TINJAUAN PUSTAKA
2.1
TeoriUmum
2.1.1 Definisi Jaringan Komputer Menurut (Sofana. 2011 : 4), Jaringan komputer (computer networks)adalah himpunan interkoneksi sejumlah komputer autonomous. Kata “autonomous” mengandung pengertian bahwa komputer tersebut memiliki kendali atas dirinya sendiri. Bukan merupakan bagian dari komputer lain, seperti sistem terminal yang biasa digunakan pada komputer mainframe. Komputer juga tidak mengendalikan komputer lain yang dapat mengakibatkan komputer lain restart, shutdown, merusak file, dan sebagainya. Dua buah komputer dikatakan “interkoneksi” apabila keduanya bisa berbagi resources yang dimiliki, seperti saling bertukar data/informasi, berbagi printer , berbagi media penyimpanan (seperti : hard disk, floppy disk, CD ROM, flash disk, dan sebagainya). Data berupa teks, audio maupun video, mengalir melalui media jaringan (baik kabel atau nirkabel) sehingga memungkinkan pengguna jaringan komputer bertukar file/data, menggunakan printer yang sama, menggunakan hardware/software yang terhubung dalam jaringan. Jadi, jaringan komputer dapat dikatakan sebagai kumpulan beberapa buah komputer yang terhubung satu sama lain dan dapat saling berbagi resources. Setiap komputer, printer, atau peralatan lainnya yang terhubung dalam jaringan disebut node. Manfaat dari jaringan komputer menurut (Tanembaum, 2003:8-10) dalam sebuah organisasi yaitu : 1. Resource Sharing Program, peralatan, dan data dapat digunakan oleh setiap orang yang terhubung dalam jaringan tanpa mementingkan lokasi resource dan pemakai.

