HASIL WAWANCARA 1. Kapan Restaurant UBBB didirikan? Restaurant UBBB didirikan tanggal 29 Juni 2011 di Jakarta, dengan mengambil konsep restaurant gaya barat yang klasik namun dilengkapi sentuhan modern, tepatnya bergaya Classic American Brasserie awal abad dua puluhan. 2. Apa itu Brasserie? Brasserie adalah suatu istilah yang berasal dari Perancis, yaitu Brewerie yang artinya ‘tempat pembuatan bir’. Seiring waktu istilah Brasserie mengalami perluasan arti menjadi fine dining restaurant (restaurant mewah dengan pelayanan professional dimana pelayannya identik menggunakan seragam khas waitress/waiter dengan jas hitam dan kemeja putih). Selain itu, dengan tidak melupakan istilah asalnya yakni Brewerie, Brasserie biasanya dilengkapi dengan bar khusus untuk penjualan bir dan wine. 3. M engapa memilih
mendirikan restaurant bernuansa Classic American
Brasserie? Alasan UBBB mengangkat tema Classic American Brasserie adalah karena konsep ini masih jarang ditemukan di Jakarta, padahal banyak orang asing kaum ekspatriat yang kini sudah mulai menetap di Jakarta untuk melaksanakan bisnis. UBBB melihat adanya peluang bagus untuk mendirikan suatu restaurant yang dapat memenuhi selera dan kebutuhan mereka akan adanya restaurant yang bernuansa retro / vintage / classic / elegant (seperti halnya restaurant yang banyak menjamur di Perancis dan New York-USA) yang menjual aneka menu bergaya barat, termasuk menjual wine dan bir yang sangat digemari oleh kaum asing. Akan tetapi, karena misi UBBB adalah menyediakan dishes berkualitas

tinggi yang bisa dinikmati oleh penduduk Jakarta, baik warga negara asing maupun warga negara asli Indonesia, maka UBBB juga menyediakan menu Asia dan menu asli Indonesia seperti nasi goreng sate lilit atau bakmi ayam, tapi dengan menyajikan suasana layaknya restaurant a la brasserie di New York atau Perancis. 4. Apa bunyi Visi dan M isi UBBB? Visi UBBB adalah “UBBB Made is Well-Made”, yang bila diterjemahkan maksudnya adalah, semua menu makanan dan beverage yang UBBB sajikan memakai bahan baku berkualitas tinggi, semua terbuat secara hand-made, tanpa bahan kimia buatan dan dibuat oleh koki professional. Wine dan bir yang kami jual pun merupakan Wine dan bir yang di import langsung dari luar negeri, dimana kualitasnya sudah terjamin. M isi UBBB lebih tepatnya berbunyi “It’s to make well-refined dishes accessible to the Jakarta Dining Public”, dimana UBBB berusaha untuk menyajikan menu berkualitas yang bisa dinikmati oleh semua kalangan di Jakarta, baik itu Warga Negara Indonesia ataupun Warga Negara Asing. 5. M enu yang disajikan di UBBB? M enu yang UBBB sajikan kebanyakan berupa menu bergaya Amerika dan Eropa (Perancis), seperti Steak, Pasta, Salad, Burger, Seafood (Scallop, Lobster, Tuna, dll.), Frenchfries, Foie Gras dan lain sebagainya. M enu beverage yang disajikanterdiri atas minuman non alcohol (seperti aneka jus buah dan sayuran, aneka mix fruit / vegetable juice, aneka macam mocktail, coffee, tea, dan chocolate) dan ber alkohol (seperti aneka macam wine (mulai dari red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, champagne, beer, dan cocktail). UBBB juga

menyediakan dessert pencuci mulut seperti aneka macam ice cream dan kue-kue seperti Red Velvet Cake misalnya, yang merupakan menu pastry unggulan di UBBB. UBBB juga menyediakan makanan indonesia seperti nasi goreng sate lilit dan bakmie ayam yang dimodifikasi dengan Foie Gras. 6. Struktur Organisasi di UBBB + deskripsi pekerjaan? Restaurant UBBB dijalankan oleh empat orang Direktur Utama yang membawahi satu orang General Manager. Kemudian, General Manager membawahi satu orangMarketing Manager yang memimpin satu orang Marketing Communication dan satu orang Public Relations. Untuk kegiatan operasional restaurant dikelola oleh dua orang Operational Manager dan dua orang Food and Beverage Manager. Direktur Utama bertugas sebagai pemimpin tertinggi, biasanya bertugas mengontrol pekerjaan dari General Manager. General Manager bertugas mengawasi keseluruhan kegiatan dari Marketing Manager dan kegiatan operasional restaurant termasuk memeriksa laporan penjualan, pendapatan. Marketing Manager bertugas membuat program kerja untuk Marketing Communication dan Public Relations serta mengawasi kegiatan keduanya dalam melakukan marketing. Marketing Communication biasanya yang bertugas dalam mengelola komunikasi brand, termasuk dalam membuat brosur dan merancang bentuk packaging produk, dan hal-hal lain yang meliputi perancangan logo, penggunaan warna dan penggunaan simbol lain yang khas UBBB ke dalam material-material fisik.Sedangkan Public Relations lebih cenderung menangani marketing yang bersifat sosial seperti pengadaan event, membuat press release ke majalah-majalah, menangani komunikasi di twitter, menyimpan kontak-

kontak penting misalnya kontak milik para jurnalis atau media, dan lain sebagainya. Untuk Operational Manager,mereka cenderung berfokus pada pengelolaan kegiatan operasional sehari-hari restaurant, misalnya briefing karyawan

(koki,
waitress/waiter,
receptionist,
bartender,
dishwasher), merekrut dan memecat karyawan, mengontrol ada fasilitas yang rusak atau tidak, mengontrol kebersihan restaurant, membuat laporan penjualan, membuat jadwal rapat antar manager, membuat aturan dan standar kerja restaurant, dan lain-lain. Sedangkan Food & Beverage Manager bertugas dalam pembelian bahan baku, pengontrolan stok makanan dan minuman di restaurant, dan mengontrol kualitas dari bahan baku yang dibeli, membuat laporan pembelian bahan baku, dan lain sebagainya. 7. Kegiatan M arketing berjalan di UBBB? Untuk kegiatan promosi, UBBB masih melakukannya secara terbatas seperti melalui interview dengan pihak majalah (jurnalis), mengadakan event atau acaraacara pada hari khusus dan promosi melalui twitter.Biasanya justru pengunjung yang sudah pernah datang kesini yang melakukan review dan menyebarkan berita mengenai UBBB ke teman atau kerabat mereka. Jadi UBBB betul-betul terbantu dengan adanya review yang banyak bermunculan di internet karena secara tidak langsung dapat menarik customer baru untuk datang kesini, walaupun sebenarnya UBBB agak kewalahan untuk merespons review negatif yang sering juga bermunculan. 8. M asalah yang ditemui pada M arketing berjalan? M asalah yang ditemui pada proses marketing sekarang adalah sulitnya mengontrol review yang bermunculan di internet, karena yang menyebarkan

berita tentang UBBB adalah pihak luar, pendapat yang diberikan tentu tidak semuanya memuat hal yang positif mengenai UBBB. Tapi sisi positifnya adalah review di internet lebih mudah dipercaya oleh orang dibandingkan promosi dari pihak UBBB sendiri, karena yang menulis pihak ketiga yang sudah pernah berkunjung, jadi jika banyak review positif yang muncul maka akan berpengaruh baik pada image UBBB di mata masyarakat. Sisi positif lainnya dari review tersebut adalah penyebaran berita mengenai UBBB bisa dilakukan secara gratis dan cepat meluas.Kelemahannya, bila terdapat review negatif tentunya berpengaruh buruk pada image UBBB. M asalah lain mungkin karena belum adanya developer yang bisa membuatkan UBBB sebuah website, sehingga domain yang sudah UBBB beli sampai sekarang masih kosong, tidak terpakai. Padahal website sangat penting digunakan sebagai pusat informasi bagi customer yang ingin datang ke UBBB. 9. Adakah kerjasama dengan pihak lain dalam melakukan promosi? Untuk saat ini UBBB tidak mengadakan kerjasama apapun dengan perusahaan lain, semua promosi UBBB lakukan sendiri, karena UBBB ingin menjadi perusahaan yang mandiri dan tidak tergantung kepada perusahaan lain.Untuk publikasi pun UBBB tidak mau melakukannya secara berlebihan, karena dikhawatirkan dapat membuat jenuh customer dan takut customer yang datang akan merasa terganggu dengan adanya peliputan besar-besaran misalnya. Apalagi UBBB tidak terlalu luas, jika terlalu banyak jurnalis datang untuk meliput, apalagi untuk kru TV, takutnya akan mengganggu privasi customer. Oleh karena itu UBBB biasanya hanya menerima wawancara dari pihak jurnalis majalah saja.

