Salah satu contoh adalah dibangunnya jaringan komputer agar distributor dapat langsung mengadakan transaksi dengan pabrik dan langsung dapat mengetahui kapan semennya yang dipesan dapat diterima oleh pembeli. Jaringan komputer ini merupakan salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan pelayanan kepada pembeli dan sekaligus mengetahui berapa banyak pemintaan semen serta peningkatan kebutuhan didaerah yang menjadi wilayah penjualan distributior ybs. Sistem informasi membantu pengguna komputer untuk melaksanakan tugasnya. Tugas-tugas ini antara lain mencari dan menentukan sumber-sumber pemasok dari bahan baku dan penolong serta suku cadang. Termasuk didalamnya antara lain bagaimana menggunakan sistim komputerisasi untuk penempatan pemesanan pembelian bahan baku dan penolong maupun pemesanan dari distributor untuk produk yang dihasilkan. Juga sistim monitoring dan verifikasi atas pembelian bahan baku dan penolong serta produk yang dijual.