3 2. Reliabilitas Dengan memiliki sumber alternatif persediaan, misalnya file-file disalin ke beberapa mesin lain sehingga jika satu mesin tidak berfungsi dengan baik (terjadi gangguan) maka salinan di mesin lain dapat digunakan.
Pada awal perkembangannya, jaringan sangat erat dengan media kabel sebagai penghubungnya. Tetapi seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi, penggunaan media nirkabel sudah banyak diterapkan. Selain karena banyaknya user yang lebih memilih menggunakan laptop karena mobilitasnya, perkembangan alat komunikasi seperti telepon genggam juga menjadi salah satu pemicu penerapan media nirkabel diberbagai tempat. Arah transmisi komunikasi data dapat berupa simplex, half-duplex, dan fullduplex (Stallings, 2007:67). 1. Simplex Transmisi sinyal pada metode simplex hanya terjadi satu arah. Hal ini menjadikan satu stasiun sebagai pemancar sedangkan stasiun lainnya sebagai pemerima. Pada metode ini, aliran data hanya dapat terjadi secara satu arah (dari pemancar ke penerima). Stasiun radio merupakan salah satu contohnya.
2. Half-Duplex Pada metode half-duplex, transmisi sinyal dapat terjadi secara dua arah. Kedua stasiun dapat bertindak sebagai pemancar dan penerima tetapi tidak bisa secara bersamaan melainkan bergantian. Sehingga pada metode ini aliran data dapat terjadi secara dua arah bergantian. Walkie-talkie merupakan contoh alat yang beroperasi pada metode half-duplex.
3. Full-Duplex Pada metode full-duplex, transmisi sinyal terjadi secara dua arah secara bersamaan. Stasiun-stasiun yang menggunakan metode ini bertindak sebagai pemancar dan penerima secara bersamaan. Aliran data pada metode ini terjadi secara dua arah dan bersamaan. Telepon merupakan salah satu contohnya.
4 2.1.2 Model Referensi Model referensi yang paling sering digunakan dalam jaringan adalah model referensi OSI dan model referensi TCP/IP.
2.1.2.1 Model Referensi OSI (Stalling, 2007:42-43). Model referensi OSI dikembangkan oleh ISO (International Organization for Standardization) sebagai model dari arsitektur protokol komputer dan rangka awal untuk pengembangan protokol standar. OSI sendiri merupakan singkatan dari OpenSystemInterconnection, yang kerap kali disebut sebagai “model tujuh lapis OSI” (Seven Layer OSI Model). Model OSI mempunyai tugas untuk membagi-bagi fungsi dari sebuah protokol menjadi beberapa layer. Setiap layer mempunyai properti yang menggunakan fungsi layer sebelumnya, kemudian mengirim pada layer berikutnya. 1. Physical Layer Physical layer merupakan lapisan layer yang paling bawah. Layer ini merupakan layer yang berhubungan langsung dengan hardware. Layer ini memiliki fungsi untuk mendefinisikan media transmisi, sinkronisasi bit, metode pensinyalan, arsitektur jaringan. Selain itu layer level ini juga berfungsi untuk mendefinisikan bagaimana NetworkInterfaceCard (NIC) dapat
berinteraksi
dengan
media
kabel
atau
radio
(nirkabel).
Physicallayer bertanggung jawab atas proses data menjadi bit dan akan mengirimkan data tersebut melalui media.
2. Data Link Layer Layer ini berfungsi untuk menyediakan link untuk data, memaketkan bit yang diterima menjadi frame untuk diangkut melalui media pengangkut. Pada layer ini juga berfungsi untuk flowcontrol, pengalamatan perangkat keras (MediaAccessControlAddress (MACAddress)), dan errorcorrection. Spesifikasi IEEE 802 membagi level ini menjadi dua level anak yaitu LogicalLinkControl (LLC) dan MediaAccessControl (MAC).
3. Network Layer
5 Layer ini bertugas untuk menyediakan koneksi dan pemilihan jalur antar dua sistem. Selain itu layer ini juga berfungsi untuk pendefinisian alamat IP (Addressing), serta membuat header dari frame yang akan dikirim (logicalprotocol), dan kemudian melakukan routing (networkrouting) dengan menggunakan router atau switch layer-3.
4. Transport Layer Transportlayer mempunyai tugas untuk membagi data menjadi segmen, menjaga koneksi dengan logika end-to-end antar terminal, dan menyediakan layanan yang reliable (dapat diandalkan). Layer ini juga akan memberikan tanda (acknowledgement) bahwa paket diterima dengan sukses dan mentransmisikan ulang bila ada paket yang hilang.
5. Session Layer Bertugas untuk mendefinisikan bagaimana koneksi dapat dibuat, dipelihara, dan dihancurkan. Sessionlayer juga menyediakan service kepada presentationlayer. Dan layer ini juga mensinkronisasikan dialog antara dua host layer representation dan mengatur pertukaran data yang sedang berlangsung.
6. Presentation Layer Berfungsi untuk mentranslasikan data dari applicationlayer yang akan dikirim ke dalam format yang dapat dibaca. Enkripsi, Dekripsi, Translasi, serta kompresi data juga dilakukan pada layer ini yang bertujuan untuk mengamankan data.
7. Application Layer Applicationlayer merupakan layer paling atas dalam model OSI dan layer yang paling dekat dengan user. Fungsinya antara lain sebagai antarmuka aplikasi dengan fungsionalitas jaringan, mengatur bagaimana aplikasi dapat mengakses jaringan, dan membuat pesan-pesan kesalahan. Protokol yang berada dalam lapisan ini yaitu HTTP, FTP, SMTP, dan NFS. 2.1.2.2 Model Referensi TCP/IP
6 TCP/IP adalah kemampuan untuk menghubungkan jaringan-jaringan komputer secara bersama-sama tanpa melihat adanya perbedaan. Yang tujuannya adalah
mengusahakan
agar
jaringan-jaringan
yang
telah
ada
mampu
mempertahankan diri dari hilangnya hardware-hardware subnet,dimana percakapan yang ada tidak terputus (Tanenbaum, 2006: 41-42).Adapun TCP/IP dibagi menjadi 4 layer, yaitu: 1. Host To Network Layer Di bawah internet layer terdapat ruang kosong yang besar. Model TCP/IP hanya menyatakan bahwa host harus terhubung ke jaringan dengan menggunakan protocol, sehingga host dapat mengirim IP melalui layer ini. (Tanenbaum, 2006: 44)
2. Internet Layer Tujuan dari internetlayer adalah untuk mengirimkan paket-paket IP yang berisi informasi tujuan paket dan memungkinkan paket-paket itu berjalan sendiri ke tempat tujuan dengan jalur terbaik. (Tanenbaum, 2006: 42). Beberapa protokol yang berfungsi dalam layer ini adalah : a. InternetProtocol IP merupakan protokol yang memberikan alamat untuk peralatan dalam
jaringan
komputer.
Fungsi
utama
dari
IP
adalah
connectionlessoriented, pemecahan (fragmentation) dan penyatuan (unification) paket data, dan meneruskan paket data (routing). b. AddressResolutionProtocol (ARP) ARP merupakan protokol yang melakukan translasi IPAddress menjadi MACAddress. ARP merupakan jenis protokol broadcast. c. ReverseAddressResolutionProtocol (RARP) RARP bertugas untuk melakukan translasi MACAddress menjadi IPAddress. Router menggunakan protokol RARP untuk mendapatkan IPAddress dari MACaddress yang sudah diketahui. d. Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP) Protokol ini digunakan untuk proses boot diskless workstation. Dengan adanya protokol ini, suatu peralatan dalam jaringan dapat diberikan IP address berdasarkan MAC Address-nya. e. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
7 DHCP dapat memberikan IP Address secara otomatis ke suatu workstation dalam jaringan yang menggunakan protokol TCP/IP. f. Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) ICMP merupakan protokol yang berguna untuk memberitahukan jika terjadi suatu masalah ketika pengiriman paket data.
3. Transport Layer Layer yang berada diatas internet layer pada model TCP/IP sekaang biasa disebut transport layer. Layer ini dirancang untuk memungkinkan peer entity-peer entity pada host sumber dan host tujuan untuk melakukan komunikasi. Pada layer ini terdapat 2 tipe pengiriman data yaitu : a. TCP (Transport Control Protocol) merupakan protocol reliable connection oriented yang mengijinkan sebuah aliran byte data menjadi pesan-pesan diskret tanpa eror ke sebuah mesin yang ada di internet. b. UDP (User Diagram Protocol) merupakan protocol yang tidak reliable dan connestionless bagi aplikasi-aplikasi yang tidak memerlukan pengurutan TCP atau pengendalian aliran bagi aplikasiaplikasi yang ingin melayani dirinya sendiri. (Tanenbaum, 2006: 4243)
4. Application Layer Application layer ini terdapat di puncak modek TCP/IP karena berisi bermacam-macam protokol tingkat tinggi. Protokol-protokol ini terdiri dari terminal virtual (TELNET), transfer file (FTP), surat elektronik (SMTP). (Tanenbaum, 2006: 43-44)
2.1.3 Topologi 1. Topologi Bus Sering disebut dengan "linear bus" karena komputer dihubungkan dalam garis lurus. Ini adalah metode paling simpel dan umum dalam jaringan komputer. Gambar X menunjukan tipikal topologi bus. Terdiri dari sebuah kabel tunggal yang disebut dengan trunk (juga disebut
8 backbone atau segment) yang menghubungkan semua komputer pada jaringan dalam sebuah jalur.