10. Pelayanan yang disediakan UBBB? UBBB menyediakan fasilitas reservasi melalui telepon. Bagi mereka yang ingin reservasi akan di catat namanya dalam buku reservasi oleh receptionist UBBB. Untuk mereka yang tidak mendapat tempat bisa menunggu dalam waiting list. 11. Adakah pelayanan catering atau party organizer untuk perusahaan misalnya? Untuk saat ini UBBB belum menyediakan jasa catering atau party organizer karena belum siap dari segi resource. 12. Jam operasional restaurant? UBBB buka setiap hari dari Senin sampai M inggu, dari jam Sebelas Pagi sampai Jam Sepuluh M alam. Tapi jika ada event tertentu kadang UBBB bisa tutup jam Satu sampai Jam Tiga dini hari. 13. Arti logo yang digunakan? Warna dominan yang digunakan untuk promosi? Logo UBBB yang berbentuk lingkaran digunakan untuk menggambarkan suasana restaurant yang merupakan tempat yang cocok untuk berkumpulnya orang-orang dari berbagai kalangan dalam satu tempat, baik itu dengan keluarga, pasangan, teman, maupun untuk bertemu dengan rekan kerja. Lingkaran menggambarkan suatu unity yang melambangkan persatuan. Oleh karena itu nama UBBB juga melambangkan hal itu (keterangan: berhubung UBBB keberatan
mengumumkan
nama
aslinya,
maka
penulis
tidak
berhak
mencantumkan nama asli UBBB dalam skripsi). Warna yang digunakan di UBBB kebanyakan adalah paduan dari warna Coklat dan Putih, dan Cream. Warna coklat cocok digunakan sebagai warna restaurant karena dapat meningkatkan appetite (nafsu makan). Warna putih pada taplak meja dan dinding digunakan untuk menunjukkan sterilitas dan kebersihan

restaurant UBBB. Warna cream yang sering digunakan pada package produk biasanya untuk menunjukkan sifat klasik American Brasserie yang sifatnya vintage / retro. Untuk warna hijau yang digunakan pada logo, digunakan untuk melambangkan prestige karena target kami kebanyakan adalah kaum sosialita dan kaum menengah ke atas. 14. Target pasar utama? Kaum menengah ke atas, kaum sosialita, artis, karyawan perkantoran sekitar Senayan, Warga Negara Asing maupun Indonesia yang tinggal di apartemen sekitar Senayan. 15. Kompetitor utama? Untuk kompetitor sejenis di Jakarta, yang jenis restaurant nya hampir sama dengan UBBB, sebenarnya cukup banyak, tapi yang lumayan terkenal adalah JR, LN, dan yang terakhir mungkin CT (Untuk menjaga privasi UBBB dan kompetitor utama, maka nama asli kompetitor utama disamarkan). 16. Kebutuhan website UBBB? Yang biasa saja sebenarnya tidak apa-apa, berupa HTM L (brochureware), yang penting ada informasi yang bisa diberikan untuk customer, dan yang penting tema dan konsepnya sesuai dengan yang diangkat UBBB (ciri khas UBBB tergambar dalam website tersebut). Contoh informasi yang bisa diberikan mungkin, informasi menu dan harganya, galeri restoran, informasi promo dan event yang akan diselenggarakan, informasi nomor telepon reservasi, alamat restoran. Boleh ditambahkan fasilitas komentar atau testimonial.

17. Apakah UBBB membutuhkan fasilitas online ordering? Untuk saat ini sepertinya UBBB belum membutuhkan, tapi untuk waktu dekat mungkin order online untuk bakery / pastry bisa dicoba, karena sudah ada sistem pengemasan yang baik untuk take away produk bakery / pastry. Tapi karena resource nya belum memungkinkan, UBBB masih belum terpikir untuk menyediakan fasilitas ini. Untuk saat ini, kalau ada pelanggan yang ingin agar pegawai kami untuk menyisakan atau menyimpankan menu Pastry yang cepat sekali habisnya, misalnya Red Velvet Cake, pelanggan bisa menelpon terlebih dahulu. Nanti Pegawai UBBB di bagian bakery /pastry akan menyimpankan dan mengemasnya dalam package khusus untuk pelanggan, jadi pelanggan nanti bisa langsung mengambilnya kesini dan membawanya ke rumah. 18. Apakah UBBB membutuhkan reservasi online? Belum terlalu butuh sepertinya, karena belum ada pegawai yang bisa mengatur / mengelolanya. Tapi kalau memang terbukti bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan reservasi, mungkin bisa dicoba untuk diterapkan di masa mendatang. 19. Apakah UBBB akan membuka cabang lagi? Untuk saat ini UBBB belum mempunyai rencana untuk membuka cabang lagi di daerah lain, lagipula hal tersebut tergantung dari kebijakan pimpinan perusahaan.

REVIEW MENGENAI UBBB DARI BERBAGAI SUMBER DI INTERNET Review 1:
Apa jadinya jika sepasang suami istri yang sama-sama berprofesi sebagai chef berkolaborasi membuka restoran? pastinya akan menyajikan hidangan dengan hasil kreasi terbaik. Pengalaman kuliner itulah yang akan Anda dapatkan di UBBB, restoran yang dikelola oleh pasangan chef muda, AM danKC. UBBB berada diPlaza Senayan Courtyardtepatnya di dalam Sogo Department Store. Berbekal pengalaman menjadi chef de partie di Gordon Ramsay, M ichelin 2 star restaurant di London Hotel New York, AM bertanggung jawab atas hidangan yang disajikan yang sebagian besar adalah menu khas Amerika dan Eropa. Sedangkan KCyang memang mendalami dunia pastry, siap memanjakan lidah Anda dengan kreasi pastry yang spesial. Bagi pecinta seafood dan pasta, Scallop Aglio Olio Spaghetti bisa jadi pilihan untuk hidangan utama. Spaghetti al dente dengan taburan merica dan olive oil dipadu dengan scallop yang segar dan lembut. Ada juga The M illionaire, rib-eye steak yang disajikan dengan lobster dan foie gras. Yang juga menarik untuk dicoba adalah Angus Beef Sirloin Steaks, Whole Roast Baby Chicken, Carbonara dan makanan khas Indonesia seperti Fried Rice With Sate Lilit dan Fish Cakes (Otak-otak). Untuk dessert, jangan lupa mencicipi Red Velvet Cake yang juga menjadi signature cake dari Chef KC. Tekstur kue yang lembut dengan warna merah yang cantik ini memiliki rasa legit yang pas, tidak terlalu manis dan creamy. Selain Red Velvet Cake juga masih ada Crispy Chocolate Cake, Crunchy Chocolate Cake, Banana Cake dan Carrot Cake. Kue potong ini rata-rata ditawarkan dengan harga Rp 50.000 dengan ukuran yang cukup besar untuk porsi perorangan. Bersantap diUBBB Anda tidak hanya akan disuguhi sajian lezat, tapi juga suasana yang nyaman. Konsep open window di salah satu sisi bangunan ikut mengalirkan udara segar dan hangatnya cahaya matahari ke dalam restoran. Suasana American classic juga terasa dari pilihan furnitur yang sederhana dan pajangan dinding berupa gambar-gambar vintage era 1920an. Sebagai restoran pendatang baru, UBBB dengan cepat menarik perhatian kaum metropolis Jakarta. Jika Anda berencana mengunjungi UBBB, ada baiknya melakukan reservasi sebelumnya. Tempat ini tidak pernah sepi dari sejak pagi hingga malam hari. Review 2: When you walk into a bar, there is a saying that you must know your bartender. And when you walk into UBBB, you must go straight to the bar (which is a given anyway, if you did not book a table minimum 3 days beforehand, you're not getting in) and you must get to know your bartenders or as we say these days, Mixologists. As you reach the bar stool, you will see two very serious gentlemen very intensely whipping, shaking, rubbing and stirring all sorts of colourful liquids. They are Kiki Moka the head Mixologist that is responsible for the cotton
L16 candy, pop-rocks and vintage cocktails at , working side by side with Erickson Marolop creating one of the most original cocktails in Jakarta, dare we say Indonesia. Kiki focuses on the classic cocktails and adds a twist of wizardry and a lot of ingenuity to it. This is quite evident in the Pineapple and Cinnamon Julep, where a generous amount of Bourbon is served over crushed ice, pineapple juice, cinnamon powder and also served with a skewer of sugar coated, char-grilled pineapple wedges which is divinely refreshing. If you have enjoyed the previously mentioned, then you will have no problem luxuriating on sugary and bitterly goodness of Old-Fashioned classic enjoyed since the 19th century. At UBBB, this classic is served with a twist as the sugar cube is gently rubbed with ginger, smoked with Orange Bitters and served with dry ice. The dry ice in the drink creates a smoke with all the sensational ingredients infused and is placed in a silver teapot and poured into a jam jar for your delightful consumption. With his tools and the meticulous manner in which he prepares his cocktails, Kiki is surely the Wizard Mixologist of Indonesia. Erickson on the other hand, is more flamboyant with his drinks and derives a lot of inspiration from mostly anything Japanese. T ake for example his Ogura Cocktail with muddled red beans, Russian vodka and hazelnut beer. T his sweet, foamy cocktail with a creamy finish will surely be a favourite choice for the ladies. Another one of his creations is the Royal Jasmine Martini that is simply aromatic, tasty and easy to drink thanks to the honey and green tea flavoured spirits. But overall, we can conclude that his masterpiece is the T ruffle Popcorn of which his inspiration draws from a Japanese corn snack, commonly munched on in the cinemas. This vodka based drink tries to resemble a popcorn through caramel syrup and corn infusions. A good portion of the entire glass is covered in salt so that when you take a sip it feels like you have dipped your hands into a bag of sweet and salty popcorn. The finishing touch is the spray of truffle oil over the cocktail for the standing ovation finish. He should be recognised as the Rebel Mixologists for his bold and daring cocktails. With almost 40 unique and original cocktails, UBBB is T HE place (as we mentioned before) where it is highly recommended that you know who your bartenders are as they can whip up anything catered to suit your needs. The other great thing about UBBB is that the cocktails are not superficial nor overrated and most importantly they are created by the most talented local mixologists in the country. This is the hub where local mixologists are made and where tantalizing cocktails are born. Review 3: Opened at the beginning of July 2011, UBBB is the most happening bar in Jakarta at the time of writing. UBBB has a retro setting, serves expensive "chic" food (but with average taste) and its atmosphere is both cosmopolitan and busy. T he best thing about it is actually its location, with a view on the Plaza Senayan Courtyard, which I find quite unique in Jakarta: I visited on a Thursday afternoon, and it was so full that we had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. The waiter was friendly, but visibly overwhelmed and still new to the job, which is normal only a few days after opening. T he menu has something for everyone: Burgers (one of them with
L17 foie gras, yuk!), pastas, grilled meat, asian favourites, etc... Nothing very original. The prices are quite high: On average, a meal will cost you around Rp150,000k without drinks. The third one was the rib-eye steak (Rp195,000++). T he food did not come with a nice presentation. On the photos it may look fine, but that's only an impression. In real, nothing looked appetizing. The salad was the best dish among the three, but it wasn't very fresh and there was so much sauce it would have been healthier for me to drink a glass of oil. The french fries that came with the burger were not well-cooked, and more importantly, the beef patty had so little flavours I thought it was a vegetarian burger. The worst was the rib-eye, which was not medium as we had ordered it, and was an average-quality steak with some boring accompanying vegetables. Overall: I may sound negative in this review, but I actually liked UBBB because the location is great, the design is neat, and it feels busy. Yet, I also think the food, though not terrible, is too expensive for the quality you get. My recommendation would be to try UBBB for a drink (small Heineken=Rp30k++) and to avoid in particular the grilled meat.

