Producten in glasvezelversterkt polyester worden vervaardigd volgens het pultrusie-procédé. Dit procédé gebruikt een combinatie van glasvezels en glasmatten, geïmpregneerd met polyesterhars, die, samen met bijkomende beschermingsvliezen door een matrijs getrokken worden om zo een uiterst stevig profiel te vormen.

De stevigste constructie met de hoogste kwaliteit
De profielen zijn voorzien van een extra oppervlaktevlies, dat een bijkomende bescherming biedt tegen weersinvloeden en bestand is tegen UV-straling. Producten van lagere kwaliteit maken enkel gebruik van glasvezelbundels, wat kan leiden tot verzwakking, of ze gebruiken korte glasvezeldraden met het persgietprocédé, i.p.v. het pultrusieprocédé. Meestal ontbreekt ook het extra beschermende oppervlaktevlies, waardoor bij erosie of verwering glasvezels naar het oppervlak komen.

FIBARACK TM en FIBASTRUT TM systemen zijn vervaardigd uit isophtaal polyesterhars. Dit materiaal combineert een uitstekende corrosieweerstand met een goede vuurbestendigheid.
ONDERHOUD Als bescherming tegen verwering zijn UVstabilisatoren toegevoegd en is het oppervlak voorzien van een oppervlaktevlies. Daardoor wordt een lange onderhoudsvrije levensduur gegarandeerd. Voor plaatsen waar volgende eisen gesteld worden : ● goede vuurbestendigheid ● geen halogenen ● beperkte rookvorming is op aanvraag Modarhars Class 1 verkrijgbaar. Dit hars voldoet zelfs aan de strenge eisen gesteld door de London Underground Authority voor gebruik in openbare ruimten. Beide materialen kunnen eveneens geleverd worden in antistatische uitvoering.
STERKTE C O R R O S I E B E S T E N D I G H E I D
Het volledige gamma is uitstekend geschikt voor gebruik in corrosieve omgevingen en in het bijzonder voor gebruik in een omgeving met een hoog zoutgehalte, zoals in zeehavens (hier is RVS en zelfs RVS 316L een nadeel). De kosten van onderhoud en eventuele vervanging van een conventioneel systeem, aangetast door corrosie, overtreft gemakkelijk de aankoopprijs van een glasvezelversterkt polyestersysteem. Dit geldt zeker wanneer men het bekijkt over een aantal jaren en men rekening houdt met het verwijderen en herplaatsen van de kabels.
Zaag
In verhouding tot zijn gewicht bezit glasvezelversterkt polyester een grotere treksterkte dan gelijkwaardige metalen producten en vervormt minder onder zware belastingen.
WARMTEGELEIDING Door de lage warmtegeleiding van glasvezelversterkt polyester blijven de gevolgen van brand plaatselijk. Glasvezelversterkt polyester blijft ongeschonden in situaties waar vele andere materialen verweren. Glasvezelversterkt polyester kan gebruikt worden in een groot temperatuursbereik (van –40˚C tot +120˚C). Verder werden er speciale harsen ontwikkeld met verhoogde vuurbestendigheid gedurende een langere tijd.
ZELFDOVEND Vlamvertragende uitvoeringen ( halogeenvrij, met lage rookemissie) zijn op aanvraag verkrijgbaar.

Glasvezelversterkt polyester kan eenvoudig verzaagd worden en er kunnen op eenvoudige wijze gaten in geboord worden, zonder dat men gebruik moet maken van dure machines. In tegenstelling tot metalen onderdelen moeten de glasvezelversterkte polyesterproducten niet ontbraamd worden en de zaagsneden en de boorgaten moeten niet afgewerkt worden met anti-corrosielak. Zo spaart u vooral op installatietijd. Door te kiezen voor onze gepultrudeerde, glasvezelversterkte producten bent u zeker van een jarenlange probleemvrije installatie.
Wanneer u onze gepultrudeerde, glasvezelversterkte polyesterproducten gebruikt, kunt u er zeker van zijn dat u de meest optimale oplossing op lange termijn tegen corrosie en andere omgevingsfactoren gekozen hebt.

As well as being the perfect accompaniment to other MITA industrial support products, this range of Channel Support Systems is ideal for mounting other industrial service items such as pipework and ducting. Fibastrut TM has high rigidity coupled with an excellent load bearing to weight ratio and of course is totally resistant to a wide range of corrosive agents. The Support Channel often forms the very backbone for an installation to which everything else is mounted. GS3 Fibastrut channel can be cut into pieces which are 25mm longer on each side than the tray or ladder itself (i.e. for a 300mm tray, the piece of strut will be 350mm wide). A hole will be drilled in the base of this strut at each end at approximately 15mm centres (from the end). A spring channel nut with the appropriate hole (M10 recommended) will be placed directly above each hole and threaded rod of this diameter then screwed through the holes and secured with appropriate nuts and extra large washers below the strut. Maximum UDL per support 418kg Note: GS1 strut is not recommended to support GRP tray or ladder.

Karakteristieken Weerstand tegen chemische producten
Mechanische eigenschappen: Isopthaal thermohardend polyesterhars met unidirectionele ‘E’ glasvezels, gesandwicht tussen twee lagen 450 g/m2 ‘E’ glasmatten. Alle oppervlakken zijn bedekt met een oppervlaktevlies voor chemische en UV bescherming.
Vlamvertragend glasvezelversterkt polyester : Het halogeenvrij hars of de vlamvertragende additieven zorgen ervoor dat de materialen voldoen aan de vlamverspreidingstesten volgens BS 476: Deel 7; 1987; Class 1. Class 1 glasvezelversterkt polyester bevat geen chloor of broom. Er komen geen toxische halogenen vrij bij hoge temperaturen of bij brand. Vlamvertragend, halogeenvrij. Ideaal voor gebruik in de voedsel- en petrochemische industrie. Gemakkelijk te behandelen en te verzagen. Gaten kunnen snel en eenvoudig ter plaatse geboord worden.

Thermische eigenschappen :
Standaard materialen zijn conform de vlamverspreidingstest volgens BS 476: deel 7: klasse 2. Glasvezelversterkt polyester neemt in sterkte toe bij temperaturen onder -140˚C.
Voor toepassingen waar antistatische eigenschappen belangrijk zijn, is een aangepaste versie beschikbaar. Details zijn op aanvraag verkrijgbaar.
