Slovo úvodem…
Preface…
Pokud se mám ohlédnout za rokem 2008 a pokusit se zhodnotit, jakou stopu zanechá v historii Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček, musím říci, že to byl rok vcelku úspěšný, třebaže se nám nepodařilo všechno tak, jak jsme si přáli.
If I am to look back upon the year 2008 and try to estimate what trace it will leave in the history of the Association SOS Children’s Villages, I must say it was a quite successful year although we did not succeed in everything in the way we had wished.
V průběhu roku 2008 pokračovaly další personální změny v rámci Sdružení, které kvalifikovaně posílily Sdružení v oblasti fundraisingu – získávání finančních prostředků, v oblasti podpory matek pěstounek a jim svěřeným dětem a v oblasti dodržování práv dětí a mladistvých.
During 2008, further personnel changes continued within the Association that have professionally strengthened the Association in the field of fundraising – raising financial resources, in the sphere of supporting foster mothers and children consigned to them and in the sphere of advocating rights of children and youth.
Valná hromada jako nejvyšší rozhodující orgán Sdružení zvolila do předsednictva, statutárního orgánu Sdružení, nové členy, kteří jsou respektovanými odborníky v činnostech jak komerčního, tak neziskového sektoru. Jako velmi důležité se v roce 2008 ukázalo pravidelné metodické vedení klíčových pracovníků, hlavně rodinných poradců, kteří přímo pracují s pěstouny a jejich rodinami. Možnost setkávání a společného hledání řešení obtížných situací vedlo ke zvyšování efektivity a profesionality práce jak rodinných poradců, tak i samotných pěstounů. Důslednou evaluací prošel i přípravný kurz pro nové pěstounky. Kurz je připraven modulovou formou a většina modulů je otevřena i široké veřejnosti. V prosinci 2008 jsme po několika letech příprav přijali do systému SOS dětské vesničky manželský pěstounský pár, takže na konci roku 2008 bylo v našich zařízeních 24 matek pěstounek, jeden pěstounský pár a počet svěřených dětí je větší než 100.

Pod vlivem připravovaných změn v systému náhradní péče o děti se v roce 2008 výrazně zintenzivnila diskuse o stávající podobě sociálně-právní ochrany dětí. Mimořádně důležité je, že tato diskuse přestala být záležitostí odborníků na oblast náhradní péče o děti, ale stala se záležitostí nejširší veřejnosti. Všichni zúčastnění se přitom shodují na nutnosti preferovat rodinnou péči před péčí ústavní, včetně vytvoření podmínek pro zajištění následné péče o mladistvé. Sdružení na probíhající diskusi reagovalo velmi aktivně a některé naše návrhy se promítly do podoby nové legislativní úpravy v systému náhradní péče o děti.
The General Assembly as the highest decisive organ of the Association elected new members, who are respected experts in their activities in both profit and non-profit sectors, into the Board of Directors, the statutory organ of the Association. Regular methodical guidance of key employees, especially family counsellors who work directly with foster parents and their families showed to be very important in 2008. The possibility to meet and to search the solutions of difficult situations together led to increasing effectiveness and professionalism both of family counsellors and foster parents themselves. Even the preparatory course for new foster mothers underwent a thorough evaluation. The course is structured in a module form and most of the modules are opened to the general public. In December 2008, a foster couple was engaged in the system of SOS Children’s Villages after several years of preparation, thus, at the end of 2008, there were 24 foster mothers and one foster couple in our facilities and over 100 children consigned into their care. Under the influence of the changes in the alternative care for children that are being prepared, the discussion about current form of social and legal protection of children was intensified markedly in 2008. It is found to be especially important that this discussion ceased to be a matter of experts of the sphere of alternative care for children and became the matter of general public. At the same time, all participants agree on the need to prefer family care to institutional care including creating conditions for securing subsequent care for the youth. The Association reacted to the

DLOUHODOBÁ NÁHRADNÍ RODINNÁ PÉČE O POTŘEBNÉ DĚTI: RAZIT CESTU (SI 1)

V roce 2008 byly přijaty 4 nové matky pěstounky, dvě do SOS dětské vesničky Chvalčov a dvě do SOS dětské vesničky v Karlových Varech - Doubí. V průběhu roku 2008 byly také dokončeny nezbytné přípravné kroky na příjem pěstounských párů do SOS dětských vesniček. V prosinci 2008 pak do SOS dětské vesničky Chvalčov nastoupil po úspěšném absolvování přijímacího řízení první pěstounský pár.
4 new foster mothers were engaged in 2008, two of them in the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov and two in the SOS Children’s Village in Karlovy Vary - Doubi. During the year 2008, also the necessary preparation steps were finished to engage foster couples in SOS Children’s Villages. In December 2008, the first foster couple entered the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov, after successful passing of the probation period.
Z registrů dětí vhodných ke svěření do pěstounské péče převzali pěstouni žijící v SOS dětských vesničkách v roce 2008 do péče celkem 13 dětí (3 děti do SOS dětské vesničky v Karlových Varech - Doubí a 10 dětí do SOS dětské vesničky Chvalčov). Lze označit za velmi pozitivní, že meziročně počet dětí svěřených do péče pěstounů v SOS dětských vesničkách významně stoupl (v roce 2007 bylo do péče pěstounů v SOS dětských vesničkách svěřeno 9 dětí). Na konci roku 2008 žilo v SOS dětských vesničkách ve 24 pěstounských rodinách celkem 100 dětí, další 3 děti žily v jedné pěstounské rodině mimo SOS dětské vesničky.
Foster parents living in SOS Children’s Villages took over 13 children in total (3 children in the SOS Children’s Village Karlovy Vary – Doubi and 10 children in the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov) into their care from the registers of children suitable for foster care. It can be qualified as very positive that interannually the number of children consigned in fosterage in SOS Children’s Villages increased significantly (9 children were consigned in fosterage in SOS Children’s Villages in 2007). At the end of 2008, totally 100 children were living in SOS Children’s Villages in 24 foster families, further 3 children were living in one foster family outside the SOS Children’s Village.
S ohledem na udržení a další zvýšení kvality odborných služeb poskytovaných pěstounským rodinám v SOS dětských vesničkách bylo jednou z priorit činnosti Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček (dále jen „Sdružení“) v roce 2008 provázení pěstounské rodiny rodinným poradcem. Výsledkem intenzivní spolupráce pedagogického poradce Sdružení a rodinných poradců v jednotlivých SOS dětských vesničkách bylo pravidelné metodické vedení rodinných poradců v SOS dětské vesničce Brno - Medlánky a SOS dětské vesničce Karlovy Vary - Doubí. V průběhu roku 2008 proběhlo celkem 6 celodenních setkání. Setkávání se vždy účastnili ředitelé dané vesničky, rodinní poradci a pracovníci rozvoje osobnosti dítěte. V této činnosti hodlá Sdružení
In reference to keeping and further increasing the quality of professional service provided to foster families in SOS Children’s Villages, guidance of foster families by family counsellors was one of the priorities in activities of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages (further as “Association”) in 2008. A regular methodical guidance of family counsellors in the SOS Children’s Village Brno – Medlanky and in the SOS Children’s Village Karlovy Vary – Doubi was the result of intensive cooperation of the pedagogic advisor of the Association and family counsellors in individual SOS Children’s Villages. During 2008, 6 all-day meetings took place in total. Directors of the particular village, family counsellors and specialists for the child’s personality development took part in

each of the meetings. The Association intends to continue in the activity also in 2009 as we hold the guidance of foster families for one of the key services of the organisation.
Druhým klíčovým tématem v oblasti odborných služeb SOS dětských vesniček v roce 2008 byl proces plánování rozvoje dítěte. Ve spolupráci pedagogického poradce Sdružení, ředitelů SOS dětských vesniček, rodinných poradců a pracovníků rozvoje osobnosti dítěte proběhlo hodnocení současného stavu plánů rozvoje osobnosti dítěte. Zároveň byly hledány způsoby, jak tento proces do budoucna vylepšit tak, aby byl efektivní, co nejméně administrativně náročný a pro pěstounskou rodinu přirozený. V SOS dětské vesničce Karlovy Vary - Doubí byl tento proces znovu obnoven. Zároveň s tímto tématem bylo otevřeno i téma budování identity dítěte a možnosti zavedení práce s Knihou mého života v roce 2009.
The process of planning the child’s development was the second key subject in the sphere of professional services of SOS Children‘s Villages in 2008. Evaluation of current status of the plans of child’s personality development took place in co-operation of the pedagogic advisor of the Association, the directors of SOS Children‘s Villages, family counsellors and specialists for child’s personality development. At the same time, ways of future improving of the process were sought so that it is effective, as little demanding from the administrative point of view as possible and natural for the foster family. The process was restored again in the SOS Children‘s Village in Karlovy Vary – Doubi. The subject of building up child’s identity and possibilities of introducing work with the Book of my Life in 2009 were opened together with this subject.
Všichni noví pracovníci rozvoje osobnosti dítěte započali s dětmi v SOS dětských vesničkách skupinovou práci zaměřenou na osobnostní rozvoj dítěte. Klíčovými tématy i nadále zůstávají vysoká sebeúcta dítěte a výchova k prosociálnosti. Ve všech třech SOS dětských vesničkách také opět proběhla pracovní setkání za účasti pěstounek, ředitelů vesniček a pracovníků rozvoje osobnosti dítěte. Zásadním tématem byla otázka, jak nejlépe připravit dítě na jeho budoucí samostatný život. Po pěti letech existence komunity mládeže a po roce fungování programu polozávislého bydlení byla znovu otevřena diskuze na téma zkvalitnění služeb pro mladistvé a mladé dospělé, objevilo se téma možnosti postupné transformace komunity mládeže na centrum služeb pro mladistvé a mladé dospělé lidi z pěstounské péče, a to nejenom ze systému SOS dětských vesniček – v současné době však není reálné tuto myšlenku realizovat. S diskusí o možnostech dalšího vývoje komunity mládeže souvisí i téma „druhé segregace“, ke které v komunitě mládeže dochází. Jako jedna z možností, jak s tímto faktem pracovat, se ukazuje možnost definovat komunitu mládeže jako zařízení či službu na dobu nezbytně nutnou. Diskuze však není zdaleka ukončena a bude třeba v ní pokračovat i v roce 2009. Cílem je najít optimální řešení pro úspěšné osamostatnění našich dětí.
ROZVOJ FINANCOVÁNÍ (SI 3) V roce 2008 došlo k personálním změnám ve fundraisingovém oddělení a tým byl doplněn o dva nové členy. Posílení týmu mělo za cíl rozšířit možnosti v kontaktování potenciálních nových dárců a více diverzifikovat zdroje příjmů Sdružení.