2. Topologi Star Dalam topologi ini, segmen kabel dari setiap komputer terhubung pada komponen yang terpusat yang disebut dengan hub. Gambar Y menunjukan empat komputer terhubung
dalam topologi star. Sinyal
ditransmisikan dari komputer pengirim melalui hub kepada semua komputer dalam jaringan. Topologi ini berasal awal awal perkembangan komputer ketika masih dihubungkan pada sebuah komputer mainframe.

9 Topologi ini mempunyai konsep
menghubungkan komputer
dalam sebuah lingkaran kabel tunggal. Tidak seberti topologi bus, tidak ada ujungnya. Sinyal berjalan searah mengelilingi lingkaran dan melewati setiap komputer, yang mana bisa bertindak sebagai repeater untuk memperkuat sinyal dan mengirimnya ke komputer berikutnya. Gambar Z menunjukan tipikal topologi ring dengan satu server dan empat workstations. Apabila ada satu yang rusak akan berdampak pada seluruh jaringan.

4. Topologi Mesh Pada jaringan menawarkan redudansi dan reliability yang baik. Dalam topologi mesh, setiap komputer terhubung pada setiap komputer lainnya dengan kabel yang terpisah. Konfigurasi ini akan memberikan jumlah jalur yang berlebihan sepanjang jaringan, jadi apabila ada satu kabel yang rusak, yang lain akan mengambil alih lalu lintas. Biarpun mudah dalam pemecahan masalah dan sangat dapat diandalkan, jaringan ini mahal untuk diaplikasikan karena membutuhkan banyak komponen (kabel, dsb). Sering kali topologi mesh dijadikan sebagai penghubung dengan topologi lainnya untuk membentuk topologi hybrid.

