WELCOMING CELINE THE JOURNEY WAS AWFUL
MATERIÁLY PRO UČITELE
C: Hello, David! D: Hi, Celine! Good to see you! Welcome back! C: Thank you. D: So how was the trip? Everything all right? C: It wasn’t bad. I mean the flight was O.K. but the journey from the airport it took absolutely years. It was ages. D: It’s a nightmare. The Tube’s getting really worse every year. C: No I came by Tube because, apparently, the taxi is really expensive from the airport to the centre of the town. D: It is. C: Particularly the black taxis, the black cabs. I wasn’t very sure about ordering the minicab because I don’t a contact and I just didn’t want to sort of hail a cab so I decided to go by Tube but it took absolutely ages. D: Yes, it’s a long journey. It was all packed with people at this hour. C: Yes, it was horrible, really horrible. And it also cost a lot of money as well. I was a bit surprised. D: I think, next time when you come if you just let us know ahead of time, we can use one of those services. We pre-order it ahead of time. It shouldn’t be too expensive. C: Oh, what a shame. If only I had known I would have really appreciated that instead of pulling my luggage by Tube. But anyway, that’s over and done with. D: And don’t you have too much luggage, you’re just here for a few days. C: Well, I still have a suitcase, a small suitcase but it still… A suitcase is a suitcase. D: Especially in the full… people pushing and… C: Yeah, people really do sort of jam, jam into the Tube trains already thick. D: Yeah, it’s actually interesting that it doesn’t so much happen in Prague or New York but in London they’re really not afraid to push you. I feel like it’s like sardines, like in Japan or something. You know in Mexico they actually have people, professional pushers, in the subway who push people into the trains. C: Oh really? D: Yeah. C: Well, I’m glad it didn’t happen here. D: But they might as well. C: Well, people were polite, people were polite but it’s still unpleasant. D: O.K. So you probably can be too exhausted to go out for dinner and drinks and stuff. C: I’d appreciate going out for a bite to eat, I have to say. But then probably after supper I’d return, I’d return to the hotel. D: Nearby there is a Moroccan restaurant and there is a Sushi restaurant as well. Both really highly recommended. C: Well, I think I’d really like to do for the Moroccan restaurant if that’s fine with you.
D: Right, I’ll make a reservation. And… C: And what time shall we meet? What’s the time now? It’s five o’clock now. So what if we meet at 7 p.m. or something like that? D: That’s fine. C: O.K. Well, I’m going to get myself organized and I’ll see you later. O.K.? D: Great. Good to see you. C: Bye-bye then.
C: Ahoj Davide! D: Ahoj Celine! Rád tě vidím! Vítej zpátky! C: Díky! D: Tak jaká byla cesta? Vše v pořádku? C: Šlo to. A stálo to taky hodně peněz. C: Ano. D: Ale klidně by mohlo. C: Ráda bych zašla do té marocké, jestli souhlasíš. D: Dobře, zařídím rezervaci. A…
D: To mi vyhovuje. C: Tak dobře. Dám se trochu do pořádku a uvidíme se později, platí? D: Skvělé. Už se těším! C: Tak zatím na shledanou!