Novému týmu se podařilo úspěšně navázat na spolupráci s hlavními korporátními dárci jako je Samsung, Hypoteční banka a OMV.
All new specialists for child’s personality development started group work with children in SOS Children‘s Villages focused on child’s personality development. High self-esteem and education to pro-social behaviour further stay the key subjects. Working meetings attended by foster mothers, directors of the villages and specialists for child’s personality development took part in all three SOS Children’s Villages over again. The question how to best prepare a child for his future independent life was the fundamental subject. After five years of existence of the Youth Community and after a year of operation of the programme of semi-independent housing, a discussion to the subject of higher quality of services for youth and young adults was re-opened, the subject of possible gradual transformation of the Youth Community into a service centre for youth and young adults from foster care, namely not only from the system of SOS Children’s Villages reappeared – however, at present it is not realistic to realize this idea. The subject of “the second segregation” that occurs in the Youth Community is connected to the discussion on possibilities of further development of the Youth Community. A possibility of defining the Youth Community as a facility or service for a must what does this mean? period appears as one of the possibilities how to work with this fact. However the discussion is far from being finished and is needed to be continued also in 2009. The aim is to find the optimal solution for successfully leading our children to independency
GLOBAL FUNDING (SI 3) In 2008 personnel changes occurred in the fundraising department and the team was completed with two new members. The aim of strengthening the team was a broader range and possibility of bigger diversification of the income resources of the Association.

Společnost Samsung navázala na tradici Samsung Running Festivalu a zorganizovala v Brně a v Karlových Varech tzv. Samsung desetiboj, kterého se vedle dětí z SOS dětských vesniček zúčastnily také děti ze základních škol v nejbližším okolí. Na obou akcích děti pozdravili známí sportovci, např. desetibojař Roman Šebrle, trojskokanka Šárka Kašpárková a běžkyně Lída Formanová. U příležitosti vyhlášení výsledků desetiboje byl také předán šek od společnosti Samsung na podporu SOS dětských vesniček v hodnotě 1 000 000 Kč. Tato částka byla rozdělena na finanční dar a dar věcný.
The new team succeeded in taking up the co-operation with the main corporate givers as Samsung, Hypotecni banka and OMV. The company Samsung took up the tradition of Samsung Running Festival and organised so called Samsung Decathlon in Brno and Karlovy Vary, in which beside children from SOS Children’s Villages also children from primary schools in the closest neighbourhood took part. Famous sportspersons greeted the children in both events, e.g. decathlon champion Roman Sebrle, triple jump champion Sarka Kasparkova and runner Lida Formanova. On the occasion of announcing the results of the decathlon, also a check in the amount of CZK 1 000 000 from the Samsung Company was handed over to support the SOS Children’s Villages. The amount was divided into a financial gift and donations in kind. In 2008, also the co-operation with Hypotecni banka continued within the frame of which Hypotecni banka donated CZK 20 of each signed contract on mortgage credit to support the Association. At the end of the year, the Association obtained a financial gift also from its longtime partner, the OMV Company. Among new corporate givers, the Mazda Company supported the activities of the Association significantly, namely with the amount of EUR 30,000, further RWE and Ahold. We succeeded in starting a new co-operation with hotel chain Marriott. On the basis of this partnership, the Association could use the rooms of Marriott hotels for our activities during 2008, i.e. educational seminars, accommodation of important guest or General Assembly of the Association. Last but not least, the Association succeeded in obtaining important grants from corporate foundations of the companies CEZ and Komercni banka. Before the end of 2008, a rather successful direct mailing campaign took place that was aimed at smaller and middle-sized companies.
V roce 2008 pokračovala i spolupráce s Hypoteční bankou, v jejímž rámci Hypoteční banka věnuje za každou uzavřenou smlouvu o hypotečním úvěru 20 Kč na podporu Sdružení. V závěru roku Sdružení získalo finanční dar také od dlouhodobého partnera společnosti OMV.

Z nových korporátních dárců činnost Sdružení významně podpořili společnost Mazda, a to částkou 30.000 EUR, RWE a Ahold. Nově se podařilo navázat i spolupráci s hotelovým řetězcem Marriott. Na základě tohoto partnerství mohlo Sdružení v průběhu roku 2008 několikrát využít prostory hotelů Marriott ke konání svých akcí, ať již se jednalo o vzdělávací semináře, ubytování významných hostů nebo valnou hromadu Sdružení. V neposlední řadě se Sdružení podařilo získat významné granty od korporátních nadací společností ČEZ a Komerční banka.
During 2008, two golf tournaments were organized the profits of which were donated in favour of the SOS Children’s Villages. In spring, there was a tournament organised by the Czech Golf Production Company in favour of the SOS Children’s Village Karlovy Vary – Doubi in Karlstejn. In autumn, there was the already established Family cup organised by the PDJ Development Company in Karlovy Vary. The Association tested several novelties in the field of individual fundraising in 2008. The first novelty consisted in increasing the frequency of circularisation of the bulletin Vesnicka to the permanent contributors quarterly. With respect to the success of this step, the bulletin will be published four times a year in the future. Direct mailing campaign was tested during summer and realised in big scale in November, when

the appeal for supporting the SOS Children’s Villages was distributed to 200,000 prospective individual givers. The results of this campaign were good beyond expectations.
Během roku 2008 byly zorganizovány dva golfové turnaje, jejichž výtěžek byl věnován ve prospěch SOS dětských vesniček. Na jaře se jednalo o turnaj organizovaný na Karlštejně společností Czech golf production ve prospěch SOS dětské vesničky Karlovy Vary - Doubí. Na podzim to byl již tradiční Family cup pořádaný společností PDJ development v Karlových Varech.
Unfortunately, the start of the campaign focused on gaining new givers in the form of their direct addressing in the street or in places with big movement of people failed (so called dialog direct campaign). The campaign should be started after finishing the whole conception in the mid of 2009.
Na poli individuálního fundraisingu Sdružení v průběhu roku 2008 testovalo několik novinek. První novinkou bylo zvýšení frekvence rozesílání zpravodaje Vesnička stálým přispěvatelům čtyři čísla ročně. Vzhledem k úspěšnosti tohoto kroku bude zpravodaj i nadále vycházet čtvrtletně. Během léta byla otestována a v listopadu pak ve velké měřítku realizována direct mailová kampaň, kdy byla žádost o podporu SOS dětských vesniček rozeslána na 200.000 možných nových individuálních dárců. Výsledky této kampaně byly nad očekávání dobré.
In autumn a campaign was organised within the frame of which red gift bags of the Association with a motto “Helping children” were sold in the net of chosen shops in the whole Czech Republic. In spite of the fact the supportive medial campaign, due to limited financial resources, could not be of such an extent as in past years the results of the sales were satisfactory. The gift bags were among others sold by the traditional partners of the Christmas campaign of the Association who are book-shops Kanzelsberger and perfumeries Marionnaud, and further in the net of shops with children’s wear Au pays des mimis.
Bohužel se nepodařilo spustit kampaň zaměřenou na získávání nových dárců formou jejich přímého oslovování na ulici, resp. v místech s velkým pohybem lidí (tzv. dialog direct kampaň). Po dopracování celkové koncepce by měla být kampaň zahájena v první polovině roku 2009.
The most important corporate donors of the Association of SOS children’s villages in 2008
Na podzim byla realizována kampaň, v jejímž rámci byly v síti vybraných obchodů po celé České republice prodávány červené dárkové tašky Sdružení s mottem „Pomáhám dětem“. Přestože podpůrná mediální kampaň nemohla být z důvodu omezených finančních prostředků takového rozsahu jako v minulých letech, byly výsledky prodeje uspokojující. SPOLUÚČAST A PARTNERSTVÍ (SI 4) V první polovině roku 2008 se Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček stalo partnerem soutěže pro děti „Moje soukromí. Nekoukat, nešťourat!“, kterou již podruhé vyhlásil Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů. Cílem soutěže je upozornit děti na hrozby spočívající v neopatrném nakládání s osobními údaji a jejich zveřejňováním např. prostřednictvím Internetu. Úkolem dětí bylo výtvarnou či literární formou zpracovat svou představu o tom, jak by si měli chránit své soukromí a naopak nenarušovat soukromí svých blízkých, kamarádů a vrstevníků. Do soutěže se úspěšně zapojily i děti z SOS dětských vesniček v Rusku, Kazachstánu, Bosně a Hercegovině a Litvě, když jedna dívka z Kazachstánu a další dvě děti z Ruska ve své kategorii zvítězily a byly pozvány na slavnostní vyhlášení výsledků soutěže v průběhu Mezinárodního festivalu filmů pro děti a mládež ve Zlíně. V důsledku organizačních komplikací nakonec přicestovala jen dívka z Kazachstánu, která v České republice strávila se svou matkou pěstounkou 5 dnů. V úspěšné spolupráci s Úřadem pro ochranu osobních údajů a Mezinárodním festivalem filmů pro děti a mládež hodlá Sdružení pokračovat i v roce 2009.