Teori Yang Terkait Tema Penelitian (Tematik)
2.2.1 Rendering (Saifuddin, Lubab, et al. ”Analisis perbandingan performansi proses rendering antara sequential rendering dan parallel rendering dengan menggunakan network render pada aplikasi Blender v2.64” 2012 :1-2). Rendering adalah proses pembuatan suatu gambar dari sebuah model abstrak geometri. Dalam proses ini terdapat banyak aspek yang perlu diperhatikan agar menghasilkan suatu gambar yang berkualitas, seperti bentuk geometri, sudut pandang, bentuk objek, pencahayaan dan pemberian bayangan. Proses render sendiri sudah digunakan dalam berbagai bidang, seperti arsitektur, video games, simulasi dan film animasi. Rendering merupakan salah satu tahapan terpenting dalam pembuatan animasi 3D. Dalam suatu animasi terdapat 25-30 frame untuk setiap detiknya agar mendapatkan animasi dengan gerakan yang halus. Setiap frame yang di-render akan diubah menjadi digital image yang umumnya disimpan dalam format JPEG, yang nantinya akan digabungkan menjadi satu file video animasi. Umumnya proses render sebuah animasi membutuhkan waktu berjam-jam jika sumber gambar yang akan dirender memiliki tingkat kompleksitas yang tinggi.
2.2.2 Blender

Blender adalah aplikasi open source untuk pemodelan objek 3D. Terdapat berbagai macam versi yang dapat berjalan di beberapa sistem operasi, seperti Linux, Mac OS, FreeBSD, dan Windows. Semua project data Blender disimpan dalam format .blend. Model 2D dan 3D dapat di-import dan di-export ke dalam berbagai bentuk format, seperti 3DS, AC, DXF, OBJ, X3D dan DAE. Hasil rendering objek model 2D maupun 3D dapat disimpan ke dalam bentuk image maupun video. Blender mendukung parallel rendering melalui plugin network render yang telah disediakan.
2.2.3 Network rendering dan cara kerja Blender Network Rendering adalah mekanisme render yang dilakukan menggunakan banyak komputer, dimana komputer-komputer itu terhubung dalam satu jaringan. Frame yang dirender akan dibagi kepada setiap komputer yang ada dalam jaringan sehingga

Dalam prosesnetwork rendering yang dijalankan pada software Blender, terdapattiga jenis komputer yang berperan dalam jaringan.Jenis komputer yang pertama adalah komputer client yang digunakan oleh animator untuk melakukan design 3D yang nanti akan di render pada tahap akhirnya.Kemudian yang kedua adalah komputer masteryang berfungsiuntuk menerima dan mendistribusikan task rendering dari client kepada semua rendering resource (slave).Master dapat juga ditugaskan pada salah satu komputer animator untuk memudahkan dalam memonitor network rendering.Jenis komputer ketiga yaitu slave komputer (server pada perusahaan) yang menerima task render dari masterkemudian melakukan rendering pada task yang diberikan. Ketika animator selesai mengerjakan desain 3D, maka selanjutnya desain tersebut akan masuk ke tahap rendering. Untuk melakukan rendering, animator akan mengirimkan task rendering ke jaringan komputer untuk dirender bersama oleh slave. Lewat komputernya (client), animator mengirim task tersebut ke master komputer untuk bisa didistribusikan frame-frame yang akan dirender kepada semua komputer slave.
12 Masterakan memperhitungkan beberapa faktor dalam menentukan distribusi frame kepada setiap slave yang ada. Faktor-faktor tersebut bisa dari komputer slavedan juga dari sisi tingkat kompleksitas masing-masing frame tersebut. Dari sisi komputer slave, master akan mendeteksi spesifikasi komputer seperti jumlah core, kemampuan hyper threadingnya, dan jumlah RAM yang ada pada setiap slave sehingga bisa menentukan komputer mana yang memiliki kecepatan terbaik. Selanjutnya, masterakan memeriksa kompleksitas dariframe yang akan dikerjakan oleh slave. Tingkat kompleksitas frame tersebut mencakupanti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, lighting, texture filtering, dll. Berdasarkan dari faktor-faktor tersebut, makaframe yang paling kompleks akan diberikan kepada slave dengan kemampuan rendering yang terbaik. Apabila terdapat slave yang sudah selesai merender framenya dan tidak bekerja, maka komputer tersebut akan dideteksi oleh master dan dipertimbangkan untuk penugasan frame berikutnya. Jika tidak ada lagi frame yang akan dikerjakan, maka master akan menugaskan slave yang tidak bekerja untuk membantu slave lain yang belum selesai melakukan pekerjaannya. Jika terdapat sebuah slave yang offline / mengalami gangguan, masterakan mengambil pekerjaan slavetersebut dan menugaskannya kepada slavelain. Fileyang akan dirender juga disimpan ke local directorydari setiap komputerslave yang bersangkutansetiap frametersebut akan diurutkan dengan nomor-nomor agar mudah untuk digabungkan kembali nantinya. Ketika prosesrendering dimulai, ada sebuah fiturqueue monitoring yang memberikan user kendali untuk memonitor dan mengontrol kegiatan network rendering tersebut. Queue monitor dapat digunakan untuk mengatur jalannya proses rendering seperti mengaktifkan, mematikan, dan menyusun ulang task sertaslave yang terlibat dalam network rendering. Fitur ini dapat diakses dari komputer master.

