Why Urban Mobility Matters (I) The improvement and sustainability of urban transport systems is a prerequisite for the
quality of life, wellbeing and safety of citizens. 60 to 80% of greenhouse gas emissions stem from urban areas and city regions, traffic contributing considerably.
Cars, which account for 66% of road emissions, are at the heart of the problem. 08/11/2013

Expected Impacts
» Promotion of Electromobility Solutions at all Levels ͟ Removal of regional barriers through knowledge exchange ͟ Provision of training tools and an «Electromobility Inventory»
» Economic Development & Competitiveness
»
͟ New business models (e.g. car-on-demand) and passenger information will trigger new value-creation-chains in ICTs, automotive and energy sector. ͟ Value creation for new electric vehicles by 2020-2025 is projected on minimum 600,0000 accounting for approx. 18 bn Euro ͟ Standardisation through cross-border field tests will create added value RTD via new patents and (e.g., charging facilities, More Projects &applications Increasing RTD Investments battery leasing models etc.) ͟ Definition of at least 3 new RTD projects during the project term ͟ ELMOS capitalisation on public and private investment could amount to 100 million Euro in the first years after the project for new model projects to be implemented, new products and services development.
