Highlight whatever is new to you. I want to choose some special place for this Sunday. I am lucky because I have found an advertisement for a new restaurant at a farm close to the city. So I want to take my parents there for dinner. I have planned everything. I think we will arrive there tomorrow at 11 o’clock. I will park on the street next to the farm because their garage is closed this spring. We won’t stay too long because then I want to go to the city park. I hope that the weather will be nice and warm with a clear blue sky so we can take some photos. Then we will go to our favourite café, which is near the park, to have some coffee and biscuits.
I hope that everything will be all right and my parents will enjoy the day.

Complete these questions. Nezůstaneme příliš dlouho, protože poté chci jít do městského parku. ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ Doufám, že počasí bude pěkné a teplé s jasnou modrou oblohou, abychom mohli pořídit nějaké fotky. Rules RULE 20: Neither people nor objects can own their features. They ARE their features. For this reason we say that something is red.
Ani lidé, ani věci, nemohou své vlastnosti vlastnit. Oni JSOU jejich vlastnostmi.
Z tohoto důvodu říkám že něco má červenou barvu > Je to čevené: It is red. Má to červenou barvu / Je to červené. Mám hlad. / Jsem hladová(/ý). Mám štěstí. Jsem šťastná(/ý)
It is red. I am hungry. I am lucky. I am happy.
RULE 21: Present Perfect is used when something happened in the past, but we do not care when exactly, but we care that it is relevant at the present time. It always need Have/Has and the 3rd form of the verb, for regular verbs it is again the suffix -ed. It is used more often than the Past tense.
Tento čas vždy potřebuje HAVE/ HAS a třetí tvar slovesa, pro pravidelná slovesa potřebujeme koncovku -ed.
I have found an advertisement.
I have planned everything.
RULE 22: Be careful. We say that something is close to, or near something. ‘Near’ nemá ‘to’. A farm close to the city. A café close to the park.
Farma blízko města. Kavárna nedaleko parku.
RULE 23: Meals, such as breakfast, lunch and dinner, do not take indefinite articles ‘a/an’. Jídla, třeba jako snídaně, oběd a večeře, nepřibírají neurčitý člen a/an.

RULE 24: Future can be expressed with the help of the word WILL. Verbs which go after this are always in infinitive. What is typical for will is, that it is quite speculative. We mostly use it to predict the future. The negative is WILL + NOT = WON’T
Budoucnost se vyjadřuje pomocí slova WILL. Většinou jej pooužíváme k předvídání (daleko do) budoucnosti. Zápor je WILL + NOT = WON’T. I think we will arrive tomorrow. I hope that the weather will be nice.
Myslím si, že dorazíme zítra. Doufám, že počasí bude pěkné.
RULE 25: We use the preposition ‘at’ when we talk about exact time. Používáme předložku ‘at’, když hovoříme o přesném čase. What is the time? Kolik je hodin? What time will they arrive? > At 11 o’clock. V kolik hodin dorazí? > V 11 hodin.
RULE 26: For public places and services we always use the definite article ‘the’ because it is assumed that both the speaker and the listener know which place and service exactly we have in mind. See, in the old times, there used to be everything only once - one baker, one dentist, one post office etc, so people always knew which one you are talking about. This habit, hence the article, stayed.
Poté chci jít do městského parku.
Then I want to go to the city park.

RULE 27: The preposition ‘on’ is used for surfaces. So there is a difference if we find something ‘on the street’, or ‘at the street’. The first is physically lying on the street, the second is something located in the general area (see examples).
Předložka ‘on’ se používá pro plochy. Takže je rozdíl, jestli najdeme něco ‘on the street’, nebo ‘at the street’. I have found 10 pounds on the street! I have found a great new café at a street close to my work.
Našel jsem na ulici deset liber.
Našel jsem skvělou novou kavárnu v ulici blízko mé práce. To add, because we understand that vehicles of public transport are surfaces on which we can walk, we say ‘get on a bus’, because ‘we are on the bus’. Well, the opposite of ‘on’ is ‘off’, so then we ‘get off the bus’.
po kterých se dá chodit, takže říkáme ‘get on a bus’ (nastoupit, doslova: dostat se na), protože my jsme ‘on the bus’ (v autobuse, doslova: na autobuse).
No, a protikladem slova ‘on’ je ‘off’, tudíž vystoupit se řekne ‘get off the bus’.

RULE 28: The word ‘open’ means ‘open for business’, on the other hand, the word ‘opened’ means physically opened. The opposite to both is ‘closed’. And why not ‘close’? Because close means near.
Protože ‘close’ znamená blízko (jako ‘near’) The café is open until midnight. The café door is opened, can you close is please?
The restaurant is closed on Sundays. Ta restaurace je o nedělích zavřená. The door close to the table is closed. Ty dveře blízko stolu jsou zavřené.
RULE 29: If the letter ‘r’ is after a pronounced vowel, we do not pronounce this ‘r’. Read. Čtěte. for advertisement farm there park weather