Implementasi Network Render juga memerlukan beberapa hardware yang digunakan untuk menggabungkan beberapa komputer menjadi sebuah jaringan komputer yang dapat memproses sebuah proses render secara simultan. 2. Switch Switch pada umumnya memang identik dengan hub, tetapi switch lebih “cerdas” dan memiliki performa tinggi dibandingkan dengan hub. Dengan mengantarkan pesan-pesan hanya ke device terkoneksi yang dituju , switch mampu menghemat bandwidth jaringan. Pada switch terdapat dua arsitektur dasar yang digunakan yakni : cut-through dan store-and-forward.Switch cut-through memiliki kelebihan disisi kecepatan karena ketika sebuah paket datang, switch hanya memperhatikan alamat tujuan sebelum diteruskan ke segmen tujuannya. Switchstore-and-forward merupakan kebalikan dari switch cutthrough. Switch ini menerima dan menganalisa seluruh isi paket sebelum meneruskan ke tujuan. (http://jr111.ilearning.me/, 1 April 2015)

14 Router adalah Perangkat jaringan yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan jaringan antar komputer, baik jaringan yang berbeda maupun sama dari segi teknologinya seperti menghubungkan topologi yang berbeda, dan router bekerja pada OSI layer 2, yaitu Datalink Layer. Perbedaan antara hub dan switch yang paling mendasar ialah dari caranya

Sedangkan router adalah alat yang digunakan untuk menhubungkan beberapa jaringan, seperti jaringan computer local dengan jaringan internet. 2.2.4 VLAN VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) 1. Definisi VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) (Hucaby, 2010: 65) menjelaskan bahwa Virtual LAN (VLAN) merupakan suatu kumpulan logical device dan host ke dalam suatu
16 broadcast domain yang diciptakan oleh satu atau beberapa switch. Broadcast domain yang lebih kecil akan membatasi device yang terlibat dalam aktivitas broadcast dan membagi device ke dalam beberapa grup berdasarkan fungsinya,seperti layanan database untuk unit akuntansi, dan data transfer yang cepat untuk unit teknik. Teknologi VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) bekerja dengan cara melakukan pembagian network secara logika ke dalam beberapa subnet. VLAN adalah kelompok device dalam sebuah LAN yang dikonfigurasi (menggunakan software manajemen) sehingga mereka dapat saling berkomunikasi asalkan dihubungkan dengan jaringan yang sama walaupun secara fisikal mereka berada pada segmen LAN yang berbeda. Jadi VLAN dibuat bukan berdasarkan koneksi fisikal namun lebih pada koneksi logikal, yang tentunya lebih fleksibel. Secara logika, VLAN membagi jaringan ke dalam beberapa sub-network. VLAN mengijinkan banyak subnet dalam jaringan yang menggunakan switch yang sama. Dengan menggunakan VLAN dapat dilakukan segmentasi jaringan switch berbasis pada fungsi, departemen atau pun tim proyek. Selain itu juga
dapat
mengelola
jaringan
yang
sesuai dengan kebutuhan
pertumbuhan perusahaan sehingga para pekerja dapat mengakses segmen jaringan yang sama walaupun berada dalam lokasi yang berbeda. Contoh penerapan teknologi VLAN diberikan dalam gambar dibawah ini.

