Beste Sporters, Welkom bij het Wereldkampioenschap Obstacle Running! Na bijna een jaar van hard werken en slapeloze nachten (en hard trainen van jullie kant) is het dan eindelijk zover – het allereerste echte onafhankelijke wereldwijde kampioenschap obstacle running! Dit unieke en onafhankelijke evenement hebben wij georganiseerd om te verenigen, te promoten en om ervoor te zorgen dat er meer mensen enthousiast worden om deze sport te gaan doen. Het belangrijkste daarin zijn JULLIE – de geweldige sporters en de saamhorigheid die je ziet bij deze sport, dit maakt de sport nog specialer. Jij hebt ervoor gekozen om samen met ons geschiedenis te schrijven en dat betekent wat…het betekent dat wij met z’n allen pioniers zijn in deze sport en daar mogen jullie supertrots op zijn! Hou dit gevoel vast als je over de startlijn gaat, de obstakels bedwingt, rent over dit geweldige terrein en vol gas op de finish af gaat. Deze unieke belevenis ga je maar één keer in je leven meemaken en die heb jij verdiend door je toewijding aan de mooiste sport ter wereld! Op het moment dat jij daar staat in je startvak net voordat het startschot klinkt, adem dan goed in, kijk om je heen en neem een klein moment voor jezelf. START TIMES & WAVES With the exception of the Elite and Journeymen/women Divisions which start separately, all Age Group athletes are required to start in their assigned wave, specific to their age group. Athletes are not permitted to start in any other wave under any circumstances. Athletes found to be in violation of this protocol will be disqualified from competition. In addition, please note the following: •

Athletes will receive their race day identification bracelet prior to the event at Athlete Check In. This is required to start the event and SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED. Under no circumstances will athletes be permitted to start the event without their identification bracelet. Athletes must report to the start line ten (10) minutes before their assigned start time for a mandatory race briefing. As with all premier endurance races, the starting time for all athletes in a particular wave will be the “gun time” (e.g. if a wave starts at 9:35, each athlete in that wave is assigned the same starting time).
PACKET PICK-UP & ATHLETE CHECK-IN All athletes are responsible for picking up their own race packets. Individuals may not pick up participant packets on behalf of others. •
Waivers must be signed at Athlete Check-In.

You must have a Photo ID with you to pick up your race packet and be checked in. NO EXCEPTIONS.
•
A parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the waiver for any participant under 18 years old.
BAG CHECK •
Bag Check is available for both Saturday and Sunday’s races.
•
At race completion, your race number will be used to verify your bag when you pick it up.
•
Valuable items should not be checked.
•
The Event Staff is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.
PARKING There is no onsite parking available at the race venue. All athletes and spectators are required to park at the Fort Ancient parking lot ($10 per vehicle, cash only), located ¼ mile from the race venue. Shuttle busses are available beginning at 7AM and will run until the completion of the race. Fort Ancient 6123 State Route 350 Oregonia, OH 45054 SPECTATORS Spectators are FREE, but must complete an event waiver upon arrival.
SAFETY & EMERGENCIES The safety of all athletes, spectators, and staff is paramount. In the event of an emergency, all parties should follow the explicit instruction of event staff. Athletes that assist in an emergency may be permitted to begin the race again at the sole discretion of OCRWC officials.
WEATHER The race will be held rain or shine. If there is lightning in the area, the race will either have a delayed start or, depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. The determination will be made by the OCRWC staff. OCRWC Lightning Policy Race operations will shut down when lightning is estimated to be within 10 miles of event. Event operations will not resume until the lightning is 10 miles out moving away from the event areas. OCRWC Staff will consult with King’s Domain Management on a course of action to delay or cancel the event.
BENEFICIARY Operation Enduring Warrior OCRWC Organizers have partnered with Operation Enduring Warrior (OEW), a veteran operated non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to honor, empower and motivate wounded service members through physical, mental and emotional rehabilitative activities such as Obstacle Course Races. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to Operation Enduring Warrior. In addition, participants have the opportunity to donate at the event or online at http://www.enduringwarrior.org.
AWARDS The OCR World Championships awards monetary prizes to the top three finishers in each division as well as to the top team in Team Competition. These awards include: •

The following awards will be presented on-site at the Awards Ceremony. Please note: awards are based on Gun Time as specified in the OCRWC Rule Book.
2015 PRE-REGISTRATION As a thank your for your participation in the inaugural OCR World Championships, racers will be granted exclusive rights to pre-register and reserve their spot in the 2015 OCRWC at 50% off of registration. This is exclusive to 2014 participants and is not transferrable under any circumstances. Please note the following: • • • •
Pre-registration spots are strictly limited and granted on a first come first served basis. The 2015 OCRWC is anticipated to be held in October 2015. Athletes must qualify to compete at via a 2015 qualifying event. Refunds may be granted in the event the race is not held in an athlete’s country of residence.
