Ph.D. degree in forestry remote sensing was obtained from the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Niigata University, Japan in 1996. Master of agriculture (M.Agr) degree in forestry remote sensing was obtained from the Niigata University in 1993. Research student at the Faculty of Agriculture, Niigata University, Japan, from October 1990 to March 1991 and completed the research program on a system of forest inventory for tropical forest. Diploma (Sarjana) degree in Forest Management was obained from the Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University in 1985