Review 5: Atmosphere: I loveeeee the vibe at UBBB ! Dark wood paneling and furniture, white tiles, vintage pictures hanging on the wall and the most exciting, Open windows ! The view are amazing since it’s located at the front of Plaza Senayan’s Fountain ( Yes they have one ! – go to Sogo’s Starbucks then you’ll know). And don’t worry about the Jakarta’s heat, because they place some Air Con ( or fan ? I don’t know :p ) at their windows. I love this concept, and I found it really cozy to hang at this place. And yeah… The waiter are soooo friendly. Price : A little bit pricey, but worth it. 60k – 150k. Approximately 100k- 150k/ person.

Food : I found all the dishes that I’ve had are pretty yum! Before we eat, we’ve been served by their bread that accompanying with butter, salt and olive oil. The bread taste fresh and a little bit chewy. So for starters we order Romaine Caesar Salad ( Rp. 60.000,- ). T his salad are really good! Consist of Romaine Lettuce, Chicken, Half Boiled Egg, Potato chips and Bacon bits with a light mayonnaise dressing. T he Potato chips and the Bacon really gives a nice crunchiness on this salad. Fun to eat. We also order Scallop Aglio Olio Spaghe tti ( Rp. 70.000,- ). The first look, I thought it was sooooo dry. But then, I know that the Scallop and Olive oil was at the bottom. The Scallop was sooooo fresh!! And it cooked perfectly! ( Not too raw, not too overcooked ) T aste sweet and soft, not chewy at all. The spaghetti are cooked al dente with a dash of chili flakes and olive oil. Nice ! Then, we order Whole Roast Baby Chicken – for two pe rsons ( Rp. 100.000,- ) Served with potato wedge s and vegetables. T he Chicken was roasted perfectly with lemon and rosemary, it’s quite tender. The sauce are more taste like tomato soup ( sour and salty ). Well… I don’t like the sauce, so I leave it alone. The potato wedges are nice and crunchy. Drinks! they serve some fancy cocktails too. So we try the waiter’s recommendation which is Cotton Candy Cosmopolitan Cocktails ( Rp. 85.000,- ). First served, we’ve been amazed by some foam ( or I don’t know what it’s been called ) that is big, and cotton candy like. T hen the waiter pour some of the liquid, and the cotton candy we’re melted ( Aaaaaaaaa….. ! ) The cocktail taste so refreshing because it’s really sour :p ( I thought it will be so sweet since it’s name is cotton candy. Oh well… :p ) Then, Ice Peach Tea ( Rp.25.000,-), taste nice. And Fresh Lemon Juice ( Rp. 20.000,- ), taste really sour and refreshing Dessert! Yeah… T heir Red Velvet Cake was already been the talk of the town, so I really curious about this cake and really want to try ( Red Velvet lovers !!! ) But unfortunately, my last piece of the cake was given to another customer ( even I’ve already order it first), because of the missed communication of the waiter ( huaaaaa…… ). But then, the good waiter ordered me some of another cake which is Crispy Chocolate Cake, for a COMPLIMENT ARY of what has been happen. ( Yaayyy…. ! ). Then the cake served nicely with it’s beautiful thin crust, layer of dark chocolate and raspberry and blueberry garnish. The cake tasted sooooo heavenly ! It’s crunchiness from the thin crust, and the bittersweet chocolate was reminding me of Ferrero Rocher Chocolate :p After I go home and look at the bill, I’ve just noticed that there’s a bottle of Equil charges in the bill even though I’m not ordering it. Oh well…. I already had a nice serviced, nice food, and nice time at UBBB, so I don’t mind ( Unconditional love . LOL). But next time, I will sure to check the bill again, and make sure that I’ve got my own Red Velvet Cake ! *Noted :p

Review 6: The name says it all. UBBB, a ne w restaurant in Plaza Senayan, offers foodies a number of culinary marriages sure to tickle the taste buds. For those who love East-meets-West fare, the bakmie ayam (local chicken noodle dish) with foie gras provides a luxury take on a street-food staple. For meat-lovers, The Millionaire could be the dish to try. This hearty dish is comprised of lobster, rib-eye steak and foie gras — and it comes in a serving for two. The usual grill options are also available, such as Angus beef sirloin steaks, New Zealand lamb chops and a selection of handmade sausages, alongside Indonesian staples such as nasi goreng with sate lilit (Balinese fish satay), otak-otak (fish cakes) and bakso (meatball soup). UBBB also offers a selection of veggie-based smoothies, in line with the city’s growing health trend, with spinach, both the red and Japanese varieties, the core ingredients. One Sunday morning, a friend and I decided to visit the new restaurant to sample their brunch menu, offered seven days a week. Sitting close to the windows, we caught some morning sunlight on our table. I ordered the omelette with grilled sausage and mushrooms and a glass of fresh watermelon juice, while my friend ordered Norwegian-style eggs with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. The T oulouse sausage wa s perfectly juicy and savory, but the omelette was a little bland to my taste, saved only by the flavorsome grilled mushrooms. Meanwhile, my friend’s Norwegian eggs was definitely the better brunch option — the half-done egg yolk melted at the touch of a knife, while the creamy hollandaise sauce made for the perfect topping. We also tried the tiramisu, served in an unusually large mug. Not only was the presentation distinctive, but the dessert was light and delicious. Filled with espresso anglaise, a milky custard flavored with robust espresso, each scoop contained a balanced mix of strong and subtle flavors. As for the decor, UBBB has a strong 1920s America feel, lined with grandiose, dark-framed windows and boasting a semi-outdoor setting. Dark-brown parquet flooring and white-tiled pillars complete the look, while a cluttered collection of black-and-white photographs adorn one wall of the cafe. The most impressive thing about the decor is the attention to detail, such as the incorporation of antique mirrors, aged furniture and even old cabinets with missing knobs on the drawers, giving the place a quirky, vintage feel. But the food is the real winner at this venue. Managed by the same team behind popular Jakarta hangout, the kitchen staff include chef AM, who once worked at British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, Maze, in New York as well as pastry chef and local celebrity KC. And that’s a UBBB sure to dish up some fresh fusion flavors.

Review 7: European style brasserie dining- refined bistro cuisine in an elegant yet casual settinghas proven a hit with diners in Jakarta in recent years. The sustained popularity of the brasserie-style bar and restaurant, (opened in 2008), led the same partners to launch a new restaurant last year . Some minor tweaking of a successful concept has resulted in what has become, almost overnight, one of Jakarta’s most popular destinations for allday dining, and a buzzing evening drinks scene. UBBB enjoys a prime location on the ground level of the upscale Plaza Senayan mallwith an expansive frontage onto the open external courtyard. UBBB serves a menu of classic European and Asian style dishes, with contemporary interpretation and preparations under the direction of Head Chef AM and Head Pastry Chef KC. The bar at UBBB draws on the acclaimed expertise of the mixologists at sister venue - with an impressive offering of classic cocktails that have been updated with innovative ingredients and techniques. UBBB is solidly busy 7 days a week, queues for tables are common most nights. And even though the friendly table service is efficient, with tables clearing at a steady rate, reservations are recommended. I loved the way the restaurant is set up. It is facing the courtyard with fountain with lots of natural light coming in from the big windows. I stepped in and almost felt like I walked into a restaurant in Europe. I was in the mood for a salad and the salad I ordered hit the spot. I was satisfied although a couple of my friends later told me I need to be careful when I order salad in Jakarta. True. I’ve already had parasite, so I don’t need to be too adventurous although I ordered salad there because the restaurant looked to me safe. The minestrone soup, on the other hand, was a little bit of disappointment. Oh well. My friend, Kara, ordered a plate with salmon from a starter and she seemed to have enjoyed it. For lunch, the price for the location, I would say standard. It might be more on the expensive side, but based on my expats dining experience in Jakarta, it’s probably average. I enjoyed the whole dining experience more than anything and will I go back? Definitely yes. Review 8: There’s a new restaurant opening in town that was said to belong to the celebrated chefs AM &KC. Located at Plaza Senayan. the place quickly becomes one of the hippest places in Jakarta. I heard that the place were often full, so last month I went there at around 3 PM . It was still crowded, but luckily I can get a table until 5 PM . The place is a smoking restaurant, so naturally SC didn’t want to join me. Although I got a table in the non-smoking area, the smell of smoke is still quite strong. Since I was eating alone and I’ve already had lunch, I only ordered creamless carbonara tagliatelle with pork bacon and parmesan 50K with tea (20K+, can’t remember the exact price). The pasta was delicious, it was creamless and only covered in egg. The funny thing is, when I tweeted about creamless carbonara, my friends noted that carbonara

should be creamless. But here in Indonesia, many assumed that carbonara is a white creamy sauce (American influence perhaps?). After that, I ordered Chef KC’s signature red velvet cake 50K, which was moist and has the right level of sweetness. I love it! Too bad the portion were too big for me. Severals weeks later, I went back with several friends (SC joined for a while, but left quickly since many around us were smoking). We decided to try only the dessert, so we ordered carrot cake 50K, crunchy chocolate cake 50K and banana cake 50K to share. I have to admit that all of the cakes were superb. After that, we couldn’t resist to ordered M ini wagyu burgers with truffle fries 55K and pork crackling & bacon lard on spaghetti with alba truffle cream 70K. As the menu was written as ‘mini burgers’, we expected to get more than one mini burger, but we got only 1 mini burger with fries. The burger was decent though, and the fries were superb, with a distinct aroma of truffle salt if I’m not mistaken. The pasta were also good, although a tad too salty, thanks to the pork & bacon lard. The cream sauce were also delicious. Overall we had a great time. The food is good, even though it’s quite pricey, but we worshipped the dessert. The service is a bit lacking though, especially during the more crowded afternoon and evening hours. It took forever just to get any waiter to write down our orders, and later on, it took an equally long time for our bill to show up. Considering the smoking policy however, I will never sit here again. If I craved for UBBB’s cakes, I’ll just buy them for take away. Review 9: After being away from Jakarta for almost a year, the first place someone recommended me to go for cake was UBBB. In particular, for the red velvet cake. Opened only in July 2011, this restaurant has entered the most happening places list of the capital. It’s difficult to book a table for weekend evenings and there are no reservations allowed between 12-4pm in the afternoon. Twice I’ve arrived around 3 and found myself waiting behind 5 or 6 names. Still, don’t be deterred. The wait is usually 20-30 minutes in this period and its strategic location in one of the largest malls will offer alternative timepassing activities. If you aren’t looking hard enough, it’s really easy to miss the mall entrance to UBBB. Located behind two narrow glass doors covered with wooden blinds in a corridor after a large Starbucks, you wouldn’t expect the space behind to contain anything big. But open the doors and you will see what I say is the best part of the restaurant – the bread and cake display. The rest of the restaurant is decorated in the style of a brasserie – wooden chairs, black tables, some red sofa chairs and tall black paneled glass windows. Another striking decorative item are the black and white (and occasionally colored) pictures covering the walls. I thought that it was a nice touch as they give the restaurant an artistic, cosmopolitan feel.

