UNITED STATES FOREIGN POLICY IN DEALING WITH THE ISSUE OF RELIGION FREEDOM IN INDONESIA WITH THE PERIOD 2008-2012 (xvi + 96 halaman: 3 chart; 1 tabel; 112 apendiks)
Amerika Serikat merupakan negara adikuasa yang memiliki pengaruh sangat besar terhadap negara-negara di dunia. Nilai yang dipegang oleh Amerika Serikat telah meluas menjadi sebuah nilai universal yang mempengaruhi pandangan negara lain mengenai sesuatu yang dianggap penting. Salah satu yang menjadi fokus negara ini adalah hak asasi manusia, dimana pelanggaran terhadap hak asasi manusia mampu membuat Amerika Serikat ikut campur dalam pemberian sanksi bagi pelanggarnya. Penelitian ini menganalisa pengaruh Amerika Serikat dalam menghadapi adanya pelanggaran agama yang ada di Indonesia, dimana puncak dari perhatian Amerika Serikat adalah kejadian yang terjadi di Monas pada tanggal 1 Juni 2008 yang diwakili oleh salah satu organisasi masa ektrimist Islam yang bernama Front Pembela Islam (FPI) yang menyerang Aliansi Kebangsaan untuk Kebebasan Beragama dan Berkeyakinan (AKKBB). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan dan menjelaskan motif dan tujuan AS mengintervensi Indonesia serta mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh dari intervensi tersebut terhadap tumbuhnya industry Amerika Serikat di Indonesia. Kepedulian Amerika Serikat terhadap Indonesia terutama mengenai kebebasan beragama dan berkeyakinan merupakan salah satu cara yang dipakai Amerika Serikat untuk memastikan adanya perkembangan industry di Indonesia. Gejala ektrimist dari FPI tersebut dibuktikan oleh pernyataan dan tindakan mereka yang selalu bersikap anarkis , data-data tersebut diperoleh dari dokumen resmi, seperti surat kabar dan situs intemet , sedangkan data-data yang mendukung adanya perkembangan industry Amerika di Indonesia merupakan bukti dari kesinambungan antara kedua variable. Referensi: 22 buku (1996-2011), 2 jurnal, 28 website, 1 wawancara.

United States of America is a hegemon country that has big influences toward another countries in the world. Values that are held by USA will definately becoming universal values that could influence another country toward something that considered as important values. One of USA’s focus is human rights, which the violation of human rights could make USA interfere to give sanction for the violator. This paper is try to analyze United States of America’s influences in facing the violation toward the freedom of religion and believe in Indonesia, where the main point was in the event of 1st June 2008 in Monas, which represented by Islamic Defenders Front(FPI) that attacked National Alliance for Freedom of Believe and Religion(AKKBB). The purposes of this paper is revealing and explaining the USA’s motivation intervenes Indonesia and knowing the sustainability of USA’s influence toward the development of USA’s industry in Indonesia. The USA’s concern to Indonesia especially toward the freedom of religion and believe is one of many ways that being used by USA to make sure its industry in Indonesia will develop gradually. The extremist phenomenon from FPI be noted by their statements and actions that always related to anarchist, the data is found by the formal documents such as newspapers and FPI’s blog, while the data that support there were the development of USA’s industry in Indonesia is the evidence of the sustainability between both variables.
