Important Information Dear Student, The written exam questions consist of three different parts, controlling your knowledge in the following subjects: basic principles of catering and tourism; basic principles of the hotel industry and marketing principles. The questions are independent from each other so you can answer them in any order. We recommend you to read all the questions first and start answering the questions which are easiest for you. In order to have a successful exam, please pay attention to the following. y You may work within a 2.5 cm margin on each page, do not exceed the margins! y The last page (back cover) is used for evaluation, please do not write on it. y In certain questions you need to give examples and describe features. In such questions pay attention to the number of examples asked because no extra points can be given, even if you list more than the required number of examples! However, in certain questions (when you have to underline the answer) points are deducted for underlining the wrong answer! y In some questions you have to explain your answer. Please be brief and try to summarise the most important aspects on the dotted lines. Pay attention to the following while answering the questions: 1. Answering the questions you may not use any other tools apart from a pen (e.g., textbook, exercise book, etc.). It is strictly forbidden to leave mobile phones in the room – even if they are switched off – during the exam! The supervising teacher shall take away your exam sheets if these rules are violated! 2. No answers written in a pencil can be accepted! 3. Should you make any corrections, indicate clearly which is the right solution. Otherwise no point can be given for the answer. 4.
