Megoldás I’m so tired although I don’t work a lot these days. Many people say it is because of the weather. I don’t know how I could become fitter and more energetic. One of my colleagues suggested that before work I should go swimming and spend time in the fresh air as often as possible. The only problem is that I don’t feel like getting up early and I don’t like foggy, cold autumn days. Fortunately, I have had a dog for ten years so I go for short walks with it at least three times a day. A dog helps everybody to preserve their health.

New bridge erected in Venice For centuries, there was only one bridge across the Grand Canal, perhaps the world's most magical stretch of water. The third and last one went up 73 years ago. Those facts alone would have been enough to draw a crowd as the centre part of a new bridge was carefully fitted into place on Saturday. But this crucial moment in the construction of the new bridge drew only a little pack of Venetians for other reasons: the bridge is obviously, though elegantly, modern. Venice was founded 1,600 years ago as a water-protected haven for people fleeing barbarians, and in recent decades it has often been criticized for rejecting the modern, at least as far as its architecture is concerned. But five years ago, a famous Spanish architect was able to win the contract for the city's newest bridge, even though he is known for modernism. Practically, the bridge is meant to make it easier to get - on foot, of course - from one place to another in the north of Venice. The bridge was necessary for improving the flow of millions of tourists and residents.
Öt évvel ezelőtt azonban egy híres spanyol építésznek sikerült elnyernie a szerződést a város legújabb hídjára, bár ő a modernizmusáról ismert.

Megoldás I. Budapest Nagy utca 5. 5 November 2010 Dear Sarah, I’d like to tell you about my birthday party. It was last Sunday and my boyfriend had organised it in secret. He had phoned all my friends and asked them to be at our flat at five o’clock. He agreed with the girls to make food and asked the boys to buy some drinks. He gave the key to my best friend. On the day of the party he asked me to go to the cinema with him. I must tell you that I was a bit disappointed that he never mentioned my birthday. On top of that the film was really bad. We went home and found all our friends in the living room. When we entered they started to sing. I got a lot of presents and 25 red roses from my boyfriend. We ate and drank, and danced a lot. Unfortunately one of the boys got so drunk that he was sick and it was quite disgusting cleaning the flat afterwards. I hate drunken people because they can spoil the best of parties. Still, I think it was a great party and a lovely surprise. If we invite the right people a party will always be great. That’s all for now, all my love: Sue

II. Cegléd Nagy utca 42. Hungary 30 August 2010 Dear Sam, Thanks for your postcard from Rome. I hope your holiday was as good as ours. I travelled to Croatia with a few friends. We travelled by car and shared the driving, which was really good because it was a very long drive. We stayed at a campsite. Unfortunately our friends’ tent got soaking wet during the storm on the first night so my boyfriend and I had to let them move into our tent. It was very unpleasant as our tent was not big enough for four people and on top of it all Peter snored so loudly that I could not fall asleep. On the first two days the weather was not good and we could not go to the beach. We went sightseeing instead. It was difficult to agree on our destination. I love our friends but I swore I would never again go on holiday with another couple in just one car. (Not to speak of the only tent we had to share!) Thank heavens, on the third day the sun came out and everything got dry. We could go to the beach where we had a really great time. We laughed a lot and played Scrabble. I won a lot of times. Lots of love:
Eve

The Last Supper Goes Online A 16-billion-pixel image of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper - said to be the world's highest-resolution photo - went online Saturday, making the masterpiece available for scrutiny by art lovers everywhere. White-robed Dominican monks opened the doors of their sacristy to unveil the highresolution image of the painting on a giant screen just steps away from the real thing at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. The digitized version, produced using special techniques designed to protect the fragile painting from damaging light exposure, gives anyone with an internet connection a chance to dig deeper into Leonardo's techniques than ever before. Leonardo expert Pietro Marani zoomed in on the cuff of traitor Judas to show the gold flake Leonardo applied. "He went against his own better judgment here," Marani said. "We know he considered using real gold as an unnecessary compromise, that he thought true artists should be able to make paint glitter like gold, but there it is." Leonardo used oil and tempera paints on dry plaster, an experimental technique, and as a result, the Last Supper is now so faded and cracked it can't withstand exposure to bright light. To protect the painting, HAL9000, a company specializing in art photography, worked with restoration specialists in Rome to develop a lighting system without the ultraviolet emissions and high thermal impact so hazardous to works of art. Shot with a special Nikon in just nine hours, the total impact of the digitization process was equal to just a few minutes of the soft lighting that normally illuminates the painting. Back in their office, technical supervisor Mauro Gavinelli and his team stitched together 1,677 panoramic images of the 15-foot-by-29-foot painting using 16 GB of memory and a 2terabyte hard disk. In the late 1400s, Leonardo painted the Last Supper to provide monks at Santa Maria delle Grazie something to think about during meals. Father Stefano Rabacchi, the current prior of the monastery, said that although the work was originally painted just for them, they are obliged to share it with the world today. Some 320,000 tourists troop in every year to see it, normally reserving tickets for a 15-minute viewing several months in advance. Visitors pass through a decontamination chamber, 25 at a time, where some of the city smog is sucked from their clothes. Concerns about the fading painting's health were raised again when Italian daily Corriere della Sera reported Friday that the level of dust particles in the church's dining hall have tripled in the last two years, raising concerns about how long the work will ultimately stay open to the public. A filtration system removes up to 70 percent of the pollution from the chamber, said curator Alberto Artioli, adding that doors won't close on the work any time soon. For those not able or willing to come to Milan, will a virtual visit surpass the actual painting? "It's exciting to see just how technology can show details that you wouldn't normally be able to see," said Vincenzo Mirarchi, HAL9000's general manager. "But it's not meant to substitute
for the real thing. Seeing it on a computer screen will never be the same as standing in front of Leonardo's work."
