ABSTRACT 2-Metl1o)f.yethanol (2-ME) as a pollutan in the environment and has been known as a male or female reproductive disrnptor, however effects of 2-ME in the implantation pro~ess is not documented yet. This research was designed, how the effects of 2-ME on the process of implantation and post implantation embryos following two-cell stage embryo exposure. Pregnant mice on gestational day (GD) 0 (embryo two-cell stage) was injected intrapefitoneally 2-ME at dose of 10 mmol/kg body weight. The condi~ion of endometrium were observed on GD 5 when implantation process was occurs. The via,0ility of implanted embrios were observed on GD 18. The condition of enqometrium including thickness of endometrium, number of blood vessels, and nu.rµber of gland tubules were observed, the data were analyzed by t-test. The thicl5:.ness of endometrium and the number of gland tubules tended decreased, however the number of blood vessels tended increased. Whereas no significantly diff~rent between the number of implantation on the treatment and control groups. However the number of live fetuses tended decreased and also total of intrauterj.ne death tended increased. There were also tended decreased in the body weight of live fetuses and the incident of external malformations tended increased. These result indicate that 2-ME has no significantly effects in the development of endometrium and embryo post implantation when exposed on GD 0 at dose 10 ,mmol/kg body weight.
