Introduction This catalogue is the result of a collaboration between students of the 3 High Schools in Wassenaar (Adelbert College, American School of The Hague, and Rijnlands Lyceum) during the 2014 – 2015 school year. Together with artists from the ANF (Artists for Nature Foundation) students and art teachers in each school were inspired by the theme “Nature in Wassenaar”. A selection of their efforts can be found in this exhibit and catalogue. The exhibit is open to the general public every work day from Wednesday, May 20 till Wednesday, May 27 between 10:00 and 16:00 at Rijnlands Lyceum. The student art work will be auctioned of on Friday, May 29 starting at 19:00 during an auction in the ASH theater. Prior to this LIVE auction, interested buyers are invited to bid in a SILENT auction via email (
[email protected]). Anyone choosing this way of bidding should include the name of the artist, the catalogue number of the piece, a phone number and their bid in Euros. If no higher bids are received at the live auction, the highest bid from the silent auction will be accepted and the buyer will be expected to pay for the art work during the week of June 1. If someone makes a higher bid at the live auction, the art piece will go to them. The full proceeds of the auction will be donated to “Stichting de Veldleeuwerik”, a local charity that works to protect the breeding grounds and the habitat of the skylark on the “Lentevreugd Estate” in Wassenaar.
Voorwoord De voorliggende catalogus is het resultaat van een samenwerking tussen leerlingen van de drie Wassenaarse middelbare scholen (Adelbert College, American School of The Hague, en Rijnlands Lyceum) gedurende het schooljaar 2014-2015. Tesamen met een aantal kunstenaars van de ANF (Artists for Nature Foundation) zijn leerlingen en kunstdocenten op elke school aan de slag gegaan met het thema “natuur in Wassenaar”. Een selectie van hun inspanningen vormt het onderwerp van deze tentoonstelling en catalogus. De tentoonstelling is toegangkelijk voor het grote publiek elke werkdag vanaf woensdag 20 tot en met woensdag 27 mei, 2015 tussen 10:00 en 16:00 op het Rijnlands Lyceum. De door de leerlingen tentoongestelde werken zullen op vrijdag 29 mei vanaf 19u00 tijdens een veiling te koop aangeboden worden in de theaterzaal van de Amerikaanse School. Voorafgaand aan deze LIVE veiling, wordt aan geïnteresseerde kopers ook de mogelijkheid geboden om via een STILLE veiling een bod uit te brengen (
[email protected]). Wie op deze manier een bod wil uitbrengen, wordt verzocht de naam van de kunstenaar, het nummer uit de catalogus, een telefoonnummer en hun bod in Euros toe te voegen. Indien er tijdens de live veiling geen hoger bod wordt uitgebracht op het betreffende werk, dan gaat het werk naar de hoogste bieder uit de stille veiling die verzocht wordt het werk te betalen in de week van 1 juni. Indien er tijdens de live veiling een hoger bod wordt uitgebracht, gaat het werk naar de hoogste bieder. De volledige opbrengst van de veiling wordt geschonken aan Stichting de Veldleeuwerik, die als doel heeft de broed- en leefomgeving van de veldleeuwerik te beschermen op het Landgoed Lentevreugd in Wassenaar.
