Key words: parallelism and aljazeera news In English language, there are two kinds of language, they are spoken andwritten language. However, many students who still get difficulties to understand English in written. Because in written not only grammatically must be correct but also the balance of text must relevant. In this research, the writer focuses on parallelism. The meaning of parallelism is the repetition of chosen grammatical form within sentence but the idea in sentence must logically related should be expressed in grammatical similar construction. Parallelism has two parts, they are types and pattern. Both of them are most interesting and include in one of material for student in learning process of English. The objectives of this research are: (1) to find out types of parallelism found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013and (2) to describe the pattern of parallelism found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013. Descriptive qualitative research is used as the design of research to reach the objectives of this research. The data of this research is the types and pattern of parallelism. Meanwhile, the data source of this research is found in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013. Based on the findings, the writer found that (1) there are six types ofparallelism, they arerepetitive, gender-matched, synonymia, synonymous, synthetic, and antithetical. But in here, the writer just found four types. The types of parallelismthat were found in 15 text news of the Aljazeera News posted in September 2013are 114. It is consists of 76 repetitive, 33antithetical, 3synonymous, and the last is 2synthetic. And then, (2)almost the text in Aljazeera News posted in September 2013 uses pattern. But, the most of pattern of parallelism that are found in the program news of Aljazeera News posted in September 2013 is verb. The writer suggests, for the further researchers who are interesting in doing similar research,this research will give comprehendabout parallelism. Furthermore, this research can give contribution to inform other researchers who want to conduct about it,actually analyzing the types and the patterns ofparallelism in the sentence.

Kata-katakunci: kesamaandanberita aljazeera Dalam bahasa inggris, ada dua jenis bahasa yaitu bahasa lisan dan tertulis. Namun banyak siswa masih kesulitan untuk memahami bahasa inggris secara tertulis. Karena bahasa inggris secara tertulis tidak hanya tata bahasa yang harus benar, tetapi keseimbangan teks juga harus sesuai.Arti dari kesamaan adalah pengulangan dari pilihan bentuk bersifat tatabahasa diantara kalimat tapi ide di kalimat harus secara logika berhubungan harus diekspresikan pada konstruksi serupa yang bersifat tatabahasa. Kesamaan mempunyai dua bagian, mereka adalah jenis dan pola. Keduanya menarik untuk diperhatikan dan sudah termasuk dalam salah satu materi untuk murid dalam proses belajar dari bahasa inggris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut:(1)Untuk mengetahui jenisjenis kesamaan yang ditemukan di berita Aljazeera yang ditempatkan pada bulan september tahun 2013, dan (2) Untuk menggambarkan pola yang ditemukan di berita Aljazeera yang ditempatkan pada bulan september tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif deskriptif agar dapat mencapai tujuanya. Data dari penelitian ini adalah jenis dan pola dari kesamaan. Sementara itu sumber data penelitian ini ditemukan dalam berita Aljazeera yang ditempatkan pada bulan September tahun 2013. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa (1) ada enam jenis kesamaan, mereka adalah kesamaan perulangan, kesamaan pencocokan genus, kesamaan synonymia, kesamaan bersinonim, kesamaan buatan, dan kesamaan antithetical. Tetapi penulis hanya menemukan empat jenis. Jenis dari kesamaan yang ditemukan pada 15 teks berita dari kabar Aljazeera ditempatkan pada bulan September tahun 2013 ada 114. (2) Kemudian hampir teks di Aljazeera yang ditempatkan pada bulan September 2013 menggunakanpola. Tetapikebanyakan pola dari kesamaan yang ditemukan pada program berita dari Aljazeera pada bulan September tahun 2013 adalah katakerja.

Penulis menyarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya yang tertarik dalam melakukan penelitian yang serupa bahwa penelitian ini dapat memberikan pemahaman tentang kesamaan. Selain itu, penelitian ini bisa memberikan kontribusi informasi kepada peneliti yang ingin memilih kesamaan, tepatnya dalam menganalisis jenis dan pola dari kesamaan dalam suatu kalimat.