Like most other places in Jakarta, one would go to UBBB mostly for the ambience. The food is nothing out of the ordinary. Twice I’ve been there for meals (a lunch and a dinner) and sadly I can’t recall any dish that is memorable. Afternoon’s a better time to go. The cappucino is not bad for Indonesian standard and the red velvet is the best the city has to offer. The cake is moist and although the cream might be a bit too sweet, the 4 layer of cakes make up for it. The caramelized nuts add an earthy flavor and crunch. Genius. Yeah, people complain it’s too rich or too much but portions this size and cakes this tall are meant to be We’ve also been hearing talk about the pandan desserts of the restaurant, with some recommending the pandan doughnut while others the pandan cake. Half of us have tried the doughnut before so this time we went for the pandan cake. The verdict? The pandan cake is better than the doughnut, but if you compare it to the red velvet, the latter wins hands down. I thought the pandan taste wasn’t strong enough. Despite the food or the slow service in the restaurant, I would gladly go back to UBBB for afternoon teas and the Red Velvet Cake. It’s a cozy place to catch up with a few friends in the afternoon and big enough to accommodate a reUBBB or ‘arisan’. I’ve also seen the place becoming more and more packed as the hour gets late, especially around the bar. Plus, turn over gets quicker in the evenings (e.g. table only for dinner up to 10pm). It’s the current place to be and be seen. Review 10: M asih cerita weekend kemarin, last saturday M rs Jajan and friend had a lunch at UBBB Plaza Senayan, karena katanya tempatnya suka full, jadi M rs Jajan sudah reservasi tempat beberapa hari sebelumnya. Sampai disana pas jam makan siang, meja-meja terisi penuh hampir 90% sepertinya. Interiornya menarik dari luar tampak seperti rumah kaca dengan jendela yang full menghadap ke fountain di courtyard sana sehingga tempatnya terang, tempatnya cukup cozy tapi agak sempit and dempet antar meja sehingga cukup berisik. AnakJajan pesan Whole Roast Baby Chicken for Two harganya 100k, Red Velvet Cake 50k, Grand Marnier Creme Brulee 50k, dan minumannya Life is Good 40k, Horenzo 40k. Satu-satunya yg enak potato wedgesnya. Grand Marnier Creme Brulee 50k Creme Bruleenya disajikan dengan semangkuk kecil tropical fruit juice yang kental. Juice atau saus creme bruleenya enak, ada aroma mangganya, asem-asem manis. Creme bruleenya sendiri tidak terlalu manis, tapi rada pahit karena mengandung alkohol and caramel. Perpaduan creme brulee dengan sausnya sangat cocok, not bad but not our favorite creme brulee. Review 11: UBBB. Orang yang aware akan kuliner dan tempat nongkrong baru pasti udah denger resto/bar baru di Plaza Senayan ini. M inggu kemarin, sehari sebelum bulan puasa, pacar ngerengek buat kumpul sama teman-temannya di UBBB. Dua hari sebelumnya dia reservasi untuk minum-minum cantik jam 4 – 7 malem untuk sepuluh orang. Reservation done, kita dapet meja. Confirm. Eh tetapi… Begitu sampai di sana, ternyata bukannya dapet meja, kita masih masuk daftar waiting list dong. M urka lah kita. Ngomel sana sini, trus akhirnya dikasih meja di sofa yang cuma muat enam orang dengan janji begitu nanti ada meja buat bersepuluh kita bakal dipindah. M emang saat itu restoran lagi penuh-penuhnya. Biasa lah tempat nongkrong baru. Gw suka sama tempatnya sih. Cozy walaupun agak sempit kalo pas penuh banget. Viewnya emperan gedung sebelah Plaza Senayan yang ternyata ada air mancurnya. *baru tau* Tapi dasar gw kan anti sosial banget, rasanya gak nyaman aja dikelilingin orang banyak. Not to mention para sosialita yang ngobrol teriak-teriak dan ketawa ngakak.

Gw sore itu minum M ango Jalapeno, coconut cocktail -gw lupa namanya- (Coconut syrup + whiskey + coconut ice cream. Rasanya JUARA!!:D) Food wise, kayak label harganya bikin agak males buat pesen. Hehehe. Rasanya so-so kalo menurut gw, bahkan temen gw yang makan Rib Eye Steak (Rp.195.000++) bilang rasanya gak banget. Cuma nachos-nya enak kalo kata gw. M ungkin kabar baiknya, makanannya disajikan dengan porsi yang gede. M ie Ayam Foie Gras (Rp. 55.000++) yang digadang-gadang andalan di sini pun ternyata terlalu oily dan rasanya enak biasa aja. Overall, untuk tempat makan mungkin UBBB bukan pilihan yang utama ya. Tapi kalo buat ngemil trus minum-minum sore sangat direkomendasikan. Gw belum kesampaian mau nyoba Red Velvet cake-nya (Rp.40.000++ per slice gede) yang kayaknya best seller di sana. Abis gw lihat pelayannya mondar-mandir bawa kue itu untuk tamu. Mengangkat suasana classic american brasserie yang casual. Suasana sangat bagus seperti restaurant di New York, dengan rancangan semi outdoor Lokasi mudah dijangkau, terletak di lantai dasar mall. Kebanyakan menu pastry dan beverage sangat disukai pengunjung, sedangkan untuk menu makanan tidak semua disukai. Pembagian area merokok dan non-rokok tidak jelas. Jenis menu yang dijual campuran dari makanan Italia, Perancis, dan Indonesia.

REVIEW MENGENAI JR Review 1: JR is a bar and restaurant opened in December 2010 in the Cyber 2 Building. It is targeting rich Indonesians and expatriates with a different atmosphere for lunch and for dinner. During lunch, they serve some fast food dishes (or at least easy to prepare) in a bistro-type atmosphere. At night, JR is more like a lounge, with louder music and many customers coming only for cocktails. I have tried this place only for lunch and I was very disappointed. I was with three friends, so we had three dishes, and here are our griefs: - T he "steak-frites" (Rp265,000 with tax): The french fries were not well-cooked and the beef not very tender. - The Vietnamese-style sandwich (Rp90,000 with tax):Not bad, but in Cali Deli you can have a similar sandwich for half the price. The potato chips served as an accompanying dish were not crispy. - T he Spaghtetti Arrabiatta (Rp90,000 with tax): Overall taste not great. Conclusion: I recommend you to avoid JR Jakarta for lunch. T hey serve mediocre food at outrageous prices and I hope they will change something about it soon. So far this restaurant feels like a tourist (or expat) trap.
Concerning the design, it is elegant, but surely not worth paying such a premium on food items. For the evenings, I know they organize parties/DJ events but I still have to check it. It is probably worth the try and I'll update this review soon with more information. Update July 2011: I went to JR on a Wednesday night for a drink and it was much more nicer than during the day.
L27 Review 2: From the group that revolutionised the dining and bar experience in Jakarta, comes an exciting new venture; ladies and gentlemen, please welcome JR to the scene. JR has the same similar swa gger of sophistication and causal comfort atmosphere as their other venues and of course it is also of no surprise that on the weekends, you need to book way ahead of time if you want a table at this place. The decor of JR is without a doubt very impressive, with the most spectacular element about the interior is that it is being done up as a Rustique 20's Jazz style and that together with the high ceiling makes this place very spacious and grand. Let's also not forget the private VIP section and 20 seat dining area upstairs that makes a loud statement as soon as you enter. As for the food, JR is as original as they come. An excellent example can be found in this starter dish- the 12 hours pork belly artistically blended with whiskey mustard, pink peppercorn skin with a drizzle of mustard. Or we also highly recommend the Duck and Mushroom tortellini with caramelised pears and duck jus. At first glance you feel you might have mistakenly ordered a wonton, but once you take a bite into it, the sweetness of the pear with the rich duck stuffing is simply divine. Their daily special menu is also available for mains. Usually incorporating heavy but good quality steak dishes ,pasta and much more. Their cold cut trio with cold spaghetti, smoked ham and beef, peppered beef, baby romaine and cheese is perfect to share especially if you are going to grab a bottle of red from their comprehensive wine list and or sample their very inventive cocktails. Another must try is the JR 10oz BLT burger with American spreads, pork bacon, swiss cheese, and a cone of gruyere truffle fries impressively comes out with a knife stabbed right in the middle of the burger. Overall if you have a passion for good food and are adventurous to try some very original dishes, and looking to have a fantastically good time as well, JR is the hottest spot to be right now!

