Pd Keywords: effect, performance, achievement This research describes about effect of teachers’ performance on students’ achievement in senior high schools in Karang Intan, Banjar regency academic year 2014/2015 (Case Study at SMAN I Karang Intan and MA Sultan Sulaiman). The problems that should be answered in this research are: how are the teachers’ performances in teaching English? are there any effects of teachers’ performance on students’ achievement in English? is the students’ achievement influenced by teacher’s performance? The subjects of this research are two English teachers at SMAN 1 Karang Intan and two English teachers at MA Sultan Sulaiman in Karang Intan sub district. The object of the research is the effect of English teachers’ performance on English students’ achievement in grade X and XI in senior high schools in Karang Intan sub district. To collect the data, the writer uses some techniques, like Interview, observation, questionnaire, and test. The data are processed through editing, coding, scoring, and recapitulation. Then all data are analyzed descriptively. The result of this research indicates that the performance of teachers’ at senior high schools in Karang Intan, Banjar Regency Academic Year 2014/2015 has very strong correlation with students’ achievement which the result of rxy at SMAN 1 is 1 and rxy of MA Sultan Sulaiman is 0, 986. Though the result shows that both have strong correlation, does not mean all teachers show good performance in classroom. The teachers who show good performance also indicates that students’ achievement is better than the students’ achievement that the performance of teachers are poor.

Pd Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Performa, Prestasi Penelitian ini menggambarkan efek dari performa guru terhadap prestasi siswa di sekolah menegah atas diKarang Intan, Kabupaten Banjar Tahun Akademik 2014/2015 (Studi Kasus di SMAN 1 Karang Intan dan MA Sultan Sulaiman). Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimana performa guru dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris? Apakah performa guru berefek pada prestasi siswa? Apakah prestasi siswa dipengaruhi oleh performa guru? Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua orang guru Bahasa Inggris di SMAN I Karang Intan dan dua orang guru Bahasa Inggris di MA Sultan Sulaiman di kecamatan Karang Intan. Objek penelitian ini adalah efek dari performa guru terhadap prestasi Bahasa Inggris siswa dikelas I dan II Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kecamatan Karang Intan. . Untuk mengumpulkan data, penulis menggunakan beberapa teknik, seperti wawancara, pengamatan, angket dan tes. Data dianalisis melalui pengeditan, pengkodean, penilaian, dan rekapitulasi. Kemudian data dianalis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa performa guru di Sekolah Menengah Atas diKarang Intan, Kabupaten Banjar Tahun Akademik 2014/2015 sangat berpengaruh pada prestasi siswa yang mana hasil dari rxy di SMAN 1 adalah 1 dan hasil rxy MA Sultan Sulaiman adalah 0,986. Meskipun,kedua sekolah menunjukkan hubungan yang sangata kuat dengan prestasi siswa, tidak berarti bahwa semua performa guru bagus. Sekolah yang performa gurunya bagus juga menunjukkan bahwa prestasi siswanya lebih baik dari pada prestasi siswa yang performa gurunya jelek.