2. Keuntungan VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) (Hucaby, 2010: 65-66) berkata bahwa secara keseluruhan VLAN mendatangkan keuntungan antara lain: a. Pemindahan, penambahan dan perubahan host menjadi lebih mudah. b. Dengan
menggunakan
deviceLayer

antara
VLAN,
pengendalian administratif menjadi lebih mudah. c. Konsumsi bandwidth LAN lebih efisien jika dibandingkan konsumsi bandwidth dalam satu broadcast domain yang besar. d. Penggunaan CPU lebih efisien karena lebih sedikit mem-forward paket broadcast.
3. Terminologi di Dalam VLAN Menurut (Hucaby, 2010: 70-72) Berikut ini diberikan beberapa terminologi di dalam VLAN. a. VLAN Data VLAN Data adalah VLAN yang dikonfigurasi hanya untuk membawa data-data yang digunakan oleh user. Dipisahkan dengan lalu lintas data suara atau pun manajemen switch. Sering kali disebut dengan VLAN pengguna / User VLAN.
b. VLAN Default Semua port switch pada awalnya menjadi anggota VLAN Default. VLAN Default untuk Switch Cisco adalah VLAN 1. VLAN 1 tidak dapat diberi nama dan tidak dapat dihapus. c. Native VLAN Native VLAN dikeluarkan untuk port trunking 802.1Q, port trunking 802.1Q mendukung lalu lintas jaringan yang datang dari banyak VLAN (tagged traffic) begitu juga dengan yang datang dari sebuah VLAN (untagged traffic). Port trunking 802.1Q menempatkan untagged traffic pada Native VLAN. d. VLAN Manajemen VLAN Manajemen adalah VLAN yang dikonfigurasi untuk memanajemen switch. VLAN 1 akan bekerja sebagai Management

VLAN Manajemen. Kita dapat memberi IP address dan subnetmask pada VLAN Manajemen, sehingga switch dapat dikelola melalui HTTP, Telnet, SSH, atau SNMP. e. VLAN Voice Merupakan VLAN yang dapat mendukung Voice over IP (VoIP). VLAN yang dikhusukan untuk komunikasi data suara.
2.2.5 Etherchannel Etherchannel menurut (Froom, 2010) merupakan sebuah teknologi bundling port yang membuat hubungan antar switch ke switch lainnya menjadi active – active. Hubungan / koneksi antar dua switch dapat menggunakan sampai dengan 16 port dengan status aktif di semuaport-nya. Hal ini merupakan solusi yang lebih baik dalam mencegah looping pada topologi, karena membuat agregasi bandwidth dibanding dengan STP, khusus pada kasus hubungan antar switch ke switch (point-to-point).
2.2.6 Broadcast Storm Menurut (Hucaby, 2010: 129) menjelaskan bahwa broadcast storm adalah dimana sebuah kejadian yang tidak diinginkan pada network yang disebabkan oleh transmisi
secara
bersamaan
dari
sejumlah
broadcast yang melalui segmen
network tersebut. Kejadian seperti ini dapat membuat bandwidth network kewalahan dan dapat mengakibatkan timeout. Jika ada sebuah paket dari deviceyang mengirimkan paket broadcast ke seluruh jaringan, dimana paket yang dikirim tidak dikenali MAC Address nya oleh switch, maka switch tersebut akan meneruskan frame jika destination MAC Address diketahui, akan tetapi jika tidak diketahui maka akan dikirim ke semua port switch yang ada, kecuali port asal. Ketika device mengirimkan data/paket ke semua jaringan yang ada, dan switch menerima data tersebut, karena tidak diketahui MAC Address tujuan, maka akan diteruskan kesemua port, kecuali port asal, maka akan dikirimkan ke switch lainnya, begitu pula dengan setiap switch yang tidak mengetahui tempat tujuan MAC Address, maka yang akan dilakukan mengirim ke semua port.
19 Switch yang menerima data/frame yang sama dan tidak mengetahui port asal maka akan dikirimkan kembali ke switch awal dan seterusnya, sehingga terjadi penggabungan