V polovině roku 2008 byla v rámci národní kanceláře Sdružení vytvořena nová pracovní pozice Pověřence pro práva dítěte. Úkolem tohoto pracovníka je aktivně vystupovat v diskusích o možných změnách v systému náhradní péče o děti a navazovat širší spolupráci s odborníky na poli náhradní péče o děti a dětských práv obecně. Zároveň by mělo dojít k výraznému zintenzivnění kontaktů se státními institucemi odpovědnými za systém náhradní péče o děti (Ministerstvo
In the first half of 2008, the Association of SOS Children’s Villages became a partner in the children’s contest “My privacy. Don’t look, don’t poke!” that was announced by the Office for Personal Data Protection already for second time. The aim of the contest is to advise the children of threats consisting in careless manipulating with personal data and their publishing e.g. via Internet. Children were asked to present their ideas how to protect our privacy and on the contrary how not to disturb the privacy of our closest, friends and peers in drawings or literary assays. Also children from SOS Children’s Villages in Russia, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania took part in the contest successfully when one girl from Kazakhstan and another two children from Russia won and they were invited to the festive announcement of results of the contest during the International Festival of Films for Children and Youth in Zlin. In consequence of complications in organisation, only the girl from Kazakhstan came in the end and she and her foster mother spent 5 days in the Czech Republic. The Association intends to continue the successful co-operation with the Office for Personal Data Protection and the International Festival of Films for Children and Youth in 2009. In the half of 2008, a new position as Advocacy Officer was created within the frame of the National Office of the Association. The task of the specialist is to take an active part in public discussions on possible changes in the system of alternative care for children and to establish broader co-operation with experts in the sphere of alternative care for children and children’s rights generally. At the same time, a pronounced intensification of contacts with state institutions responsible for the system of alternative care for children (Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports etc.) and political representatives on the central and regional levels (Members of Parliament, regional and local authorities) should occur. The first result of this newly introduced strategy was a presentation of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages in the tour session of the Committee for Children’s Rights in the seat of the Regional Office of the Karlovarsky Region. Minister of Human Rights and National Minorities MUDr. Dzamila Stehlikova took part in the session of the Committee as well.

Prvním výsledkem této nově zvolené strategie byla prezentace Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček na výjezdním zasedání Výboru pro práva dítěte v sídle Krajského úřadu Karlovarského kraje. Zasedání Výboru se zúčastnila i ministryně pro lidská práva a národnostní menšiny MUDr. Džamila Stehlíková. Dalším úspěchem ve snaze Sdružení stát se respektovaným partnerem orgánů státní správy bylo navázání intenzivních styků se zástupci Ministerstva školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy a Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí. Myšlenku SOS dětských vesniček se podařilo prezentovat na nejvyšší úrovni obou institucí, když se uskutečnilo setkání s ministrem školství Mgr. Ondřejem Liškou a náměstkem ministra práce a sociálních věcí MUDr. Mariánem Hoškem. S ohledem na připravovanou reformu systému náhradní péče o děti byly rozvíjeny i kontakty s členy Parlamentu České republiky, především na půdě Stálé komise pro rodinu a Výboru pro sociální politiku. Vedle individuálních setkání se podařilo realizovat i prezentaci Sdružení a jeho činnosti pro členy Stálé komise pro rodinu. V důsledku navázaných kontaktů se zástupcům Sdružení podařilo v závěru roku 2008 zapojit do připravované reformy systému náhradní péče o děti, kdy jim byly zaslány k připomínkám diskutované možnosti legislativních změn, z nichž některé se významně dotýkají i postavení SOS dětských vesniček. Je třeba zdůraznit, že Sdružení během jednání s výše uvedenými institucemi předložilo své vlastní návrhy na legislativní úpravy v systému náhradní péče o děti, které usilovaly o zrovnoprávnění SOS dětských vesniček s ostatními formami náhradní péče o děti, především v rovině finanční podpory ze strany státu. Je pozitivní, že návrhy předložené v závěru roku 2008 odpovědnými státními institucemi mnohé z těchto návrhů Sdružení reflektují. S ohledem na přehled výše uvedených aktivit se Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček pohybuje na stupnici mezinárodní organizace SOS Kinderdorf International, s jejíž pomocí lze hodnotit rozsah aktivit v oblasti prosazování práv dítěte, na úrovni 2.

V průběhu roku 2008 došlo k dalším personálním změnám v předsednictvu Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček, když na své členství v předsednictvu postupně rezignovaly JUDr. Šárka Toulová a Mgr. Jitka Jarníková, další člence předsednictva Ing. Jitce Říhové skončil mandát. Vzhledem k tomu, a také se snahou získat za členy předsednictva další respektované odborníky z různých oblastí života společnosti, došlo v průběhu valné hromady Sdružení, která se uskutečnila
Another success in the efforts of the Association to become a respected partner of the organs of the State Authorities was establishing intense relations with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. We succeeded in presenting the idea of SOS Children’s Villages in the highest level of both of the institutions when a meeting with the Minister of Education Mgr. Ondrej Liska and Vice-Minister of Labour and Social Affairs MUDr. Marian Hosek took place. With reference to the prepared revision of the system of alternative care for children contacts with Members of Parliament of the Czech Republic were also cultivated, especially on the grounds of the Standing Commission for Family and Committee for the Social Policy. Beside individual meetings also a presentation of the Association and our activities for members of the Standing Commission for Family could be realized. In consequence of the established contacts, the representatives of the Association succeeded in participating in the prepared revision of the system of alternative care for children in the end of 2008, when they received the discussed possibilities of legislative changes for comments, some of which affect notably also the position of SOS Children‘s Villages. It must be stressed that the Association presented our own drafts of legislative adjustments in the system of alternative care for children during the negotiations with the above mentioned institutions that were striving for equal rights for the SOS Children‘s Villages and other forms of alternative care for children, especially at the level of financial support of the state. It is positive that the drafts presented by the responsible state institutions in the end of 2008 reflect many of the proposals of the Association. With reference to the list of above mentioned activities the Association of SOS Children’s Villages can be found on level 2 according to the International Organisation of SOS Kinderdorf International’s scale with the help of which it is possible to evaluate the extend of activities in the sphere of asserting children’s rights.
STRONG LOCAL ROOTS (SI 6) During 2008, further personnel changes in the Board of Directors of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages took place when JUDr. Sarka Toulova and Mgr. Jitka Jarnikova resigned their membership in the Board in successive order and the membership in the Board of Ing. Jitka Rihova ended. With regard to this and also in the effort to acquire new members of the Board and further respected experts from different spheres of the social life an by-election of the members of the Board of Directors took place during the General Assembly of the Association that was held on November 22nd, 2008. JUDr. Ing. Otakar Schlossberger, PhD., and PhDr. Veduna Bubleova were elected the new members of the Board.

VÝZKUM (SI 7) V průběhu roku 2008 proběhla evaluace kvality péče podle metodiky vypracované oddělením kvality péče (CQD) organizace SOS Kinderdorf International (KDI) a byla vypracována SWOT analýza. Evaluace se zúčastnilo 26 pěstounek, ředitelé SOS dětských vesniček, pracovníci rozvoje osobnosti dítěte a 5 rodinných asistentek. Získané podklady jsou využívány ke zlepšení odborné stránky práce Sdružení. Zároveň v SOS dětských vesničkách probíhal výzkum, který je součástí vysokoškolské diplomové práce na téma „Vztahové zázemí dětí z SOS dětských vesniček“. Výzkum je realizován pomocí strukturovaných rozhovorů s profesionály, pracujícími v SOS dětských vesničkách.
ROZVOJ LIDSKÝCH ZDROJŮ (SI 8) V roce 2008 byla oblast koncepční práce spadající do kompetencí pedagogického poradce národní ředitelky významně ovlivněna přetrvávajícími personálními změnami na důležitých pozicích a také faktem, že byl pedagogický poradce pověřen spoluvedením SOS dětské vesničky Medlánky a to do konce dubna 2008.
RESEARCH (SI 7) During 2008, evaluation of the quality of care according to the methodology processed by the Care Quality Department (CQD) of the SOS Kinderdorf International (KDI) Organisation took place and a SWOT analysis was elaborated. 26 foster mothers, directors of SOS Children’s Villages, specialists for the child’s personality development and 5 family assistants took part in the evaluation. The acquired data is used for improving the professional side of the work of the Association. At the same time a research took place in the SOS Children’s Villages forming one part of a University thesis with the subject matter “Relationship Backgrounds of Children in SOS Children’s Villages”. The research was carried out by means of structured interviews with specialists working in the SOS Children’s Villages.
HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT (SI 8) In 2008, the area of conceptual work falling within the cognisance of the pedagogic advisor of the National Director was notably influenced by the persistent personnel changes in important posts as well as by the fact that the pedagogic advisor was entrusted also the management of the SOS Children’s Village Medlanky, namely until the end of April 2008. During 2008, following posts could be filled in successive steps:

Důležitou součástí politiky Sdružení v oblasti lidských zdrojů je supervizní činnost. Vzhledem k obtížné finanční situaci probíhala supervizní činnost v roce 2008 v některých zařízeních Sdružení nepravidelně a nebyla dostatečná. V rámci snahy o zkvalitňování služeb poskytovaných pěstounským rodinám však došlo k novému nastavení supervizní činnosti pro rok 2009. Všichni klíčoví pracovníci Sdružení budou moci pracovat pod různými druhy supervize a v každém zařízení bude zajištěna pravidelná supervize pěstounům a týmům zaměstnanců zařízení. Vedle toho budou mít vedoucí pracovníci zařízení možnost využívat supervizi individuální.

Supervision activities form an important part of the Association policy in the sphere of human resources. With respect to the difficult financial situation, supervisions in some facilities of the Association were performed irregularly and were unsatisfactory in 2008. Within the effort for better quality of the service provided to foster families however, a new set up of supervision activities for the year 2009 took place. All key workers of the Association will be able to work under different kinds of supervision and a regular supervision for foster parents and the teams of specialists in the facilities will be secured in each facility. Besides, managers of the facilities will be in the position of using individual supervisions.

