Introduction
Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergology (MAKIT).
SpringMed Publishing Ltd. is a Hungarian Company founded in 2001 and specialised in Health Care issues. Our main goals are: 1. to provide useful and comprehensive information for the lay public on health issues, 2. to publish medical professional books in Hungarian and in English, 3. to manage prominent Hungarian Scientists’ books to be published in foreign language. Since our foundation in 2001, we have started Series of Health Educational Books. The first project was Oncology, in which 18 booklets and 2 books have been published so far. Both the American National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Hungarian League against Cancer (MRL) have become our partners in this venture.The title of this series is „SpringMed Health Educational Booklets — ONCOLOGY®”.
At the end of 2004 we have started a new series about cardiological diseases. So far 6 books have been published in the „SpringMed Health Educational Books — CARDIOLOGY®” and will be continued with new books. This project was followed by six more new series in the fields of Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Diabetology and Haematology. Complementary (Alternative) Medicine® (CAM) is a new field of interest in our portfolio of Health Education. There is a growing interest towards CAM from the side of the lay public so we try to provide high quality books for them, especially with buying rights from Foreign Publishing companies. We have started CAM Series with books on Homeopathy and they will be followed by Yoga, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, etc. ln these above mentioned series, the common features are: 1. The publications are created in cooperation with Hungarian Scientific Societies and they are the scientific advisors and authorsof our books. 2. These books are sold through book shops, pharmacy shops and are available at public libraries as well. 3. The promotion of the books is perfectuated through medical websites, medical journals and television channels or other media channels.
The oncology series was followed by a new one on allergy withits various symptoms, causes and aspects. We have published 11 books, each of them focusing on a given type of allergy (food, hay fever, asthma, etc). The title of this series is „SpringMed Health Educational Books — ALLERGOLOGY®”.
Preventional Issues for the Schools and for the lay public was one of our new projects in 2005, with a new series called DISEASES PREVENTED® in which 10 books have already been published.
The authors of this series are the opinion leaders of the Hungarian

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS®” a co-publication with CLASS HEALTH, British Publisher. 7 books have been published so far, and will be followed by new books in the near future. We publish Medical books as well and intend to set up different publishing collaborations with foreign partners, such as co-publishing, licencing -in and -out. 1. We intend to spread information about internationally acknowledged Hungarian Scientific Authors, mainly from the medical sector and help them to publish their books in abroad. 2. We also build up partnership with Foreign Publishers, specialized in Medical books and Journals, and either publish their books in Hungarian, or help them to sell their books and Journals to the Hungarian doctors directly or through the Pharmaceutical Companies. We have established broad contacts with the Hungarian Health Authorities and Civil Organizations and take an active part in the preventive medical activities for the schools and for the lay public initiated by the Government, Ministries, Civil Organizations and Local Governments. Our vision is „To be a strong partner in the field of Hungarian Healthcare issues” – helping doctors as well as patients and their families with high quality professional medical and health educational publications. The original materials are published by the American National Cancer Institute (NCI), which has authorized us to translate and adjust the broshures to the Hungarian conditions by Hungarian Oncologists. The broschures are published in cooperation with the Hungarian League against Cancer. Our purpose is to provide these information materials free to the patients through the civil cancer organizations and Oncology Departments.