yang
sama
secara berulang-ulang, dan terjadilah yang
disebut dengan broadcast storm. Suatu kondisi atau saat terjadi broadcast storm dapat ditandai dengan jumlah paket yang meningkat dan rata-rata paket mencapai > 500 paket/detik saat dilakukan traffic monitoring.
2.2.7 Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) (Hucaby, 2010: 123-147) menjelaskan bahwa Spanning Tree Protocol adalah sebuah protocol bridge yang menggunakan STA (Spanning Tree Algorithm) untuk menemukan link-link redundant secara dinamis dan juga menciptakan sebuah topologi database spanning tree. Bridge bertukar pesan-pesan BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit) dengan bridge lain untuk mendeteksi loop-loop dan kemudian menghilangkan loop-loop itu dengan cara mematikan interface-interface bridge yang dipilihnya. Tugas utama STP adalah menghentikan terjadinya loop-loop network pada network layer 2 ( Bridge dan Switch ). STP secara terus menerus memonitor network untuk menemukan semua link, memastikan bahwa tidak ada loop yang terjadi, dengan cara memastikan semua link yang redundant. Dengan menjalankan STP, frame-frame hanya akan diteruskan pada link –link utama yang dipilih oleh STP.
1. Keuntungan dari Spanning Tree Algoritma Spanning tree algoritma sangat penting dalam implementasi bridge pada jaringan. Keuntungannya adalah sebagai berikut: a. Mengeliminir bridging loops. b. Memberikan jalur redundansi antara dua piranti. c. Recovery secara automatis dari suatu perubahan topologi atau kegagalan bridge. d. Mengidentifikasikan jalur optimal antara dua piranti jaringan. 2. Istilah-istilah dalam Spanning Tree Protocol Berikut istilah- istilah Spanning Tree Protocol : a. Root Bridge
20 Root Bridgeadalah bridge dengan bridge ID terbaik. Dengan STP, kuncinya adalah agar semua switch di network memilih sebuah root bridge yang akan menjadi titik fokus didalam networktersebut. Semua keputusan lain di network seperti port mana yang akan diblok dan port mana yang akan ditempatkan dalam mode forwarding keputusan-keputusan ini dibuat dari perspektif root bridge ini. b. Bridge ID Bridge ID menentukan sebuah kombinasi ID dari apa yang disebut bridge priority (yang bernilai 32.768 secara default pada semua switch Cisco) dan MAC Address dasar. Bridge dengan bridge ID terendah akan menjadi root bridge dalam network. c. Non-root bridge Merupakan semua bridge yang bukan termasuk ke dalamroot bridge. Non-root bridge bertukar BPDU dengan semua bridge dan mengupdate topologi database STP pada semua switch, mencegah loop-loop dan menyediakan sebuah cara bertahan terhadap kegagalan link. d. BPDU Semua switch bertukar informasi yang digunakan dalam pemilihan root switch, seperti halnya dalam konfigurasi selanjutnya dari network. Setiap switch membandingkan parameter-parameter dalam Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU) yang mereka kirim ke satu tetangga dengan yang mereka peroleh dari tetangga lain. e. Designated Port Sebuah port yang telah ditentukan sebagaiport yang memiliki cost yang terbaik (cost lebih rendah) dari pada port yang lain, sebuah designated port (port yang dipilih) akan ditandai sebagai sebuah forwarding port (port yang akan men-forward frame). f. Port cost ( cost dari port ) Port cost menentukan kapan sebuah link dari beberapa link yang tersedia digunakan diantara dua switch, dimana kedua port ini bukan merupakanroot port. Cost dari sebuah link ditentukan oleh bandwidth dari link yang bersangkutan.

g. Non-designated port Port dengan sebuah cost yang lebih tinggi dari pada designated port, yang akan ditempatkan di mode blocking. Sebuah non-designated port bukan merupakan sebuah forwading port. h. Forwarding port Sebuah forwarding yang akan meneruskan atau mem-forward frame. i. Blocked port Sebuah blocked port adalah port yang tidak meneruskan frame-frame, untuk menghindari loop-loop. Namun sebuah blocked port akan selalu mendengarkan frame.
3. Status –status port Spanning Tree (Hucaby, 2010: 123-147)Port-port
pada sebuah bridge atau
switch yang menjalankan STP dapat mengalami transisi melewati lima status yang berbeda berikut : a. Blocking Sebuah port yang di blok tidak akan meneruskan frame, port tersebut hanya mendengarkan BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit). tujuan untuk mencegah penggunaan jalur yang mengakibatkan loop. semua port secara default berada dalam status blocking ketika switch dinyalakan. b. Listening Port mendengar BPDU untuk memastikan tidak akan ada loop yang terjadi pada network sebelum mengirimkan frame-frame data. Port dalam keadaan status listening mempersiapkan diri untuk memforward frame dan tanpa mengisi table alamat MAC Address. c. Learning Port switch mendengarkan BPDU dan mempelajari semua jalur di network switch, port dalam status learningakan mengisi table alamat MAC Address tetapi tidak men-forward frame data.