Na konci roku 2007 nastoupil do národní kanceláře Sdružení nový pracovník na pozici PR manažer. Jeho nejvýznamnějším úkolem pro rok 2008 bylo zvýšit obecné povědomí o aktivitách Sdružení a přispět tak k povzbuzení zájmu možných uchazečů o práci pěstounů v SOS dětských vesničkách, v neposlední řadě však také na existenci Sdružení upozornit individuální a firemní dárce.
At the end of 2007, a new worker entered the position of the PR manager in the National Office of the Association. His most important task in 2008 was to increase the general knowledge of activities of the Association and to contribute to increasing interest of possible applicants for working as foster parents in the SOS Children’s Villages in this way, and last but not least also to draw the attention of corporate givers to the existence of the Association.
V lednu 2008 se Sdružení stalo partnerem soutěže „Moje soukromí. Nekoukat, nešťourat!“, kterou pro děti a mládež vyhlásil Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů. Soutěž byla vzhledem ke svému mediálnímu pokrytí potenciálně dobrým odrazovým můstkem pro vlastní prezentaci Sdružení, navíc nabízela možnost navázat zajímavé kontakty pro budoucí spolupráci. Oba dva předpoklady se potvrdily, ze získaných partnerů byl nejvýznamnějším jednoznačně Mezinárodní festival filmů pro děti a mládež ve Zlíně. V uplynulých letech Sdružení nepublikovalo veřejně dostupnou verzi své výroční zprávy. I v této oblasti došlo ke změně a v březnu 2008 byla vydána v tištěné podobě Výroční zpráva Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček za rok 2007, současně byla spolu se zprávou o hospodaření publikována na internetových stránkách Sdružení. Tuto informační otevřenost vůči svým sponzorům a partnerům považuje Sdružení za zásadní a hodlá proto v této politice pokračovat i v dalších letech. Výroční zpráva byla zároveň vzhledem ke své formě poprvé využita při jednání s možnými partnery včetně politických představitelů jako reprezentativní informační zdroj o činnosti Sdružení. V průběhu jara se Sdružení představilo na několika akcích majících charakter prezentací neziskových organizací. Mezi nejvýznamnější patřilo Fórum neziskových organizací, které proběhlo v rámci filmového festivalu Jeden svět. Další podobnou akcí byl tzv. Veletrh neziskových organizací, organizovaný jako součást významné mezinárodní konference Forum 2000 v Praze. Vůbec nejvýznamnější akcí, na které se Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček v první polovině roku 2008 představilo, byl Mezinárodní festival filmů pro děti a mládež ve Zlíně. V průběhu festivalu se odehrálo slavnostní vyhlášení výsledků soutěže „Moje soukromí. Nekoukat, nešťourat!“ a Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček také uspořádalo slavnostní setkání se svými významnými partnery z řad regionální politické reprezentace, firemních sponzorů i individuálních dárců. Setkání proběhlo díky podpoře hejtmana Zlínského kraje na půdě Krajského úřadu Zlínského kraje a kromě pana hejtmana se akce zúčastnila i primátorka statutárního města Zlín či předseda Úřadu pro ochranu osobních údajů.

Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček se v průběhu léta podařilo získat jako svou mediální tvář Českou Miss 2008 Elišku Bučkovou. Poprvé byla Eliška Bučková v této roli představena během své návštěvy SOS dětské vesničky v Brně – Medlánkách na konci měsíce srpna.
In January 2008, the Association became a partner in the contest “My privacy. Don’t look, don’t poke!” that was announced by the Office for Personal Data Protection for children and youth. With regard to its medial coverage, the contest was a possible good springboard for own presentation of the Association, and more over, it offered a possibility to establish interesting contacts for future co-operation. Both assumptions were confirmed, the International Festival of Films for Children and Youth in Zlin was definitely the most important of the acquired partners. In the past, the Association did not publish a publicly accessible version of the Annual Report. There were changes also in this respect and the Association of SOS Children’s Villages Annual Report 2007 was printed in March 2008, at the same time it was published together with the Report on Economy on the websites of the Association. The Association holds this information frankness against our sponsors and partners for fundamental and intends to continue with this policy also in future years. With regard to its form, the Annual Report was also used as an information source on the activities of the Association in negotiations with possible partners including political representatives. In spring, the Association introduced itself at several events of the character of non-profit organisations presentations. Forum of non-profit organisations that took place within the frame of the film festival One World belonged to the most important ones. So-called NGO Market that was organized as a part of an important international conference Forum 2000 in Prague was another similar event. The International Festival of Films for Children and Youth in Zlin was the most important ever of the events in which the Association of SOS Children‘s Villages introduced itself in the first half of 2008. The festive announcement of the results of the contest “My privacy. Don‘t look, don‘t poke!” took place during the Festival and the Association of SOS Children‘s Villages organised also the festive meeting with its important partners among political representatives, corporate sponsors and individual givers. Thanks to the support of the Regional Commissioner of the Zlinsky Region, the meeting took place in the grounds of the Regional Office of the Zlinsky Region and beside the Commissioner also the Chief Magistrate

Od října do prosince probíhala vánoční kampaň Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček, v jejímž průběhu byly ve vybraných obchodech po celé České republice prodávány červené dárkové tašky s mottem „Pomáhá dětem“. Kampaň byla podpořena plakáty umístěnými na venkovních reklamních plochách v Praze, Brně a Karlových Varech. Tváří kampaně se stala Česká Miss 2008 Eliška Bučková.
of the statutory town of Zlin or the Chairperson of the Office for Personal Data Protection took part in the event. The Association of SOS Children‘s Villages succeeded in gaining the Czech Miss 2008 Eliska Buckova as its medial face during summer. Eliska Buckova was introduced in this role in the end of August during her visit in SOS Children‘s Village in Brno – Medlanky for the first time. From October till December, the Christmas campaign of the Association of SOS Children‘s Villages was organised during which red gift bags with the motto “Helping the children” were sold in chosen shops in the whole Czech Republic. The campaign was supported by posters that were placed on outside advertising sites in Prague, Brno and Karlovy Vary. The Czech Miss 2008 Eliska Buckova became the face of the campaign. During the year 2008, four copies of the bulletin of SOS Children‘s Villages under the name of Vesnicka that is distributed to all individual and corporate givers of the Association were published. In the past, this bulletin was issued three times a year, in 2008, the number of issues was increased to four. This step enabled to inform about different events that the children from the SOS Children‘s Villages took part in or that were directly organised by the SOS Children‘s Villages in shorter time sequence.

During 2008, the Association organised also two press conferences, the first was hold in June, the second then in November. Both press conferences rouse big interest of media when representatives of public legal TV and broadcast, press agencies, all-state journals and magazines presenting subjects from the sphere of interpersonal relationships, family and child education took part. By means of the press conferences intensive contacts especially with representatives of the Czech Broadcasting were established. Thanks to these contacts, representatives of the SOS Association were invited to different discussion programmes on the subject of alternative care for children, family etc. during the second half of the year 2008 repeatedly. We intend to further intensify and strengthen the established contacts with the media in 2009.

V průběhu roku 2008 byla vydána celkem čtyři čísla časopisu SOS dětských vesniček pod názvem Vesnička, který je rozesílán všem individuálním i firemním dárcům Sdružení. V minulých letech vycházel tento časopis třikrát ročně, v roce 2008 byl počet vydání zvýšen na čtyři. Tento krok umožnil informovat v kratší časové návaznosti o jednotlivých akcích, kterých se děti z SOS dětských vesniček účastnily nebo je SOS dětské vesničky přímo organizovaly. Během roku 2008 také Sdružení zorganizovalo dvě tiskové konference, první se konala v červnu, druhá pak v listopadu. Obě tiskové konference vzbudily velký zájem médií a zúčastnili se jich zástupci veřejnoprávní televize i rozhlasu, tiskových agentur, celostátních deníků i časopisů píšících o tématech z oblasti mezilidských vztahů, rodiny a výchovy dětí. Prostřednictvím tiskových konferencí byly navázány intenzivní kontakty především se zástupci Českého rozhlasu. Díky těmto kontaktům byli zástupci Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček v průběhu druhé polovině roku 2008 opakovaně zváni do různých diskusních pořadů na téma náhradní péče o děti, rodina apod. Navázané kontakty s médii hodláme v roce 2009 dále prohlubovat a posilovat.
1.3 Důležitá rozhodnutí předsednictva přijatá v průběhu roku 2008 III/2008 Předsednictvo vzalo na vědomí rozhodnutí pedagogické komise Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček o přijetí 4 nových kandidátek na pozici matek pěstounek. Jedna kandidátka dostala půlroční odklad s tím, že jako SOS matka pěstounka nastoupí od 1. 1. 2009, do té doby bude na pozici rodinné asistentky.
1.3 Important Decisions of the Board Adopted during 2008 III/2008 The Board took notice of the decision of the Pedagogic Committee of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages on engaging 4 new candidates for foster mothers. One candidate was granted a half-year delay with that she would enter the position of SOS foster mother since January 1st, 2009 and till then she will work in the position of a family assistant.
IV/2008 The Board took notice of the demission of the member of the Board JUDr. Sarka Toulova.
VI/2008 New version of the Agreement on performing foster care in the facilities was approved.
IX/08 With effect from September 1st, 2008, a new position of PR&NAO (PR & National Advocacy Officer) was established. The Board entrusted the pedagogic advisor of the Association with continuing and finishing the concept of the Youth Community. The Board approved on integrating the foster couple in the system of SOS Children’s Villages and took notice of conditions that this integration will bring about.