The interior design is neat, with a retro-chic atmosphere that is sadly starting to become banal in Jakarta. One of my friends complained about their service and I agree there seems to be some training to do in the next few months. The waiters are nice, but they are not always available and attentive. The menu features mostly home-made pasta and authentic Italian pizzas. The prices vary a lot, but on average, it is Rp100k for a pizza including tax, and slightly less for pasta. I ordered the "Prosciutto e Funghi" pizza (Rp86k with tax). It is more expensive than the average in Jakarta, but I considered it was worth it since it is one of the best I'v e had here. I also tried a Crème Caramel for dessert, and again, I found it very decent compared to what you can get elsewhere in Jakarta. Overall: On the contrary with many hip, overpriced venues in Jakarta, the food in LN actually tastes good, and I have many friends who share the same opinion. All I can hope is that the cook, an Italian, will stay long enough to train well his future replacement. Recommended, you may want to make a reservation if you go there during the weekend.

Terletak di Plaza Bapindo, kawasan Sudirman, Jakarta, LN adalah pilihan yang tepat untuk para pekerja kantoran yang ingin bersantai dan mencicipi hidangan Italia sehabis bekerja. Saat memasuki LN, suasana yang nyaman dan berkelas akan langsung terasa. Plus dengan lampu yang temaram dan dinding batu bata tanpa plesteran, lantai bermotif geometris serta furnitur ala classic, casual, tetapi tetap chic. Ruangan restoran ini dibagi ke dalam area bar, area dining, serta dua ruangan VIP. Area bar sengaja diletakan di area paling depan sehingga pengunjung akan langsung dihadapkan dengan sebuah whisky bar sepanjang 30 meter. LN menawarkan berbagai menu Italia mulai dari hidangan pembuka, utama dan penutup.

Sedangkan hidangan utamanya, restoran yang berkonsep ala New York ini menyajikan aneka menu pasta, pizza dan steak. Sedangkan makanan penutup yang paling direkomendasikan adalah melted chocolate muffin. Bagi Anda penggemar wine maupun whisky, LN bisa menjadi acuan. Jenis minuman lain seperti juice and cocktails pun tersedia dengan harga terjangkau. Selain menu Italia, LN juga menyajikan menu Asia seperti Frog Legs Deep Fried with Salty Eggs, atau aneka Bento. M enu yang paling membuat sebagian orang terkesan adalah Ravioli Con Taleggio Pere plus keju yang kental. Diisi dengan blue cheese dan disiram dengan cheese sauce. Review 3: Satu restoran baru lagi muncul di uf uk Jakarta. Namanya: LN. Logonya bergambar rembulan gelap. Karena salah seorang pemiliknya adalah artis, Becky T umewu, tak heran bila restoran ini pun langsung menjadi happening. Tampilan LN sangat mirip dengan restoran-restoran papan atas yang be rmunculan di Jakarta dalam be be rapa tahun terakhir ini. Menye diakan wine dan minuman be ralkohol, menyajikan masakan be rgaya Eropa (termasuk menu non-halal), dan be rpenampilan smart casual. Banyak restoran se rupa di Singapura yang juga mirip-mirip itu penampilannya. Semuanya mencoba menjaring kelas sosial young urban professionals. Begitu masuk LN, vie w yang langsung "menghadang" adalah se buah me ja bar panjang dari pualam putih be rgurat abu-abu. Di sinilah para tamu mendinginkan sol se patu sambil menunggu teman maupun pasangan, sambil minum segelas dua, se belum kemudian melangkah ke ruang makan. Se betulnya, apa yang ditampilkan LN tidak terlalu beda dengan sajian restoran serupa lainnya. T etapi, LN memberi sentuhan khusus yang membuatnya istimewa. Contohnya adalah Panseared Tuna yang umum disajikan berbagai resto modern. Filet tebal tuna di taburi wijen semua sisinya, kemudian di-pan-seared dengan minyak zaitun keempat sisinya sampai agak crusty. Ketika diiris menjadi beberapa sayatan tipis, masih tampak bagian tengahnya merah seperti sashimi. Di LN, irisan tuna ini ditata di atas salad yang terdiri atas: lettuce, ruccola, jeruk, dan pear kemudian disiram dengan saus cuka apel. Di atasnya ditaburi kacang mede sangrai yang ditumbuk kasar. Sungguh unik dan mengesankan. LN juga menampilkan beberapa items yang dapat disantap bersama-sama (shared, makan tengah). Misalnya seafood paella (saffron rice gaya Spanyol, Rp 600 ribu), seafood in tomato sauce (lobster dan berbagai ikan, mirip cioppino, Rp 600 ribu), dan porterhouse steak 1 kilogram (gaya bistecca alla fiorentina) - yang dapat disantap bertiga atau bahkan berempat.

Dengan interior yang cozy, LN sungguh cocok untuk santap malam romantis berdua. Review 4: LN, satu lagi restaurant bertemakan lounge bar dengan konsep berkelas yang sangat classic dan modern. Berlokasi di tengah pusat kota metropolitan, Plaza Bapindo, LN menjadi salah satu resto yang diincar banyak kaum ekspatriat sebagai tempat yang tepat untuk melepas penat. Ke unikan yang jarang ditemui terse dia di dalam LN, yaitu bar se panjang kurang le bih 30 me ter, menjadi bar te rpanjang yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia. Bar sepanjang itu dilengkapi dengan barisan wine yang lengkap dan beragam. Suasana cozy ala New York sangat terasa begitu OpenRicers memasuki kawasan LN, dengan desain berkelas penuh lampu hias yang tinggi dan dinding bata classic. Bukan hanya dari se gi tampilan desain LN saja yang mampu menarik pe rhatian para pengunjung, namun juga ditunjang de ngan sajian menu masakan lengkap ala Italia dengan be rbagai pilihan. Salah satu menu yang cukup populer adalah Pizza LN, dengan porsi yang sangat besar, dibagi menjadi 6 potongan besar parma ham, ditaburi mozarella cheese dan saus tomat. Pizza LN ini merupakan jenis flat bread pizza (tipis) yang tidak terlalu crunchy. Menutup santapan berkesan Anda, tersedia juga dessert yang sangat sayang bila OpenRicers lewatkan begitu saja. Melted Chocolate Cake, muffin yang dipanggang sempurna dengan taburan gula halus di atasnya. Coba saja OpenRicers potong secara kecil, maka melted chocolate akan tumpah berpadu dengan potongan muffin panggangnya. Semakin sempurna lagi dengan es krim vanilla yang memang disajikan dalam Melted Chocolate Cake. 45.000 IDR menjadi harga yang cukup terjangkau bila melihat dari rasa nikmat yang didapat. Pelayanan yang professional, desain interior yang sangat berkelas serta sajian menu masakan dan barisan wine lengkap, semua menjadi paket yang sempurna bagi OpenRicers yang hendak menghabiskan waktu berkualitas bersama sahabat terdekat maupun rekan kerja. REVIEW MENGENAI CT Review 1: CT is a hip restaurant located in Pacific Place and Plaza Indonesia. In both places, they are next to the bookstore Aksara, to which they are related. I visited the CT in Plaza Indonesia during the afternoon on a Saturday. It was quite crowded, with expats and visibly rich, cool Indonesians. Some of them looked familiar and could have been actors or singers. At night, I think it is best to make a reservation. I liked the setting, in particular the fact that it is in a quiet part of the mall. With large windows letting a lot of light inside, and comfortable seats, it is a cozy venue, designed to be a hangout spot as much as a restaurant. Their menu features continental food, with mostly Italian dishes. Everything seemed fine until I ordered my food: Salade Niçoise (Rp55,000++), Rib-eye steak (Rp110,000++), Bruschetta (Rp45,000++), and Orange juice. A 2-course meal with soft drink should cost you around Rp200,000+. To give you an idea of how expensive it is, in some 5-star hotels restaurants in Jakarta, you can have a set lunch menu at the same price. First, I didn't get a good feeling when I found out the orange juice had been mixed with water. In other restaurants in Jakarta, they usually hide it by putting ice in your glass, but I had asked for none so instead they used this trick. They could have given me half a glass I would have been happier. The Bruschetta was fine, just overpriced in my opinion for some simple toasts with tomatoes and olive oil. The presentation was fine though. The Salad was a miss. I don't want to make a big fuss about it, but I think I should mention that I found a white worm in it. I know it can happen even with fresh food though, so it should not be the main focus point. What is more important is that it tasted average and the ingredients used were low-quality. Each bites felt cheap: The tuna, the tomatoes, the beans, the sauce. No matter how good the chef is, if you don't use good ingredients, you end up with low-end restaurants dishes. At last, there wasn't any incident with the rib-eye steak, but it was low-quality beef: not tasty nor tender. Overall: I don't have any grudge about CT but I think it should be avoided because it is expensive and they don't give you anything decent in return, even for the drinks. The waiters were nice and efficient, though maybe a bit understaffed. I should mention that I didn't have to pay for my meal because of the worm.

Review 2: CT has always been a favourite venue among those who enjoy the ‘lounging-in-myown-living room’ concept. Functional open spaces are divided by custom made cupboards and comfortable couches which make you feel cozy despite that fact that you are in a busy shopping centre. So it is of no surprise that the two CT locations in Plaza Indonesia and at Pacific Place are always attached to bookstores, enhancing the cozy feel even more. At dinner time, the mood changes and the vibe at CT transforms from the lounging scene to the party scene and becomes one of the trendiest place to be in central Jakarta, thanks to their loyal customers who gush over their award winning cocktails and their delicious European and Pan-Asian dishes. Using only the freshest ingredients available locally and prepared in a simple yet wholesome manner, you can understand why their dishes are so popular. Their main courses are very impressive to say the very least. We prefer to let the flavours speak for themselves. The favourite by far, highly recommended by their loyal customers is the Pesto Spaghetti with Crispy Chicken breasts. The rich and moist Pesto sauce smothers the perfectly cooked spaghetti and combined with the the crispy chicken gives this dish a tasty crunchy zest. The Tuna Pizza is a sure hit as well. We must say though our favourite dish will have to be the Pan-fired Dory Fillet with Broccoli Tarte and Cherry tomato salsa. The Dory fish was cooked perfectly, with the fresh homemade sweet cherry tomato salsa resting on the bottom of the dory fillet. For a more Asian flavour, CT provides dishes like the flavoursome Javanese oxtail fried rice, Kung-Pao chicken, Japanese inspired curry, Salmon Teriyaki and also the delicious Nasi Campur. When it comes to dessert, we recommend the Pannenkoek, the Dutch pancake. The thinner and larger version of a pancake comes with your choice of fillings such as the classic banana and chocolate sauce or for those who have a strong stomach and weak nasal senses and do not mind their customers complaining; durian with caramel. This dessert is also served with vanilla ice cream on the side. On the weekends, CT serves up their all-day Brunch. Where you can find yourself gorging on savoury eggs benedict or sweet Belgian Waffles at 10 am and pm.

