van 1 brief • Opsporing leidt tot 4 besmette ruimtes binnen Capitol Hill ● 2100 personen ondergaan een neusuitstrijkje – en een 3 daagse antibiotica kuur ● 625 personen met verhoogd risico van besmetting ontvangen een 60 daagse antibioticakuur ● 32 personen hebben een positief neusuitstrijkje – (waaronder 5 eerste hulpverleners!) – Eerste hulpverleners hadden geen bescherming gedragen • 2 personen sterven

Response to intentional release; CBRNe-response ● In the Netherlands the response to CBRNe suspicious situations is multidisciplinary arranged in the so-called Protocol Suspicious Objects. ● The Dutch response-units cooperate according to this national protocol.

Ontsmetten ● Voor het ontsmetten van de transparante zak moet een verse chlooroplossing worden gemaakt. Voor het aanmaken van een verse chlooroplossing zijn 3 chloortabletten nodig per halve liter water. (let op spatten i.v.m. uw ogen en kleding!) Hiervoor zijn in de handel chloortabletten te koop (huishoud chloor is hiervoor ongeschikt).

Verpakken ● Voor het veilig verzenden van poederbrieven geldt de verpakkingsinstructie P650 (ADR) voor transport van diagnostisch material (UN3373). Hiervoor voldoen alle zakken met het UN3373 logo erop.