The Board approved Ms. PhDr. Veduna Bubleova and Mr. JUDr. Ing. Otakar Schlossberger, PhD., as new candidates for members of the Board of the Association SOS Children’s Villages with reference to the process of professionalizing activities of the Association SOS Children’s Villages. It further approved Ms. Chantal Poullain as the new honorary member of the Association. All proposed candidates were approved by the General Assembly of the Association SOS Children’s Villages on November 22nd, 2008.

X/08 Předsednictvo schválilo všemi přítomnými členy bez výhrad aktualizovaný dokument „Podpora SOS matek pěstounek“, který se také zabývá další podporou dětí v SOS dětských vesničkách a mladistvých v Komunitě mládeže. Předsednictvo odsouhlasilo paní PhDr. Vedunu Bubleovou a pana JUDr. Ing. Otakara Schlossbergera, PhD., jako nové kandidáty na členy předsednictva Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček s ohledem na profesionalizaci činnosti Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček. Dále odsouhlasilo jako nového čestného člena Sdružení paní Chantal Poullain. Všichni navržení kandidáti byli Valnou hromadou Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček dne 22. 11. 2008 schváleni.
XI/08 Předsednictvo odsouhlasilo předložení aktualizované verze Stanov členům Valné hromady Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček konané 22. 11. 2008. Předsednictvo rozhodlo nežádat valnou hromadu o udělení absolutoria za účetní závěrku za rok 2007 a svolat mimořádnou valnou hromadu za 6 měsíců po konání řádné Valné hromady.
1.4 Návrhy na aktualizace a změny ve stávajících dokumentech Základními dokumenty Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček jsou Manuál SOS dětských vesniček a Manuál lidských zdrojů, jejichž implementace probíhala i v roce 2008. Do roku 2009 by měl být proces implementace těchto závazných dokumentů ve všech třech SOS dětských vesničkách ukončen a předán do rukou ředitelů SOS dětských vesniček. V průběhu roku 2008 vznikla potřeba upravit Manuál SOS dětských vesniček tak, aby odpovídal platné legislativě a současným trendům v oblasti náhradní rodinné péče. Stejně tak byl aktualizován i dokument Podpora SOS matek pěstounek, který se mimo jiné zabývá také další podporou dětí v SOS dětských vesničkách a mladistvých v Komunitě mládeže. Poměrně složitou otázkou, kterou bude třeba řešit v roce 2009, je oblast podpory zajištění trvalého bydlení pro mladé dospělé, kteří se chystají opustit systém následné péče. Tato oblast představuje v současné době pro Sdružení velikou finanční zátěž. Přesto budeme nadále hledat možnosti a cesty, jak naše mladé v této oblasti podpořit.

Pro rok 2009 je zásadním úkolem Sdružení vedle pokračující implementace závazných dokumentů také sladění všech dokumentů, které se zabývají profesionalitou poskytované péče. Mezi tyto dokumenty patří:

1.4 Drafts of Updating and Changes in the Current Documents Key documents of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages are the SOS Children’s Villages Manual and Human Resources Manual and their implementation proceeded also in 2008. The process of implementing these binding documents should be completed and transferred to the hands of the directors of all three SOS Children’s Villages until the end of 2009. During 2008, the need arouse to adjust the SOS Children’s Villages Manual so that it conforms to the legislation in force and to current trends in the sphere of alternative family care. In the same way the document Support of SOS foster mothers was updated that is among others dealing with further support of children in SOS Children’s Villages and of youth in the Youth Community. A rather complicated question that will need to be solved in 2009 is the sphere of support for ensuring permanent housing for young adults who are going to leave the system of subsequent care. This sphere represents big financial load for the Association at present. In spite of that we will further search for ways how to support our young in these area. Besides the continuing implementation of the binding documents, another fundamental task for the Association in the year 2009 is also to harmonise all documents regarding professional qualities of the provided care. 1.5 Selection of New SOS Foster Mothers During 2008, a change in staffing took place, when the up to now co-ordinator of foster mothers Mgr. Veronika Uhlirova was replaced by Mgr. Zuzana Ouhrabkova in July 2008. The co-ordinator

1.5 Výběr nových matek pěstounek V průběhu roku 2008 došlo ke změně personálního obsazení, když dosavadní koordinátorku matek pěstounek Mgr. Veroniku Uhlířovou nahradila v červenci roku 2008 Mgr. Zuzana Ouhrabková. Koordinátorka matek je jedním ze dvou poradců národní ředitelky Sdružení (druhým je pedagogický poradce).
1.5.1 Nábor pěstounů Vedením náboru nových SOS matek pěstounek je pověřena koordinátorka matek pěstounek. Snahou je najít ženy nezadané (rozvedené, vdovy, svobodné), nejlépe ve věku 30 – 45 let. Během jara byly z celkového počtu 10 vážných zájemců vybrány 4 kandidátky a jeden pěstounský pár, kteří nastoupili do přípravného kurzu. Na podzim 2008 začal nový nábor vhodných pěstounů pro výběrová kola v roce 2009. Nábor není konán pomocí inzerátů, ale formou mediální kampaně v tisku a rozhlase. V průběhu podzimních měsíců roku 2008 se podařilo informovat možné zájemce o potřebě náboru nových pěstounů pro SOS dětské vesničky prostřednictvím článků v regionálním tisku a časopisech pro ženy, mimořádný význam měla série pořadů ve vysílání Českého rozhlasu. Do konce roku 2008 Sdružení kontaktovalo 8 párů a 18 žen se zájmem o práci pěstounů v SOS dětských vesničkách.
1.5.2 Přípravný kurz Po evaluaci přípravného kurzu v roce 2007 byla změněna celková struktura přípravného kurzu. Sebezkušenostní i teoretické bloky přípravy byly realizovány během víkendů a byly nabízeny kandidátkám, současným matkám pěstounkám i veřejnosti. Tato nabídka byla využita zájemci z řad SOS pěstounek, individuálních pěstounů a pracovníků jiných neziskových organizací.

1.5.1 Recruitment of SOS Foster Parents The SOS foster mothers’ co-ordinator is appointed to manage recruitment of new SOS foster mothers. We endeavour to find single women (divorced, widows, unmarried) aged among 30 and 45 years at best. During spring, 4 candidates and one foster couple were chosen from the total number of 10 serious applicants who entered the preparatory course. In autumn 2008, a new recruitment of suitable foster parents started for selection rounds in 2009. The recruitment is not performed by means of advertisements but in the form of medial campaign in press and broadcast. During autumn months of the year 2008, possible applicants could be informed about the need of recruitment of new foster parents for the SOS Children’s Villages by means of articles in regional press and magazines for women, a series of programmes in the Czech broadcasting was of extraordinary importance. Till the end of 2008, the Association was contacted by 8 couples and 18 women who were interested in the work of foster parents in SOS Children’s Villages.
1.5.2 Preparatory Course The overall structure of the preparatory course was changed after evaluation of the preparatory course in 2007. Self-experience and theoretic blocks of the preparation were organised during weekends and they were offered to the candidates, current foster mothers and public. The offer was used by interested persons among the SOS foster mothers, individual foster parents and employees of other non-profit organisations. The course was drawn for 60 self-experience hours, 150 theoretical preparation hours, 150 hours of practical training in caring for children in SOS Children’s Villages in the form of the work of a family assistant and 4O hours of practice in other organisations caring for children outside their biological family. At the same time, the needs of education and evaluation of the current system were mapped. The results of this job will show in deepening the quality of education in 2009. At the same time, offering the acquired long-time knowledge and experience from the activities of SOS Children’s Villages also to the interested persons among professionals and individual foster parents will be one of the priorities of the Association.

Výsledky této práce se projeví prohloubením kvality vzdělávání v roce 2009. Zároveň bude jednou z priorit Sdružení nabízet získané dlouholeté znalosti a zkušenosti z činnosti SOS dětských vesniček i zájemcům z řad odborných pracovníků a individuálních pěstounů.
1.5.3 Recruitment and Creating Conditions for Foster Couples Long-time preparation of engaging foster couples culminated in engaging one complete family in the SOS Children’s Village in Chvalcov in the end of the year 2008. They are a married couple and already have 3 children in their fosterage, after expiration of the adaptation period in the SOS Children’s Village (appr. June 2009) taking of further children is counted with.
1.5.3 Nábor a vytváření podmínek pro pěstounské páry Dlouholetá příprava přijetí pěstounských párů vyvrcholila v závěru roku 2008 přijetím jedné kompletní rodiny do SOS dětské vesničky v Chvalčově. Jde o manželský pár, který již má ve své pěstounské péči 3 děti, po skončení adaptačního období v SOS dětské vesničce (cca červen 2009) se počítá s příjmem dalších dětí. Přijetí prvního páru bylo připravováno ve spolupráci s oddělením kvality péče organizace SOS Kinderdorf International (CQD KDI), odbornými pracovníky Sdružení a pracovnicí OSPOD ve Zlíně. Pěstounská rodina v SOS dětské vesničce oslavila vánoce a v současné době se již plně podílí na životě zařízení.
1.6 Účast na odborných seminářích a konferencích V roce 2008 se pracovníci Sdružení zúčastnili několika odborných konferencí na téma náhradní péče o děti. Mezi nejvýznamnější akce patřila konference „Děti potřebují rodinu - Inovativní přístupy v práci s ohroženými rodinami, která se uskutečnila 22. – 23. května 2008 a jejímiž pořadateli byli Nadace Terezy Maxové, Člověk hledá člověka, o. s. a Katedra sociální práce FF UK v Praze. V říjnu 2008 se pracovníci Sdružení zúčastnili případové konference „Možnosti individuálního plánování pro ohroženou mládež“ v Otrokovicích, kterou pořádalo občanské sdružení Člověk hledá člověka. Na konferenci vystoupil se svým příspěvkem pedagogický poradce Sdružení, který prezentoval bohaté zkušenosti SOS dětských vesniček v práci se znevýhodněnými dětmi. Další významnou akcí, které se pracovníci Sdružení SOS dětských vesniček zúčastnili, byla konference „Dítě v systému náhradní péče“, která se uskutečnila 20. listopadu 2008 v Brně. Organizátory byli Sdružení pěstounských rodin s Centrem pro rodinu a sociální péči Brno, Fond ohrožených dětí a zařízení Klokánek.