REVIEW MENGENAI MONOLOG Review 1: As the front of their menu suggests, M onolog mostly serves comfort food that can be classified as either everyone’s fave or little addiction. You can expect to find crepes, pancakes, good quality coffee, all day breakfast, sandwiches, panini and as such at this venue. This place is popular with the early bird crowd or those who like to breakfast as by 7 am, it is already filled with people either having their coffee to go or sitting down and enjoying their All Day breakfast. Their popularity is also due to the strategic location of M onolog, which is located right in the basement parking lot of Plaza Senayan, sandwiched between the mall and the office building. For breakfast, their coffees and all day breakfast are the star picks. The M onolog Sunrise Breakfast consists of 2 eggs cooked whichever way you choose, beef bratwurst sausages, potato, a slice of beef ham, sautéed mushrooms, whole wheat toast and a dollop of good butter. For those who prefer a sweeter start to the day, you can order the breakfast set with pancakes and grilled banana. During lunch time, it seems that people opt for the sweet desserts, and they mainly order the Brandy Banana Nutella which comes with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream served on top of a soft stack of pancakes. The light fluffy pancakes with the caramelised banana and nutella will surely put you on a serious sugar high for the rest of the day. When dinner time rolls in, M onolog becomes more packed then ever and it is quite refreshing to see that people are still drinking iced coffee late into the night. Their iced coffee drinks have pretty girls' names such as Heidi, Lucy and Emma. It is quite delightful that you can have peanut butter, butterscotch, vanilla vodka and apple vodka in your coffee. The favourite so far has to be the the non alcoholic Butterscotch Passionfruit latte which after a long day's work in hot humid Jakarta comes as the ultimate refreshing beverage. Review 2: Senayan’s New Cafe Offers a 'M onolog' on Good Eats I have walked pass M onolog Quality Coffee Co. at Plaza Senayan many times since it opened about two months ago and it always seemed to be full of hip, happy customers. So naturally, I had to try it for myself. And I have to say, after my first visit, I understood why people like it so much — this unique cafe has a cozy feel, welcoming atmosphere and, most important, the food is great.

Located in a semi-outdoor setting at the mall’s Palm Gate entrance, the cafe spreads out onto the sidewalk, providing a relaxed atmosphere for its crowd of youngish patrons to sip their coffee as they watch passers-by. The white-hued interior, which features a stylish mix of brick, wood and industrial elements, manages to look chic without coming off as pretentious. Open from 7 a.m., M onolog is a great place to start your day with a casual breakfast and a strong cup of brew. But if you’re not an early riser, don’t worry — one of M onolog’s biggest draws is that it serves breakfast all day long. The people who designed M onolog’s menu seem to understand that there are many different ways to enjoy breakfast. Some like to kick off the day with a cup of tea, while others prefer coffee. Some eat breakfast like a king, while others are happy to settle for something light. M onolog’s breakfast fare includes staples such as pancakes, omelettes, eggs Benedict and crepes. For later in the day, there are a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, soups and interesting mains. On my first visit, I tried the vanilla custard pancakes with dark chocolate, which came with a scoop of ice cream. If you don’t like your pancakes soggy, don’t forget to ask the waiter to put the ice cream on the side. The pancakes were soft but crunchy on the edge, which was lovely, but the butter on top seemed unnecessary given the richness of the vanilla custard. The cafe’s raisin mascarpone crepes make for a splendid snack. The thin, soft, halfmoon crepes came topped with melting mascarpone, raisins and powdered sugar. At first glance, the raisin mascarpone looked a bit messy and unappealing, but it came through on the flavor front. It also came with ice cream, which, once again, felt excessive. If you are fond of meat for breakfast, try the M onolog sunny breakfast set, which includes two eggs, beef bockwurst, beef ham, garlic fried potatoes and toast. Another good choice is the M onolog omelette breakfast set. I tried this the other weekend, and opted for spinach and brie filling for my omelette. It was cooked well and the gooey melted brie was delicious. M onolog also has plenty of lunch dishes. If you like fish, I would recommend the imported orange roughy. Don’t let the name fool you, the meat was tender and beautifully presented. The fillet was placed on a bed of spinach and chili con carne, then sprinkled with nuts and edamame. The rich nuttiness of the toppings matched surprising well with the toothsome fish. Oddly enough, I found M onolog’s coffee to be only average, as if they had put all of their attention into their food. I tried a cappuccino, which was weak and slightly bitter. It was nice enough, but nothing great.

Tea drinkers get some love, too. Hot teas include such standards as English breakfast, Earl Grey, chamomile, peppermint and green tea. If you’re in the mood for something cold and fruity, definitely try the lychee or peach ice tea. One beverage I can wholeheartedly recommend is the frozen orange stracciatella, especially when the day is hot but you want to go outside and chill. It is a blended ice chocolate with chocolate chips and thinly sliced orange skin. For this alone, I would come back to M onolog. Kesimpulan: •

REVIEW MENGENAI DE LUCA Review 1: Located in one of the funkiest spaces at Plaza Senayan, De Luca has renovated over a furniture store located in the parking lot into a strip of a beautiful cafe. The newly decorated area, properly ventilated of course, is truly a brilliant idea. De Luca's open area, wooden panelling and furniture makes this place quite enjoyable for you to have a business meeting, or catch up with friends and dish out on the latest gossip or even catch up on work. This place is always busy and people come to De Luca not only because of the place but they all come here to eat obviously. The food at De Luca is pretty straight forward as they serve good traditional Italian food. They have designed their menu so that you can enjoy the best of Italian dishes from start to finish. What we find very impressive in their menu is their Primi Piatti section where you get over 5 different types of pasta in 3 categories of Creamy, Tomato and Aglio Olio sauce. It does not matter if your dish is vegetarian, wood-smoked seafood or even beef sausages, you still get your choices. Another impressive option is the Risotto, and they serve 3 different types with mushroom, Pomodoro sauce or cheese. We recommend the the creamy mushroom Risotto which comes perfectly cooked with creamy broth, cheese and shaving of parmesan. For those of you who prefer to share your meal, we recommend their very generous serving of Pizzas. The usual suspects os M arinara, M elanzae, M argherita and Frutti di M are are available. Of these choices, we highly recommend the Bresaola Pizza with Pomodoro sauce, grilled mozzarella and finally pieces of bresaola which is their dried and aged salted beef. Overall we can conclude that their menu has been created with some serious thought put into it, as the presentation and most importantly the quality of their food is a topper with reasonable prices. Review 2: Kemarin malam (21/08/2011) seru sekali karena saya bertemu dengan teman-teman lama, tempatnya pun sangat asyik. Yup, semalam kami berkumpul di De Luca - Plaza Senayan. De Luca adalah sebuat restoran baru di Plaza Senayan, mungkin baru beroperasi sekitar 3 atau 4 bulan yang lalu. Tempatnya berseberangan persis dengan M onolog Coffee. Tempatnya asik banget lho untuk kumpul bersama teman dan keluarga, mau cuma ngebir doang atau sambil makan malam juga bisa. Tempatnya santai, homy banget. Tapi kalau malam minggu disini ramai sekali. Untung saja semalam tidak terlalu ramai, jadi

