The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, UFJ – Jakarta branch (Bank) as one a Leading Japanese financial institution is required to follow certain regulations under The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) in proceeding the Outward remittance.

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, UFJ – Cabang Jakarta (Bank) sebagai salah satu lembaga keuangan Jepang terbesar perlu mengikuti peraturan di bawah The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) dalam memproses Pengiriman Valuta Asing.

The required procedure when filling in the Outward Remittance Application Form are as follow:

Prosedur yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengisian Formulir Aplikasi pengiriman Valuta Asing adalah sebagai berikut:

1. Provide beneficiary country, city, address and other beneficiary information in the wire transfer message

1. Melengkapi informasi negara, kota, alamat, dan informasi lainnya terkait pihak penerima dalam aplikasi pengiriman dana

2. Please ensure to fill-in the remittance application form in English language

2. Memastikan pengisian aplikasi pengiriman dana menggunakan Bahasa Inggris

3. Avoid truncation and/or omitting message in the fund transfer application

3. Menghindari pemotongan dan/atau penyingkatan pesan dalam aplikasi pengiriman dana

4. Ensure that all transactions are not related to direct trades and/or intermediary trades of goods which originated from or destined to Iran/North Korea.

4. Memastikan bahwa seluruh transaksi tidak terkait perdagangan langsung dan/atau sebagai penghubung perdagangan barang yang berasal dari atau dengan tujuan Iran/Korea Utara.

The outward remittance application which does not meet the above procedure will not be proceeded by the Bank

Aplikasi pengiriman Valuta Asing yang tidak mengikuti prosedur di atas tidak akan di proses oleh pihak Bank..

The procedure is NOT applicable to Rupiah denominated domestic fund transfers and internal transfer.

Confirmation duty under the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act

Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) as a Japanese financial institution is required to undertake certain confirmation duties under Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act of Japan (FEFTA) when BTMU accepts cross-border remittances or other financial service transactions. This includes confirming customer identity and transaction legality as well as reviewing transaction details. Financial institutions are required to conduct a hearing of purpose of the payment, and investigate the original source of the applicable transactions if necessary.

The Banks, etc. shall not commit exchange transactions pertaining to payment with a customer unless they confirm that the customer's payment, etc. does not fall under any of the payment, etc. listed in the following items or that the customer's payment meets requirements prescribed respectively in the following items where it is found to fall under payment, etc. listed in those items.