Engaging the first couple had been prepared in co-operation with the Care Quality Department of the organisation SOS Kinderdorf International (CQD KDI), specialists of the Association and the specialist from OSPOD (Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children) in Zlin. The foster family celebrated Christmas in the SOS Children’s Village and at present, they take full part in the life of the facility.
1.6 Participation in Specialized Seminars and Conferences In 2008, employees of the Association took part in several specialized conferences dealing with alternative care for children. The conference “Children Need Family – Innovative Approaches in the Work with Families in Danger” belonged to the most important events and took part on Mai 22nd to 23rd 2008, the organisers being the Foundation of Tereza Maxova, A Human Being Looking for Another Human Being, c. a. and Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague. In October 2008, the employees of the Association took part in the case conference “Possibilities of Individual Planning for Youth in Danger” in Otrokovice that was organised by the civil association A Human Being Looking for Another Human Being. The pedagogic counsellor of the Association held his speech in this conference presenting rich experience of the SOS Children’s Villages in working with disadvantaged children. The conference “Child in the System of Alternative Care” held on November 20th 2008 in Brno was another important event in which the employees of the Association of SOS Children’s Villages took part. It was organised by the Association of Foster Families with the Centre for Family and Social Care Brno, the Fond of Children in Danger and the facility Klokanek.

semináře „Tvorba mezinárodních standardů péče o děti“, který se uskutečnil 25. listopadu 2008 v Praze. Účastníky semináře byli pracovníci orgánů sociálně-právní ochrany dětí, zařízení pro výkon ústavní výchovy a neziskových organizací působících na poli náhradní péče o děti. Celkem se semináře zúčastnilo více než 100 účastníků. Na závěr semináře se účastníci semináře shodli na prohlášení, které adresovali všem státním institucím odpovědným za oblast náhradní péče o děti, především pak Ministerstvu práce a sociálních věcí (MPSV) a Ministerstvu školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy (MŠMT), a v němž vyzvali tyto odpovědné instituce, aby se co nejdříve zapojily do diskuse o potřebě přijetí standardů kvality v oblasti náhradní péče o děti.
The fact that the Association of SOS Children’s Villages in co-operation with the civil association A Human Being Looking for another Human Being became the direct organiser of the seminar “Creation of International Standards of Care for Children” held on November 25th 2008 in Prague, is considered an important step in the direction of establishing long-lasting contacts with experts and organisations working in the field of alternative care for children. Specialists from organs of social and legal protection of children, facilities for performing institutional education and nonprofit organisations working in the field of alternative care for children were the participants of the seminar. More than 100 participants in total took part in the seminar. At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants agreed on a proclamation that was addressed to all state institutions responsible for the sphere of alternative care for children, especially the Ministry of Labour and Social Work (MoLSW) and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), and in which they called on these responsible institutions to join the discussion about the need of accepting quality standards in the sphere of alternative care for children as soon as possible.

SOS children’s villages are recognised by law as facilities for providing foster care. Their activities are regulated by § 44 – 47 of Act No. 359/1999 Coll., on the socio-legal protection of children, as amended (hereinafter the “Socio-Legal Child Protection Act”). Provisions of § 44, paragraph 3 of the Socio-Legal Child Protection Act regulate also terms of the Agreement on providing foster care in facility, that is concluded by incorporator and foster parent. b) a specification of the lowest and highest number of children with regard to whom the foster care is to be performed in the facility so that the total number of children in the facility, including the foster parent’s children or any further children, must not exceed the number of 6 children; this number may be exceeded only if siblings are placed in care of one foster parent, or if a foster parent’s child who commenced his/her stay in the facility after the agreement had been concluded is concerned or exceptionally, due to any other cases that are worth taking special regard of (...)

3. Zprávy z jednotlivých zařízení Sdružení 3.1 SOS dětská vesnička Karlovy Vary - Doubí V letošním roce přišly do SOS dětské vesničky Karlovy Vary - Doubí dvě nové matky pěstounky. Jedna z nich přijala v červenci do předpěstounské péče tři sourozence, společně pak strávili letní prázdniny na chalupě a děti se bez problémů začlenily do kolektivu ostatních dětí ve vesničce. Druhá nově přijatá matka pěstounka na příjem nových dětí zatím čeká. V únoru začal ve vesničce pracovat nový pedagog, který se v posledním únorovém týdnu vypravil s dětmi na zimní tábor do střediska Bublava v Krušných horách, což byla pro začínajícího pedagoga velká příležitost se s dětmi vzájemně poznat. V únoru také začali do SOS dětské vesničky docházet dva mladí lidé z občanského sdružení Červený kříž. Jejich záměrem bylo děti naučit základům první pomoci, vybavit je nejen teoretickými znalostmi, ale i naučit praktickému umění pomoci zraněnému člověku. Toto snažení vyvrcholilo 18. března účastí dětí na místní soutěži hlídek mladých zdravotníků v Karlových Varech, kde se umístily na 1. místě a postoupily do krajského kola soutěže. To se konalo na konci května v Horšovském Týně a děti v něm obsadily třetí místo. V dubnu se konal již tradiční běh kolem Rolavy pro SOS dětskou vesničku, který pořádá sportovní oddíl Triatlet Karlovy Vary. Na závěr celé akce byl ředitelce SOS dětské vesničky Mgr. Sylvě Cenefelsové předán finanční dar organizátorů formou symbolického šeku. Začátkem května navštívily SOS dětskou vesničku dvě skupiny dětí z Hongkongu, které v rámci svého poznávacího zájezdu do České republiky chtěly také prakticky pomoci nějaké neziskové organizaci. Nakonec spolu s dětmi z SOS dětské vesničky uklízely hřiště a hrabaly trávu na zahradě. Kromě práce byl také čas na seznámení a společné hry, při nichž nebylo nutné řešit jazykovou bariéru mezi dětmi.

Na prvních čtrnáct dnů v srpnu vyrazily děti z SOS dětské vesničky na společný stanový tábor s chomutovskou organizací Pionýr. Hlavní náplní tábora bylo dobytí pevnosti Boyard. V rámci
3. Reports from Individual Facilities of the Association 3.1 SOS Children’s Village Karlovy Vary - Doubi Two new foster mothers entered the SOS children’s Village Karlovy Vary – Doubi this year. One of them took three siblings in her pre-foster care in July, they spend then summer holiday in a summerhouse together and the children joined the collective of other children in the village without problems. The second new foster mother is waiting for taking new children for the present. A new pedagogue started working in the village in February and left for a winter camp in the centre Bublava in Krusne hory with children that was a great opportunity for the newly employed pedagogue and the children to get to know each other. In February, two young people from the civil association Red Cross started attending the SOS Children’s Village as well. They intended to teach the children basics of first aid and to equip them not only with theoretical knowledge but also to teach them the practical art of helping an injured person. Their effort culminated on March 18th with the children participating in local competition of patrols of young health care volunteers in Karlovy Vary where they won the 1st price and continued in the regional round of the competition that was held in Horsovsky Tyn at the end of Mai and there the children placed third. In April, the already traditional run around Rolava for the SOS Children’s Village took place that is organised by the sports club Triatlet Karlovy Vary. At the end of the whole event, the director of the SOS Children’s Village Mgr. Sylva Cenefelsova was handed over a financial gift of the organisers in the form of a symbolic cheque. At the beginning of Mai, two groups of children from Hongkong visited the SOS Children’s Village who came to get to know the Czech Republic and wanted to help some non-profit organisation in practice. In the end they and children from the SOS Children’s Village were cleaning the

hlavního tématu děti musely plnit různé úkoly, při nichž se naučily spousty nových dovedností. Vedoucí byli velmi vnímaví vůči dětem a program byl dobře připraven. V září se děti spolu s matkami pěstounkami zúčastnily hudebního festivalu La-Sophia v Dolních Beřkovicích u Mělníka. Festival byl konán na podporu projektu založení hudební školy pro nadané děti ze sociálně slabých rodin a vystoupili na něm známí čeští populární umělci včetně herečky Yvety Blanarovičové, která je garantem tohoto projektu. Další významnou akcí v měsíci září byl sportovní desetiboj pořádaný společností Samsung. Záměrem této akce bylo podpořit a zviditelnit SOS dětské vesničky v ČR. Na akci byli pozváni spolužáci našich dětí ze základních škol. Nakonec se zúčastnilo kolem 500 dětí z Karlových Varů a okolí. Akci přijela podpořit naše úspěšná atletka Šárka Kašpárková. Začátkem října se podařilo rozjet plánované skupiny osobnostního rozvoje rozdělené podle věku. Na skupinách jsou s dětmi formou her, společné práce a diskuzí probírána témata jako např. sebeúcta, komunikace, asertivita dle jejich stupně zralosti. První týden v říjnu se uskutečnila víkendová akce v horském středisku Boží Dar. Na programu byly pěší výlety po okolí, v rámci kterých děti plnily různé úkoly a soutěžily v různých disciplínách. Došlo také na noční hru a noční návštěvu hřbitova pro odvážné. V listopadu nastoupila do SOS dětské vesničky na praxi nová kandidátka na matku pěstounku, která hned začala navštěvovat rodiny.
3.2 SOS dětská vesnička Brno – Medlánky V průběhu roku 2008 proběhly v SOS dětské vesničce dvě důležité personální změny. K 1. dubnu 2008 nastoupila na místo ředitelky Mgr. Marcela Troubilová a k tomuto datu byla nově obsazena i funkce vedoucího pracovníka rozvoje osobnosti dítěte Ing. Josefem Ochmanem. Personální situace v SOS dětské vesničce se tím stabilizovala a byla zahájena systematická práce ve všech oblastech života vesničky. Mezi zajímavé aktivity, které v průběhu roku ve vesničce probíhaly, určitě patří Policejní den, který se konal v měsíci květnu a v rámci kterého vesničku navštívili příslušníci různých útvarů Policie České republiky. Děti, matky i pracovníci vesničky měli možnost se velmi podrobně seznámit s činností preventivně informační skupiny správy Jihomoravského kraje, brněnské expozitury ÚOOZ, oddělení jízdní policie a dálniční policie.

