The graph illustrates total numbers of stories mentioning ISSS in the media and in ČTK news in March and April of 2000 to 2002.

The interest of the media in the conference held by ISSS has been growing in the three monitored years. The highest amount of stories in one day was published on March 26 of 2002 (13 texts). Among nationwide dailies, Mladá fronta DNES and Hospodářské noviny wrote about ISSS the most. Jan Wagner of the server svetnamodro.cz was the most frequently writing author. In 2000, the share of nationwide periodicals hiked to the detriment of local media in the press category. Karel Březina was the most frequently mentioned personality. The Zlatý erb (Golden Blazon) award evoked the biggest media reaction (97 articles in the whole monitored period). The firm TRIADA has appeared in 21 stories in relation to ISSS since 2000.

The bar chart involves media, which were devoted to ISSS the most in the whole monitored period. The number of articles issued in the particular media in individual years is specified for each medium. The pie chart demonstrates the percentage representation of the types of the media, which were concerned with ISSS in the total monitored period as a whole. Mladá fronta DNES released the highest quantity of articles related to ISSS but most of them were published in local supplements of the daily. The number of local supplements of MF DNES has gradually increased between 2000 and 2002. The growth in the number of stories is obvious especially in 2002. The total amount of articles published in the nationwide part of MF DNES was smaller than the number of articles published in the nationwide Hospodářské noviny.

The big graph brings overview of authors, who wrote the most about ISSS. The small graph lists authors of ČTK news. Both graphs concern the whole monitored period.

Articles of Jan Wagner commented on the events at the conference, quality of Internet products presented at the meeting and plans of the government regarding the development of Internet use voiced by its representatives. All his stories were published in 2001 and they were often critical. The author writing under the abbreviation „soc“ for Mladá fronta DNES daily brought reports, which were mostly of the news nature. This author was devoted to ISSS in 2000 and in 2002. Jaroslav Winter of the BMI association published his stories in the Computerworld magazine (2x), Marketing magazine (1x) and Moderní obec (1x). All four texts were released in 2002.

The graph shows the numbers of articles in which personalities connected with ISSS were mentioned. At the same time, the year in which the stories were published is specified. The Minister without portfolio Karel Březina was the most frequently mentioned personality. He appeared at Internet servers, mainly svetnamodro.cz, the most. Among other media, Hradecké noviny wrote about Březina in connection with ISSS the most. His participation at the conference in 2001 received most attention. ČRo 1 – Radiožurnál radio station broadcasted a discussion with Karel Březina concerned with the issue of information interconnection of citizens and the public sector with regards to the EU concept called electronic government in the “About Everything With You“ programme on March 26 of 2001. The reporter asked him whether it was possible to change the situation when the public administration is not very much inclined to publish information, which is available. Minister Březina replied: “This situation naturally can be changed by passing of relevant laws. We have the law on free access to information here but on the other hand, there must be mainly a change in the thinking of officials. They have to become aware that bigger transparency of the process in public administration is much better than concealing of information also for them.“

Among EU representatives, Romano Prodi was mentioned in relation to the conference in 2000. In the following year, the media informed about participation of the EU Ambassador in CR Ramiro Cibrian at the conference.

The graph on the right illustrates which media and in what extent adopted information from the 33 news issued by ČTK in the entire monitored period. The media adopted ČTK news most often in abbreviated version. The news server of ČTK ceskenoviny.cz was the only exception. It adopted full texts of the news.
