GetGet totoKnow the Jeseník Know the Jeseníky Mountains. Welcome! Mountains. Welcome!
The Jeseníky Mountains and their foothills are a mountain paradise with many historic treasures and technical monuments. In every season you can choose a trail which will suit both your physical condition and your interests. The tourism area of the Jeseníky is formed by the Hrubý Jeseník mountains and their foothills, the Rychlebské mountains, Králický Sněžník and the Nízký (Lower) Jeseník mountains, so one can enjoy travelling from peak to peak, enjoying splendid views and trails through picturesque valleys. Winter sports complexes offer enthusiasts a wide spectrum of possibilities, as many as in summer, and all offer a number of additional entertainment activities. In the Jeseníky you will find hundreds of well-marked trails, for hiking and for cycling. You can go to Rejvíz to the largest peat bog in Moravia, to Praděd for the highest mountain in Moravia, to the nature preserve Šerák – Keprník, the oldest in Moravia, or to the nature reserve Velká kotlina (The Great Basin), which is considered the country’s best, all in the Jeseníky. And those who like sight-seeing will discover a number of historical monuments, whether they be the local castles, chateaux, museums or the interiors of wooden churches. You can see the greatest wonders of the Czech Republic, the Dlouhá Strána electric plant, and a handmade paper factory. But that is not all – you can to to Šumperk and go on a fairy-tale tour from the 13th to the 21st centuries, and we have not yet mentioned the relaxation possibilities of the Jeseníky spas, the witch-hunting trials in Velké Losiny, the festivals, nor the number of events on offer, including tasting the famous Hanušovice beer.

Spas offering calm and health can be found literally at every step. The Priessnitz Therapeutic Spas in Jeseník /1/ were the first hydrotherapy spas in the world. The cold and thermal springs at Velké Losiny /3/ have been curing people of their illnesses since the 16th century. And a similarly rich history and fame are shared by the spas at Dolní Lipová /2/, Bludov /4/ and Karlova Studánka /5/. Their common denominators are first-class facilities, modern equipment, expertise and full service. Patients here will not only find relief from vascular illnesses, locomotor disorders, and breathing difficulties. All spas additionally offer an enormous range of rehabilitation and reconditioning programmes and one can adapt the periods of one’s stay according to their number. Spas in the Jeseníky offer health and calm.

FoundNowhere Nowhere ElseElse Found
Those who crave unique experiences will find a replica of a medieval mining town with a gold ore mill in the Ztracené Štoly valley. You can even try panning for gold /3/! In Česká Ves u Jeseníku there is the Antique Motorcycle Museum /4/ and a real Western ranch /5/. Nearby Praděd, at an altitude of 1350 metres, is reflected upon the water surface of the third largest pumped water storage plant in the world at Dlouhá Strána /1/. A tour of it is another one-of-a-kind experience. Only a few kilometres further, in Velké Losiny, you will marvel at the handmade paper production at one of the oldest factories in Europe /7/. From Staré Město you can go via an instructional trail to see the old border fortifications /6/. Also unforgettable is a visit to the Acrobat Park in Štíty /2/, where you can ski jump into water, and where if you are lucky, you can meet Olympic champion Aleš Valenta. The year-round activities are too numerous to mention and so are the experiences which you can find nowhere else.