Besides working there was enough time to get to know each other and to play games together during which it was not needed to deal with the language barrier between children. Children from the SOS Children’ s Village left for a tent camp together with the organisation Pionyr in Chomutov for the first fourteen days in August. Taking the fortress Boyard was the main contents of the camp. Children had to accomplish different tasks within the main subject, with which they learned many new skills. The leaders were very sensitive towards the children and the programme was prepared well. In September, children together with their foster mothers took part in the music festival LaSophia in Dolni Berkovice at Melnik. The festival was held to support the project of founding a music school for gifted children from socially week families and popular Czech artists including the actress Yveta Blanarovicova, who is the guarantee of this project, performed in it. Another important event was the sports decathlon organised by the Samsung Company in September. The purpose of the event was to support and visualize the SOS Children’s Villages in the CR. Fellow students of our children from the primary schools were invited to the event. In the end around 500 children from Karlovy Vary and neighbourhood took part. Our successful athlete Sarka Kasparkova came to support the event. In the beginning of October, we succeeded in starting the planned groups of personal development divided according to the age. Subjects as e.g. self-esteem, communication, assertivity are discussed with children in the groups in the form of games, common work and discussions according to the grade of their knowledge. First week in October, a weekend event took place in the mountain centre Bozi Dar. Hikes in surroundings constituted the programme, children were completing different tasks during them and competing in different disciplines. A night game was organised and night sightseeing of the cemetery for the courageous ones. In November, a new foster mother candidate entered practice in the SOS Children’s Village who immediately started to visit the families.
3.2 SOS Children’s Village Brno - Medlanky During the year 2008, personnel changes occurred in the SOS Children’s Village. On April 1st, 2008, Mgr. Marcela Troubilova entered the place of the director and on the same date, the post of the head specialist for child’s personality development was re-staffed by Ing. Josef

Ochman. The staffing situation in the SOS Children’s Village was stabilised with that and systematic work in all spheres of the village life began. The Police Day that was held in Mai and within which members of different units of the Police of the Czech Republic visited the village, definitely belongs to the interesting events that took place in the village during the year. Children, mothers and specialists from the village were in the position to learn the activities of the preventive and informative groups of the authorities of Jihomoravsky region, UOOZ branch office Brno, departments of mounted police and motorway police in detail. In June, thanks to Hypotecni banka, a long-time partner of SOS Children’s Villages, children could see the new-opened aqua park in Praha – Cestlice where an amusing concomitant programme within the Children’s Day was organised for them as well. A June event called the Psychologist on the move was a jolly occasion within that two groups of children under the leadership of their psychologists were comparing their powers. Children spent holidays in different camps, holiday sites and activities that had been agreed on in individual foster families. They could take part in events offered by the village during their stay in the SOS Children’s Village. Visit to Moravsky kras, different hikes or bathing belonged to them. In August, we welcomed a dear visit in our village – the Czech Miss 2008 Eliska Buckova. She visited the village within her official introduction as the face of the SOS Children’s Villages. She brought also her family cimbalom band, so that there was a lot of fun.
V červnu měly děti díky Hypoteční bance, dlouhodobému partnerovi SOS dětských vesniček, možnost navštívit nově otevřený aquapark v Praze - Čestlicích, kde pro ně byl v rámci dne dětí uspořádaný i zábavný doprovodný program. Veselou událostí byla také červnová akce nazvaná Psycholog v pohybu, v rámci které si vzájemně porovnávaly své síly dvě skupiny dětí pod vedením svých psychologů.

Prázdniny děti prožily na různých táborech, dovolených a aktivitách, na kterých se domluvily v jednotlivých pěstounských rodinách. Během pobytu v SOS dětské vesničce se mohly účastnit nabízených vesničkových aktivit. Mezi ně patřila například návštěva Moravského krasu, turistické výšlapy či koupání.
The autumn weekend event in the grounds of the School in nature Strelske Hositce is worth mentioning in which over 30 children took part. Although the autumn sun was shining quite sporadically, this kind-of raw weather did not discourage anyone of hikes and trips in the surroundings. The visit of Horazdovice where children used the occasion to have fun in the swimming pool, visit of the water castle Svihov, ascent of the view tower and tour of the catacombs in Klatovy were also interesting. In December, an annual public collection organised by the Red Cross took place in the square Namesti Svobody in Brno. SOS Children’s Village in Medlanky got one third of the yield. In this month, our children got many Christmas presents from different sponsors and givers. Thanks to them, we were also able to hand over a new fitness room to the children. The groups of personality development started working in the frame of our pedagogic activities since September, namely in following areas: sports/games, creative activities, building of models, understanding and staying in nature, Little school, K + K, where the educational programme

V srpnu jsme ve vesničce přivítali milou návštěvu – Českou Miss 2008 Elišku Bučkovou. Navštívila vesničku v rámci oficiálního představení její osoby jako tváře SOS dětských vesniček. Přivezla s sebou i rodinnou cimbálovou muziku, takže bylo veselo.

Za zmínku stojí také podzimní víkendová akce v areálu Školy v přírodě Střelské Hoštice, které se zúčastnilo přes 30 dětí. I když podzimní sluníčko svítilo již dost sporadicky, sychravější počasí nikoho neodradilo od výšlapů a výletů do okolí. Zajímavá byla návštěva Horažďovic, kde se děti vydováděly v plaveckém bazénu, návštěva vodního hradu Švihov, výstup na vyhlídkovou věž a prohlídka katakomb v Klatovech.
Communication between the specialists and the foster mothers proceeded intensively either because of solving actual problems or only in the way of informal meetings and discussions. Consultation of mothers took place each third Thursday a month where mothers together with the specialists of the SOS Children’s Village opened and discussed important subjects from all spheres of their activities. The working team co-operated closely with the representatives of the foster mothers, namely in regular meetings of the Committee of the SOS Children’s Village.
V prosinci proběhla na náměstí Svobody v Brně každoroční veřejná sbírka, kterou organizoval Červený kříž. SOS dětská vesnička v Medlánkách získala třetinu výtěžku. V tomto měsíci obdržely děti mnoho vánočních dárků od různých sponzorů a dárců. Také jejich zásluhou jsme mohli dětem předat k užívání novou posilovnu. V rámci pedagogické činnosti začaly od září nově pracovat skupiny osobnostního rozvoje, a to v následujících okruzích: sport/hry, výtvarné činnosti, modelářství, poznávání a pobyty v přírodě, Školka, K + K, kde je průběžně aplikován výchovný program. Nadále probíhalo individuální plánování rozvoje osobnosti dětí a odborné provázení rodin rodinnými poradci – psychology. Intenzívně probíhala komunikace mezi pracovníky a pěstounkami, ať již z důvodu řešení aktuálních problémů či pouze neformálních setkání a popovídání. Každý třetí čtvrtek v měsíci probíhala porada matek, na které pěstounky společně s pracovníky SOS dětské vesničky otevíraly a prodiskutovávaly důležitá témata ze všech oblastí činnosti. Pracovní tým úzce spolupracoval se zástupkyněmi pěstounek, a to na pravidelných poradách výboru SOS dětské vesničky.
3.3 SOS dětská vesnička Chvalčov Rok 2008 byl v SOS dětské vesničce Chvalčov plný personálních změn. V polovině roku skončil pracovní poměr dosavadního pedagoga Lukáše Adolfa, naštěstí se v krátké době podařilo najít kvalitní náhradu, když nový pedagog nastoupil již k 1. srpnu.

V polovině roku také přišly do SOS dětské vesničky dvě nové matky pěstounky, které předtím pracovaly v SOS dětské vesničce jako kandidátky. Jedna z těchto pěstounek pečuje o čtyři děti, druhá o tři děti. Na začátku listopadu nastoupily do SOS dětské vesničky v rámci povinné měsíční praxe dvě nové kandidátky z přípravného kurzu pro matky pěstounky. Těsně před Vánoci pak do SOS dětské vesničky nastoupil první pěstounský pár, který již má v péči tři děti. K 31. prosinci 2008 žilo v SOS dětské vesničce Chvalčov 8 pěstounů (7 matek pěstounek + pěstounský pár) pečujících o 31 dětí. Dvě z těchto dětí pobývají přes týden v Komunitě mládeže v Brně.
3.3 SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov The year 2008 was full of personnel changes in the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov. In the half of the year, current employment of the pedagogue Lukas Adolf ended, fortunately we were able to find a qualified replacement for him in short time, as the new pedagogue entered his job already on August 1st, 2008. In the half of the year also two new foster mothers came in the SOS Children’s Village who had worked there as candidates before. One of these foster mothers is caring for four children, the second one for three children. At the beginning of November, two new candidates from the preparatory course for foster mothers entered the SOS Children’s Village within their compulsory one-month practice. Just before Christmas, the first foster couple entered the SOS Children’s Village who had already had three children in their care. As of December 31st 2008, 8 foster parents (7 foster mothers + one foster couple) were living in the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov caring for 31 children. Two of these children stay in the Youth Community in Brno during the week. Extra classes and support of school preparation were secured by the pedagogues of the SOS Children’s Village and extern specialists. Working and trade circle for boys and girls was introducing different working procedures and using different tools to children. Development of talents and gifts proceeded in the form of circles. Children were learning playing guitar, flute, keyboard and percussion in the music circle. They familiarized themselves with collective ball games, climbing the artificial climbing wall in the sports circle. Attention was also paid to ideas of “sports behaviour” and “fair play”. Children learned various techniques of processing materials in the arts circle. Educational programme according to the project of Ethical education was applied by the pedagogue of the SOS Children’s Village within the frame of his pedagogic work for all age categories (pre-school children – Little school, children of school age – School children and

