LAKERS SPORT CLUB by Ms. Putri
Class Trip (1,2,3) and (4,5,6) BSB Lakers Sport Club (BSB City Jl. RM Hadi Soebeno S, Mijen – Semarang. What a fun class trip that we had on that day! First, the teachers would like to appreciate the success of the students in doing their time keeping. The trip went smoothly from the morning, when we left the school. We began the trip with a farming activity. The trainers helped us to plant some veggies and explained how to build a small garden at home. Then, we picked some leaves to feed the animals that BSB Lakers care for. There were 3 deer (Bona, Boni and Bonu), lots of birds, rabbits, and a friendly iguana. Our hands on activity continued through cooking and plating vanilla pancakes. Our class plated their own pancakes with strawberries, chocochips and colourful chocolate sprinkles. There were 3 of our friends who got gifts from the venue for the best pancake plating. Eating our own dressed pancakes gave different interesting experiences.
Semua anak sangat senang melakukannya. Para trainer membagi kami menjadi dua kelompok Who doesn't like playing with water? Everyone loves to do it. The train(laki-laki dan perempuan). Kami bermain estafet air menggunakan ers divided us into 2 groups (boys and girls). We played water relay gelas plastik dan ember. PBS SPOOKY HALLOWEEN
PARTY 2016
by Ms. Lya
It was the Spookiest Halloween Party ever! – And we would like to thank everyone for the hard work and team efforts this year.
It was the Spookiest Halloween Party ever! – And we would like to thank everyone for the hard work and team efforts this year. High-school students began planning and designing their classroom themes weeks ago. Last week the halls were full of students chattering back and forth, painting, hanging …. transforming “halls of learning” into the “Spooking highschool”. Grade 9R and 12 won the first prize this year – “A Friday Afternoon at Starbucks”. Primary students looked great again, as always. It’s soooo much fun. What a difficult time our judges have deciding who has the best costume. All our classes ended up with some Halloween candy for their classrooms. It’s not just the students who have fun either. I think next year we should include a prize for parents because they arrive in some very good costumes as well. The party always ends in enjoying GREAT food and GOOD fellowship. This year was no different and we all enjoyed

Many people have unique interpretations and beliefs on the festive day of Halloween. This classic PBI tradition was held on the 28th October, Friday. Although the celebration of Halloween is meant to be held on the 31st of October, PBI has changed the date to the 28th due to student inconveniences. Nevertheless, everyone had a great night!
The event began with an opening speech by our principal, Ms. Kerry. The following 40 minutes were used to present – to the proud parents and family members – the costumes worn by students. The Early Years students had fairy telling while the high-schoolers’, along with parents, went to classrooms (decorated by the high-schoolers on Monday and Friday before hand) and just enjoyed themselves. Around 6:15, we all had an appetizing potluck dinner, brought to us by the wonderful parents of PBI students. Lastly the winners of the costume parade and class room decorations were announced, followed by a closing speech. Anakin Ozzy Thacker (Grade 9R).
Halloween last Friday was a blast! We think everybody decorated their classrooms magnificently and the stories they acted out were very creative. On the day, we had to decorate the classrooms, our imagination went wild. We came up with many ideas, so many that we weren’t able to create them all. Everyone did a fabulous job drawing, painting and bring resources to give an eerie feel to the classroom. We all took quite a while finding the best music, ripping and painting the newspaper, and trying to get the classroom as dark as possible. When it was finally Friday and we were done decorating the class, the Asylum plan seemed to work out very well. We went out to have pictures as a class with Ms. Kerry and immediately went to set up our classroom. The act was a success! We played spooky music, provided candy, and managed to scare people. Some students dressed up as the “Channels” from Scream Queens and some people dressed up as people from the Asylum. A few people actually screamed. After that was over, we listened to the votings to see who won and afterwards went to eat the delicious food provided at the potluck. This is by far the best Halloween that we’ve had so far. Thank you Ms. Kerry for the Fox Candy. Syahda and Aaliyah (Grade 9R)
We started decorating at 7:30 AM on Monday. The process went smoothly, starting with covering the window on the door and ending with newspapers and paintings stuck on the door, walls and lockers by 11:30 AM. There was also cloth on the display board and a mannequin standing on a desk in front of Ms. Tri’s corner. The torn-up newspapers kept falling the next few days, along with the teddy bear we hung from the projector. Our final decorating session was on Friday, from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We rearranged the desks and chairs to make them look like beds and beside tables; stuck paper on the windows and rehearsed how we should act for the night. We found matching music and threw torn-up newspaper on the floor. That evening, at 5:45 PM, we set our positions. Group after group came in and out. I’d say we did a good job, and although we felt tired, it was rather fun. What’s more, our class won the costume parade and the Spooky Classroom Contest! This Halloween was fun, as how I felt for every Halloween party the school held. The food was good as well. We had lots of fun in this year’s Halloween! Ping Ing (Grade 9R)