masih bisa ngobrol santai tanpa harus bersaing dengan meja sebelah hehe. Yang saya suka disini juga keramahan dari para pelayannya, cepat tanggap. Ok, kembali lagi ke menu-menu yang ditawarkan oleh De Luca. Nampaknya resto satu ini mengangkat makanan ala M editerani, saya sih menebak dari nama-nama menunya. Teman-teman saya pun tampak serius membaca menu makanannya haha. Kalau saya memilih Roasted Rosemary Chicken dan Bresaola Pizza. Sedangkan teman-teman saya ada yang pesan Grilled Salmon Genovese Pesto, Classic Aglio Olio, dan Spaghetti Salmon. Sebagai pembuka, De Luca menyuguhkan sekeranjang kecil Roti (Welcome Bread), isinya beraneka macam roti yang hangat. Lumayan untuk camilan sambil menunggu pesanan kami datang. Tidak lama kemudian Bresaola Pizza kami datang, pizza tipis yang berisikan keju mozzarela, pomodoro (tomat), keju parmesan, dan juga Bresaola (daging sapi yang diiris sangat tipis dan agak kering, hampir mirip dengan beef bacon tapi ini lebih tipis lagi). Pizza nya pasti terasa asin keju, karena memang banyak mengandung keju mozzarela dan parmesan. Cheesy banget tapi ada rasa tomato sauce yang segar plus lezatnya daging sapi tipis si bresaola tadi. Enak lho,cobain deh temanteman. Kemudian menu-menu lain pun mulai berdatangan. Sayangnya saya tidak sempat mencicipi Aglio Olio milik teman saya, tidak tega rasanya mau mencicipi karena dia nampak lahap dengan aglio-olio nya haha. Tapi kalau yang Spaghetti Salmon dengan creamy saucenya enak, sauce nya creamy banget. Salmonnya pun tidak pelit, lumayan banyak. Grilled Salmon nya juga layak untuk di coba, Grilled Salmon Genovese Pesto. Salmon berukuran sedang yang disajikan dengan mashed potato, sayuran, dan ada “genovese pesto”-nya. Genovese Pesto terbuat dari daun basil (kemangi) dan bumbu lainnya yang ditumbuk sampai halus, kemudian biasanya dicampur dengan olive oil. Daging ikan salmon yang nampak kemerah-merahan terasa enak sekali, apalagi kali ini mencoba sensasi baru dengan genovese pesto, sebuah rasa yang unik. Cobain deh. Nah ini dia menu yang saya pesan "Roasted Rosemary Chicken" yang disajikan dengan mashed potato dan juga sayuran. Seporsi berisi dua buah daging fillet ayam yang di panggang, aromanya khas banget....berasal dari si daun rosemary itu. Saya sih hanya merasakan rasa asin yang pas dan juga pepper (black pepper), tapi aromanya yang membuat ini jadi istimewa. M enggugah selera banget. O iya dibawahnya juga ada tomato pasta-nya yang menambahkan rasa segar untuk daging ayamnya. Saya sih suka dengan Roasted Chicken Rosemary ini, kalau anda penasaran cobain saja, enak koq. Kalau minumnya, kemarin saya mencoba Pashion Fruit, rasanya manis segar seperti ada aroma lecinya juga. I like it. Sekian dulu ya review saya mengenai De Luca, kesimpulannya sih saya suka banget dengan ambience-nya, pelayanannya ramah, dan makanannya cukup enak menurut saya. REVIEW MENGENAI MARCHE RESTAURANT SENAYAN Review 1: M asih ingat film anak-anak, “Heidi” yang pernah diputar di TVRI pertengahan tahun 80-an? Buat anda yang berumur di atas 35 tahun mungkin masih mengingatnya. Nah, di Jakarta ada sebuah restoran yang mengambil tema film Heidi tersebut. Namanya Marche Restaurants Jakarta, berlokasi di Plaza Senayan, Jakarta. M au tahu apa aja yang menarik di sana? Atau mungkin ingin langsung datang dan mencobanya, eits tunggu dulu, simak dulu ceritanya… Salah satu ciri khas restoran ini adalah patung sapi berwarna hijau yang seolah-olah menyambut kedatangan tamu-tamu di sana. Jangan kaget ya, kalo begitu kamu datang, seorang petugas restoran akan menyapa dan memberikan sebuah ‘paspor’, dimana setiap anda memesan makanan di gerai-gerai, petugas akan menstempel paspor tadi. M asuk ke dalam restoran, pasti kamu akan terkagum-kagum dengan interiornya, yang didominasi oleh kayu-kayu yang kelihatannya sudah berumur tua. Dan ternyata memang benar, kayu-kayu tersebut khusus didatangkan dari Bernese Oberland, Swiss. Di dalam restoran itu sendiri terdapat beberapa pondok yang masing-masing diberi nama “Heidi”, sebuah pondok kayu yang didesain untuk area bermain anak, lalu pondok kakek “Alpohi” yang homey, dan pondok si kambing “Barli”. Selain itu restoran ini juga dipenuhi dengan ornamen dekoratif berupa pajangan antik hingga perabotan dapur yang unik. Dijamin, anda pasti betah berlama-lama di sini. The most impressive part of their 1.132 meters square setting will have to be their open kitchen system wherein customers can see how their food is grilled, tossed, fried, baked and prepared. Simply exhilirating! At M arche there are several European foods to choose from, mind you there are no menus here, so if you want to know what they are serving you need to walk around and try to figure out what to choose from an array of choices on display such as pastas, pizza, rotisserie, fresh grilled seafood and of course their stunning dessert section. The attractive display of fresh lemons, potatoes and vegetables and also fresh seafood such as red snapper, sea bass, butter fish, salmon and king prawns are all very enticing. But the star dish at M arche that can surely be enjoyed by anyone on any day of the week, will have to be the Rosti. A dish mainly containing thinly sliced potatoes and enjoyed for breakfast in Switzerland is just the perfect dish. The potatoes are pan fried carefully like an omelette/pancake and is slightly crunchy on the outside and almost mushy on the inside makes the Rosti the ultimate comfort food. If you want something carb free to start your meal, we suggest you take a visit to their vegetable/salad stand. Have your vegetables stir fried in front of you or have them fresh, with your choice of vegetables and then hand them over to the friendly standby chef who will then toss it over for you with your choice of dressing whether it be Italian, creamy or Caesar. The prefect freshly made salad! Also, do not forget to stop by their Pasta stand, to create the ultimate yummy pasta dish of your own. For you will get to choose among their homemade wheat noodles in all shapes and forms and have them cooked in your favourite sauce whether it be the spicy aglio olia, or the rich and creamy carbonara or the fresh marinara sauce. Their Rotisserie of homemade sausages, chicken roast, chicken wings and of course their gorgeous mashed potatoes seem to be the favourites here among their customers and is a definite must try. With their pleasant settings and delicious array of foods and desserts it will come as no surprise that M arche has over 80 restaurants and 13 franchised operations all over the world. It simply is the best thing to come out of Switzerland since, Emmental Cheese and the Swiss Army Knife. Review 3: “a One Stop Eating Spot Restaurant” Entering M arché Restaurant will lead you into a Switzerland ambiance with Waterfall, and Cable Car. The Swiss lady greeted me and my friends and give me M arché guest card, then we could browse for our meal inside. Try the Authentic Swiss Roesti, it's a pan fried potato and i tried the original with sour cream and onion - the onion is surprisingly so fresh!! i usually didn't eat onion, but when my friend ask me to try one, then I tried and it was so fresh, beside that the Caesar Salad was really good. And in front of M arché Gate, a kid's activity is being held , the face painting written in the sign age. I personally think, that kids will love this activity, it's fun and enhance their imagination also creativity, although it's the staff that make the painting but participant could request picture to be painted. :) . Then, I saw a cable car near the waterfall, it's so sad that I couldn't eat there, because there was 6 of us -_-" . I think the cable car would be very romantic if you eat there with your spouse :) . And for the beverage i would recommend M arché Homemade Drinks it was so refreshing, I tried Sweet Apple Tea, and my friend also said that the Aglio Olio was great, he had Organic Tea for the drinks. Overall, I would recommend M arché as one of the best Restaurant, from the ambiance, the food, drinks, and the service. The service was so friendly and they are polite. I also like the lighting at M arché Plaza Senayan, it is not so bright, that I really enjoy the ambiance. I will surely come back to M arché. Have a great day M arché!! “Caveat Emptor --- Buyer Beware” Twice in recent times I have eaten at M arche and have been disappointed --- once with the food and another time with the bill. The blackboard outside promoted a lunch package for Rps 55,000 which seemed good value. I chose the pasta with a cream and mushroom sauce but discovered that the pasta was pre-cooked which gave the texture a cardboard feel. Pasta can't be pre-cooked, allowed to cool and reheated. The second time, I had a meat dish with a serving of

vegetables but when receiving the vegetables, the young guy serving asked me if I would like some more vegetables and a potato --- sounded generous and I enthusiastically agreed. Later, when approaching the cashier the bill had hiked from Rps 55,000 to Rps 114,000 ---- the extra charge for a ladle of extra vegetables and a lone potato! The staff are basically teenagers and dont seem to be supervised by a senior staff member. Each section in M arche seems to compete for business and perhaps have a target to achieve --- obviously, I was a target. Review 5: M arché Senayan restaurant is a venue that should not be taken seriously. It is a mix between a restaurant, a supermarket and Disneyland. The concept is to re-create an open-air market in Switzerland, where you can buy your food at a specific stall, and then eat it.. It is not a place to have a date or a business lunch, but if you have kids, they will love it. The designers did a really good job and they paid great attention to details. It's quite expensive (150k to 200k for a meal) and the food is average but worth knowing!

REVIEW MENGENAI RUSTIQUE GRILL AND WI NE Review 1: Tender Care at Jakarta's Rustique Grill I try to avoid superlatives in reviews, but at Rustique Grill and Wine I ate what was unquestionably the best steak I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve dined at some of America’s (and Australasia’s) finest (and most expensive) steakhouses. The secret — executive chef Fany Hermawan dry-ages his own beef, hanging it in a temperature- and climatecontrolled storeroom for from 18 to 40 days, depending on the particular cut. The result — beef so tender that both myself and my dining companion lay down our cutlery after our first bites, sat back and breathed “Wow!” Such a treat on its own would bring me back regularly, but Rustique does not rest on its signature dish alone. The restaurant, which celebrated its second anniversary on Aug. 1, also offers innovative seafood dishes, inventive takes on classic dishes and truly sinful desserts. Chef Fany’s family moved to Australia while he was still in school, and before returning to his native Indonesia he trained and worked at some of that country’s most acclaimed restaurants. The Australian influence can be seen in the fresh, innovative combinations on his menu. Joining him in the kitchen recently is Japanese chef de cuisine Shigetoshi “Gio” Uramoto who, after 10 years in San Francisco restaurants, brings his own style of Japanese-American-European fusion. A quieter but just as important presence in Rustique is co-owner Christoph Darjanto, who has taken the lessons learned from a family of restaurateurs and created a space that is comfortable and welcoming while still impressively elegant. My friend Lisa and I had already decided we would sample Rustique’s steak as a main course and wanted to share a seafood dish to begin, but had difficulty selecting from the interesting choices. We finally settled on a seafood salad, featuring squid, prawns, scallops and fish in a spicy dressing atop a bed of warm sauteed carrot, zucchini and yellow pepper. The julienned vegetables complemented the seafood well and we quickly cleaned the plate. On the meat menu, either rib-eye or sirloin steak is available in various weights, or non dry-aged tenderloin or tenderloin wagyu beef. There is also a grilled meat sampler, offering Australian rib-eye and US tenderloin alongside chicken in a coconut sauce, or diners can select from prime rib, chicken breast or lamb rack. We had come for the steak, however, so ordered a dry-aged rib-eye, medium-rare. From a choice of eight sauces and nine side dishes (including potatoes served six ways), we selected a red wine jus, a mushroom jus, sauteed spinach and sauteed mushrooms.