Forwarding Port mengirimkan dan menerima semua frame data pada port bridge, jika port masih merupakan sebuah designated port/root portyang berada pada akhir status learning, maka akan masuk ke status ini. e. Disabled ( Tidak Aktif ) Sebuah port dalam status disabled (secara administratif) tidak berpartsipasi dalam melakukan forwarding terhadap frame atau pun dalam STP. Sebuah port dalam status disabled berarti tidak bekerja secara virtual. 4. Nilai default Spanning Tree Protocol Timers (Hucaby, 2010: 123-147) Pada poin

bagaimana bisa didapat nilai default untuk max age dan forward delay jika menggunakan nilai rekomendasi dari IEEE untuk setiapparameter. Dengan menggunakan nilai rekomendasi 7 untuk diameter dan 2 detik untuk hello time. Beberapa parameter yang digunakan untuk menghitung nilai default yang di rekomendasikan oleh IEEE adalah sebagai berikut : Parameter yang digunakan dalam formula : a. End to end BPDU propagation delay Nilai ini merupakan jumlah waktu yang diperlukan oleh BPDU untuk berjalan dari suatu perangkat keperangkat lain dengan menggunakan nilai rekomendasi IEEE untuk diameter, lost message dan hello time.
b. Message age overestimate Nilai ini merupakan jumlah umur dari sebuah BPDU sejak BPDU itu di buat. Dengan asumsi setiap bridge umur BPDU message akan ditambahkan 1 detik. c. BPDU Delay Nilai ini merupakan delay antara saat BPDU itu diterima pada suatu port dan saat BPDU tersebut ditransmisikan ke port lain. IEEE
merekomendasikan

23 d. Diameter of STP domain Nilai ini merupakan nilai maksimum jumlah bridges antara 2 perangkat yang saling terhubung. IEEE merekomendasikan nilai diameter ini berdasarkan nilai maksimum 7 bridges untuk nilai default STP timers. e. Lost Message Nilai ini merupakan nilai jumlah BPDU yang dapat hilang atau gagal saat mentransimiskan BPDU antara satu perangkat keperangkat lainnya pada suatu jaringan. IEEE merekomendasikan untuk menggunakan 3 sebagai nilai dari BPDU yang dapat hilang saat ditransmisikan. f. Maximum frame lifetime Nilai

waktu maksimum frame yang sebelumnya
dikirim ke jaringan tetap dalam jaringan sebelum frame mencapai tujuan. g. Transmit halt delay Nilai ini merupakan jumlah total waktu yang diperlukan sebuah switch atau bridge untuk secara efektif merubah port menjadi blocking state setelah penetapan bahwa port tersebut perlu untuk diblok. IEEE merekomendasikan untuk menggunakan nilai 1 detik sebagai waktu maksimum. h. Medium access delay Nilai ini adalah waktu yang diperlukan untuk perangkat untuk mendapatkan akses ke media untuk melakukan transmisi awal. Ini adalah waktu antara keputusan CPU untuk mengirim frame dan pada saat frame mulai meninggalkan perangkat. Rekomendasi IEEE adalah dengan menggunakan 0,5 detik sebagai waktu maksimum. i. Bridge Transit delay Nilai ini adalah waktu yang berlalu antara penerimaan dan transmisi frame yang sama oleh bridge atau switch. Rekomendasi IEEE adalah untuk mempertimbangkan transit pada switch / bridge. j. RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol)

2.2.8 Switch Virtual Interface (SVI) Menurut (Hucaby, 2010: 220-221) SVI adalah teknologi untuk solusi gateway pada layer 3 (tiga) switch, dengan menganut sistem CEF (Cisco Express Forwarding), sehingga didapatkan kecepatan yang jauh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan solusi router on a stick milik router. SVI juga dikenal dengan istilah interface VLAN, membuat interface logikal di dalam layer3 (tiga)switch dan sistem caching yang berjalan di hardware, membuat switch layer3 (tiga) menjadi trend di jaringan komputer dewasa ini, sebagai gateway, meninggalkan router yang terbatas karena jumlah port dan teknologi yang dimiliki nya.
