ABSTRAK Skripsi dengan judul Penerapan Metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Peserta Didik Kelas V Di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar. Dari hasil pengamatan awal di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar Ada beberapa kendala pada peserta didik ketika dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu siswa kurang fokus terhadap penyampaian materi dan malas untuk membaca. Kondisi ini mengkibatkan kesulitan pada saya untuk menyampaikan materi dan yang terpenting itu adalah membaca, sehingga hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia menjadi di bawah KKM yang ditentukan, yaitu 75. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti menggunakan suatu metode yang sesuai dengan keterampilan membaca, peneliti menggunakan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review). Penggunaan metode ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca peserta didik kelas V MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Bagaimana peningakatan motivasi membaca siswa melalui penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia peserta didik kelas V Di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar tahun ajaran 2016-2017? 2) Bagaimana peningkatan keterampilan membaca siswa melalui penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia peserta didik kelas V Di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar tahun ajaran 2016-2017? Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Untuk mengetahui peningakatan motivasi membaca siswa melalui penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia peserta didik kelas V Di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar tahun ajaran 2016-2017. 2) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan membaca siswa melalui penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia peserta didik kelas V Di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar tahun ajaran 2016-2017. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Class Action Research) karena masalah yang dipecahkan berasal dari praktik pembelajaran di kelas sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan merangkai huruf dan membaca permulaan peserta didik. Proses pelaksanaan tindakan kelas meliputi: (1) tahap perencanan (planing), (2) tahap pelaksanaan

(acting), (3) tahap observasi (observing), dan (4) tahap trefleksi (reflecting). Adapun teknik pengumpulan datanya mengunakan tes, wawancara, observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dan kemampuan membaca. Wawancara, observasi dan catatan lapangan digunakan untuk menggali proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, respon peserta didik, keadaan peserta didik dan peneliti. Indikator keberhasilan penelitian adalah ketuntasan belajar minimum 75% dari jumlah seluruh peserta didik mendapatkan nilai minimal 75 sesuai kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan membaca peserta didik kelas V. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari tes awal memperoleh hasil presentase ketuntasan 30%, dilanjut Siklus 1 dengan uji Post Test 1 memperoleh presentase ketuntasan hasil belajar 45% dan uji motivasi memproleh nilai rata-rata 1,72 dapat dikatakan positif. Kemudian pada siklus 2 dilakukan uji Post Test 2 memperoleh presentase ketuntasan hasil belajar 100% dan uji motivasi memperoleh nilai angka 1,92 dapat dikatakan sangat positif. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Refleck, Recite, Review) dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan membaca peserta didik kelas V di MI Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar.

The purpose of this study are: 1) To determine the increase reading motivation of students through the application of methods PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) to improve reading skills on the subjects of Indonesian Language students class V in Islamic Elementary School Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar academic year 2016-2017. 2) To determine improvement reading skills students' through the application of methods PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) to improve reading skills on the subjects of Indonesian Language students class V in Islamic Elementary School Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar academic year 2016-2017. This type of research used in this research is classroom action research since solved the problem comes from classroom practice as an effort to improve the ability to assemble letters and read the beginning of the learners. The process of implementation of the class action include: (1) the stage of planning, (2) the implementation phase, (3) the stage of observation, and (4) the stage of reflection. The technique of using test data collection, interviews, observation, field notes, and documentation. The test is used to determine the results of learning and

reading skills. Interviews, observations and field notes were used to explore the process of learning the Indonesian language, the response of learners, state learners and researchers. Indicators of success completeness study research is minimum 75% of the total number of students scored at least in accordance minimum completeness criteria 75. The results of this study indicate that the application of the method PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) can increase learning motivation and reading ability of students class V. It can be seen from the initial test results obtained completeness percentage 30%, continued Cycle 1 test Post test 1 percentage gain mastery learning outcomes 45% and test the motivation obtain an average value of 1.72 can be said to be positive. Then in cycle 2 test Post Test 2 percentage gain mastery learning outcomes and test 100% motivation obtain the numerical value of 1.92 can be said to be very positive. Thus, the application of the method PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) can improve motivation and reading skills of students class V in Islamic Elementary School Darussalam Pikatan Wonodadi Blitar.