We completed our meal with an orange custard pudding with hot orange sauce and a dark valrhona chocolate fondant with hazelnut praline ice cream. The chocolate dessert contained a hot sauce offset perfectly by the ice cream and I was tempted to lick the plate clean. Rustique has a warm, softly lit decor, with an open kitchen, brick walls and huge black mirrors opening out the space. The staff are attentive without being annoying, a balancing act that is not always easy to achieve. Add in an extensive wine list compiled by the head bartender, who recently placed fourth in an international sommelier competition, and there was nothing we could fault the restaurant on. Review 2: Located in one of the 'poshest' malls in Jakarta, Rustique for 3 years straight, has managed to set the bar on providing the best steaks and dishes in town. This is also largely due to the fact that they are the first restaurant to serve the finest dry-aged steaks in Indonesia. Their steaks range from 180 grams up to a mammoth size of 700 grams, and they have, what you could say closest to the most complete variety of different types of steak, all of which come from Australia and the USA but sometimes they also experiment with special imported beef which are available in their special menu. With a romantic and low light ambiance, you can say that Rustique's settings and food presentation well deserves the title of 'Fine and Luxurious Dining. Their exquisite choices of dishes from seafood, appetizers, desserts and of course the presentation of their dishes is also the winning recipe on why Rustique manages to keep their customers always coming back for more and attracting new customers to sample the Rustique experience. Take for example, their perfectly roasted Lamb rack in M oroccon spices, whole roasted soft garlic and the mint yoghurt, an exquisite combination because while the lamb rack is cooked perfectly on its own, the addition of the mint yoghurt and the sweet chutneylike sauce, makes this dish just tantalising. For a bit of an Asian inspired main course, the blue cod in ginger and shoyu marinade rested on tobiko rice makes a good choice. To share, Rustique do an amazing seafood paella with saffron rice which is a gorgeous dish as well. With a beautiful ambiance, amazing selection of appetizers and a good wine list, Rustique is also a perfect place to go for a pre-dinner session of wine and might we suggest that their famous escargot baked in garlic and herb butter, is the perfect accompaniment. Review 3: Rustique Grill and Wine: New venue with diverse flavor and design It's not easy to satisfy the fastidious palate of Jakarta's upmarket food enthusiasts. Used to a huge range of different upscale restaurants, Jakartans have developed a keen sense for high-quality food. Thus, to attract customers into a new restaurant and stand the competition, it takes more than just fancy interior design and fine dishes. That's why new Rustique Grill and Wine has come up with a sophisticated concept. As the specialit de maison, Rustique chef Fany Hermawan offers his customers Australian and Brazilian imported beef, ""dry aged"" for 21 to 28 days, according to a traditional recipe in a process known as hanging. ""The beef becomes very tender and juicy, because the rigidity of the cell structures in the meat sags during the hanging,"" Fany said. Located on the fourth floor of Plaza Senayan next to the escalators leading to the recently reopened cinema, the fare at Rustique consists of much more than just beef. Embracing a diverse culinary palette of about 40 Asian and European dishes, the menu accommodates a wide variety of tastes. Starting with a generously portioned buffalo mozzarella caprese salad sparsely topped with balsamic vinaigrette and cracked black pepper for Rp 36,000, one could move on to the dangerously tender char-sui lamb shank with lime-infused jasmine rice and sambal bok choy for Rp 106,000. The menu also contains risotto and a range of tapas for starters. But the main attraction, as Fany would have you to believe, is the tenderized steak. Starting from Rp 168,000 and running up to Rp 298,000, customers can also have their choice of potato side dish, vegetables and homemade dipping sauce. Besides a range of European desserts, there are more than 20 flavors of homemade ice cream, some of which are made from exotic fruit like mangosteen and kiwi. Accompanying the delectable selection of food is a sumptuous restaurant atmosphere, said to be inspired by European dining culture. This romantic Italian setting with a seating capacity capable of accommodating up to a 110 souls, has managed to attract scores of people looking for fine dining and a proper Italian ‘fix’. It is even an ideal place if you are not looking to have a meal but rather a nice bottle of wine together with their great selection of Italian cheese. Well Italians have been praised for generations as true culinary masters and without further a due, we proceeded to their menu. To start off, we were recommended the Zuppa di Cozze e Vongole alla Venezian, a mild tomato based soup, which we absolutely savored to the last drop. The 'Galleto Alla Griglia Con Patate e Salsa al Pomodoro piccante' can be found on their specials menu an in plain terms, it is essentially barbecue spring chicken served with mashed potatoes and spicy tomato sauce. This place is usually a favorite destination for business meetings, small gatherings and for people who need to catch up with some work. REVIEW MENGENAI KAFE VICTORIA Review 1: Located in the corner of the mall, the design of the cafe tries to replicate that of a bistro in Paris, I think they quite successfully recreated that ambiance and get us attracted to visit.. Like its name, the place has a Victorian style.. The deco style included a touch of Victorian wallpaper and sofa, is an atmosphere enhancer.. Decorated with some beautiful chandeliers make this place quite fancy and a bit quite romantic for a dinner.. About the food here is nothing different like others cafe, international dish is on menu.. We opted pasta for the dinner.. I loved tuna so I ordered Tuna Chili Spaghetti (51.5K), just an ordinary aglio olio spaghetti stirred with tuna chunks and cut chili padi served with two pieces garlic breads.. Tasted OK not too oily, but the pasta was a bit soggy for me.. And please be careful with the chili hehe.. And E was craved something creamy, he had Fettucinne Alfredo (49.5K).. I'm sorry for the awful picture, the light kinda ruined it.. It's a fettuccine tossed with parmesan cheese, smoked beef, and butter, it also came with garlic breads.. Classic but it's delicate, the cheese coated in every strand pasta, E liked it.. Well, if you're looking for nice place to relax while shopping in Plaza Senayan, you should probably think of checking out this place.. Kafe Victoria offers a decent foods with a comfy ambiance to enjoy..

Review 2: Kafe Victoria adalah sebuah kafe di pojokan Plaza Senayan. Udah lama banget seh gw ga mampir ke tempat ini padahal dulu sebelum ada yang namanya Starbucks, auntie Foing hobi banget ngajak kesini buat ngopi-ngopi. Tempatnya gw ga ngerti deh gaya apa namanya, gaya victoria kale ya... Decornya selalu agak remang2 gelap gitu dengan dominasi warna hitam. Setelah pindah ke tempat yang baru, jadi makin cozy menurut gw. Ada areal open air yang menghadap jalan raya en ada table juga yang di tenga jalan gitu. The place is pretty cool... Gw sendiri juga ga tau kenapa, tapi banyak banget bule bule yang hobi ksini. The food: 1. Double Blast (Rp. 36.000) Ini adalah my fave drink before the era of Starbucks. Seinget gw, harganya ga naek naek dari dulu, so can you imagine a 36k drink 10 years ago? Tapi tetepppp, karena gratisan gw seh hajarrrr :p Bentuknya seperti ice blended coffee drink gitu, tapi rasanya dominan mocha dan kacang. Jadi kalo diminum rasanya tuh kental en manis. Kaya milkshake (karena pake ice cream) trus kasar (karena ada kacang yg ikuta diblender) dan mocha-mocha gimana gitu. YUMM Y!!!! 2. Teriyaki Set Guede abis!!!! Sepiring besar yang berisi 3 macam teriyaki : ayam, kakap en sapi. Dengan 3 macam salad pula... disajikan dengan semangkuk nasi. Ini seh porsinya jumbo.... Hmm rasanya seh biasa aja, really. Well of course it tastes better than Hoka Hoka Bento tapi kalo dicompare sama jap food resto yang lumayan, kalah enak lah. Yang gw suka, semua dagingnya itu charred (rada2 ada rasa gosong nya gitu) jadi lebi berasa aja, ga kaya makan tumisan daging... 3. Nikomi Udon Nikomi udon adalah menu favorit auntie Foing yang ampe saat ini baru gw temukan disini. Intinya seh udon veggie, dengan topping tahu, telur en sayuran. Sekali lagi, rasa nya seh enak cuma ga stand out aja. 4. Tempura Udon Sama kaya nikomi udon cuma bedanya ini dikasi ebi tempura en onion tempura masing masing sebiji. Oya... Udon di tempat ini, itu enak. Udonnya lho ya... Konsistensi nya pas banget. Kenyel-kenyel gimanaaa gitu hehe. Selaen menu japanese, mereka juga menyediakan menu western. Seperti menu japanese nya, menu westernya juga rata2 enak tapi engga ENAK gitu. Ampe sekarang gw juga kaga ngerti kenapa tempat ini bisa rame... Secara makanannya overpriced en rasanya biasa saja.. Tapi pada faktanya, lumayan rame!!! Well.. Gw seh kalo dibayarin gapapa tapi kalo bayar sendiri, engga deh.. hehe Rating: 7/10

Review 3: Kafe Victoria, Plaza Senayan Kafe Victoria in Plaza Senayan is almost always packed with people all the time. Yet finding some reviews and information about it on the net is not an easy task. Even those that we found were rather discouraging. Surprisingly, the food were very delicious. We ordered Goulash Soup (23k IDR), Lemon Butter Gindara (53.5k IDR, pictured above), Chicken BBQ (53.3k IDR), Cafe M ocha and a glass of Iced Lemon Tea. The Goulash was amazing, red with tomato and bell peepers. My Lemon Butter Gindara was also tasty (got to be the butter hehe), I would surely recommend it to anyone. It also came with a small plate of boiled potato. Here is the Chicken BBQ which Wortel ate. Also very very delicious. The chicken came with BBQ sauce and a small plate of fries. Review 4: Tampil sebagai sebuah cafe yang begitu elegan, sesuai dengan namanya Kafé Victoria hadir dalam interior cantik bergaya Victorian. Suasana yang temaram dilengkapi sofa Victorian serta kaca-kaca hias yang berukuran besar kian menambah keanggunan ruangan.Terdiri atas ruang smoking dan non smoking, serta bagian teras yang disediakan bagi Anda yang merasa lebih nyaman bila berada di ruang terbuka. Tak hanya menu Eropa, kini Anda juga bisa menikmati menu fusion yang tak kalah nikmat. Sebut saja Juju Steak atau Chicken teriyaki yang sudah banyak diminati oleh pengunjung setia kafe ini.