Doučování a podpora školní přípravy byly zajištěny pedagogy SOS dětské vesničky a externisty. Pracovně-řemeslný kroužek pro chlapce i děvčata seznamoval děti s různými pracovními postupy a zacházením s nářadím. Rozvoj talentů a nadání probíhal formou kroužků. V hudebním kroužku se děti učily hře na kytaru, flétnu, keyboard a bicí. Ve sportovním kroužku se děti seznamovaly s kolektivními míčovými hrami, lezením na umělé lezecké stěně. Pozornost byla věnována i pojmům „sportovní chování“ a „hrát fair play“. V rámci výtvarného kroužku se děti seznamovaly s nejrůznějšími technikami a zpracováním výtvarných materiálů. Pedagogem SOS dětské vesničky byl v rámci pedagogické práce pro všechny věkové kategorie (předškolní děti – Školička, školou povinní – Školáci a Pánská a Dámská jízda) aplikován výchovný program dle projektu Etické výchovy. Stejně tak probíhalo i individuální plánování rozvoje dětí zaměřené na vytipovávání a rozvoj talentů dětí, případně na pomoc při odstraňování nejrůznějších problémů. V průběhu roku bylo pro děti z SOS dětské vesničky připraveno mnoho zajímavých akcí. Za všechny připomeňme alespoň tyto:

Weekend event in Hranice at the end of November where children tried to find traces to the famous Hranicka Venus. The weekend was ´focused on sports (swimming, football, “ball-killing”, night run games) and learning of geographic and cultural places of interest in Hranice district.
Within the frame of farewell with the year 2008, a show was organised in the SOS Children’s Village in which musical performances were reigning that were interlaid by amusing games, a fashion show or performance of the group The Doors Junior.
V uplynulém roce proběhla supervize – v první části jen pro SOS matky pěstounky, v druhé části pro celý tým vesničky. Pravidelně každý měsíc se SOS matky pěstounky scházely s psychologem SOS dětské vesničky. Při setkáních se zaměřovali na řešení aktuálních problémů či různých důležitých témat z oblasti výchovy a náhradní rodinné péče. Dále proběhlo vzdělávání pěstounek účastí na semináři Agresivita dětí a přednáškový cyklus Dr. Prekopové.
3.4 Komunita mládeže Brno Během roku 2008 se tým Komunity mládeže stabilizoval. Jen kolegyně – noční pedagožka dostala příležitost studovat v zahraničí. V této souvislosti se na konci srpna do Komunity vrátila kolegyně, která je v současné době na mateřské dovolené, a začala v Komunitě působit jako noční pedagog. Na konci roku 2008 tak v Komunitě pracovali vedoucí, 2 pedagogové-průvodci a 2 pedagogové na noční služby.

Od ledna do října 2008 bydlelo v Komunitě mládeže 5 mladých lidí ve věku 16 – 20 let. Na podzim jedna slečna, která ukončila své vzdělávání, přešla do Programu polozávislého bydlení. Kromě
There was a supervision organised in the last year – only for the SOS foster mothers in the first part and for the whole team of the village in the second part. Foster mothers met the psychologist of the SOS Children’s Village regularly each month. They concentrated on solving actual problems or different important subjects from the sphere of education and alternative family care during their meetings. Further education of foster mothers took place in the form of participation in the seminar Children’s Aggression and a lecture cycle of Dr. Prekopova.

této slečny s Komunitou mládeže spolupracovali v rámci Programu polozávislého bydlení v roce 2008 jeden mladý muž a další 4 slečny, z toho jedna mladá maminka s pětiletým synem. Všichni již bydlí mimo Komunitu.
V Programu polozávislého bydlení jsou ještě 3 studentky, zbytek mladých lidí již pracuje.
During 2008, the team of the Youth Community stabilised. Only our colleague, the night pedagogue, used the possibility to study abroad. In this context a colleague returned back to the Community who is at her maternity leave at present and she has started working as the night pedagogue in the Community since the end of August. Thus, at the end of 2008, there were the head, 2 pedagogues-guides and 2 pedagogues in the night duty working in the Youth Community.
Z hlediska studia byl tento rok velmi významný a o to náročnější, neboť byl ve znamení přijímacích řízení na nové školy a řádném ukončování středoškolského studia. Dva noví obyvatelé Komunity mládeže zahájili v září tohoto roku studium na nových školách. Mladý muž přestoupil na střední odbornou školu obor informatika. Jedna mladá slečna na střední odborné učiliště obor kuchařka. Stejný obor v září 2008 úspěšně ukončila slečna, která dostala příležitost roční odborné stáže v Praze.
From January till October 2008, there were 5 young people living in the Youth Community in the age 16 – 20 years. One young lady who had finished her education moved to the Programme of Semi-independent Housing in autumn. Beside this young lady, one young man and 4 other young ladies, one of them a young mother with a five year old son, were co-operating with the Youth Community within the frame of the Programme of Semi-independent Housing during 2008. They all live outside the Community now.
Mezi zajímavé akce, které obyvatelé Komunity mládeže v průběhu roku 2008 prožili, patří lyžařský pobyt na horách. V letošním roce bylo zvoleno osvědčené lyžařské středisko Ramzová v Jeseníkách s bydlením na horské chatě Šerák. V době pobytu vyšly dokonalé podmínky na lyžování a díky velkému množství sněhu si všichni dobře zalyžovali. Kromě toho také podnikli horskou túru a společně trávené podvečery plné her a ztřeštěných nápadů byly milým a příjemným doplněním celé akce.
During 2008, one young lady moved form the primary school to the professional apprentice training, one young man to secondary professional school and another young lady continues her studies in the apprentice training centre. The year 2008 meant the end of education for two young ladies from the Community.
Během roku 2008 přešla jedna slečna ze základní školy na odborné učiliště, jeden mladý muž na střední odbornou školu, další slečna pokračuje ve studiu na odborném učilišti. Pro dvě slečny z Komunity znamenal rok 2008 ukončení vzdělání.
V dubnu pokračovala spolupráce se Soukromou vyšší odbornou školou sociální v Jihlavě na projektu „Dlouhodobáčci“. Jedná se o projekt zaměřený na děti a dospívající, kteří jsou handicapováni tělesně, mentálně, sociálně, nebo mají různé kombinace postižení. V Komunitě mládeže proběhla přednáška s prezentací. Tu vedly studentky druhého ročníku vyšší odborné školy, které jako asistenti mají na starosti různě handicapované děti či mladé lidi z projektu. Pro obyvatele Komunity mládeže si studentky se svojí vyučující připravily ukázku a povídání o jednotlivých postiženích, se kterými se můžou setkat. Na názorných příkladech, které jsme si sami vyzkoušeli, nám ukázaly jak komunikovat s handicapovanými. Na konci května se klienti Komunity mládeže aktivně zapojili do pražské části celorepublikové akce s názvem Bambiriáda. Jejich účast měla podobu tanečního vystoupení v Praze na Střeleckém ostrově. O spolupráci byly požádány i starší slečny z SOS dětské vesničky Chvalčov. Víkend byl pak kromě samotného uměleckého vystoupení ve znamení pobytu v Praze a poznávání jejích krás.

3.4 Youth Community Brno
Podzim roku 2008 byl plný různých vzdělávacích akcí, z nichž některých se klienti a pedagogové Komunity i aktivně účastnili. V říjnu se tak vedoucí Komunity mládeže aktivně zapojila do
There are three more students in the Programme of Semi-independent Housing, the rest of the young people are already working. This year was quite important from the point of view of studies and quite demanding as well. The year in the Community was in token of the enrol proceedings in new schools and regular graduating in secondary schools. Two new inhabitants of the Youth Community started their studies in new schools in September of this year. A young man moved to the secondary professional school with the specialization on IT. One young lady started her professional training in the cook apprenticeship. Another young lady finished this training successfully in September 2008 and she was offered one-year trainee-ship in Prague. A winter skiing stay in mountains belongs to the interesting events that the inhabitants of the Youth Community experienced during 2008. A well-tried winter skiing centre Ramzova in Jeseniky Mountains with accommodation in the chalet Serak was chosen this year. There were ideal skiing conditions during the common winter stay there. All enjoyed skiing very much thanks to the snow conditions. They also took a hike in the mountains and the early evenings full of games and foolish ideas spent together were a nice and pleasant complementation of the whole event.

Případové konference v Otrokovicích. V listopadu byli obyvatelé a pracovníci Komunity mládeže účastníky semináře Tvorba mezinárodních standardů péče o děti. Na závěr roku proběhl v Komunitě víkend na téma „Sebeúcta aneb Řekni to přímo“. Byly pozvány i starší děti (od 15 let) z SOS dětských vesniček Brno – Medlánky a Chvalčov. Sebeúcta (jak si člověk váží sám sebe) je program na posílení psychického zdraví lidí všech věkových skupin. Program podporuje přímou komunikaci s cílem zvyšování sebedůvěry a sebeúcty, zodpovědnosti za sebe, schopnosti vciťování se do druhých lidí a schopnosti odmítnout. Tradiční „Ježišou“ proběhla poslední pátek před Vánoci. Celý vánoční večírek měli v režii obyvatelé Komunity mládeže. Vytvořili krásnou a chutnou „štědrovečerní“ tabuli a jejich zásluhou vznikla v Komunitě příjemná předvánoční nálada a zábava.
In April, co-operation with the Private Higher Professional Social School in Jihlava on the project “The long-timers” continued. This project is focused on children and teenagers who are physically, mentally, socially disabled or have different combinations of their handicaps. A lecture and presentation took part in the Youth Community. It was managed by the students of the second year of the higher professional school, who care for different disabled children or young people from the project as assistants. The students together with their teacher prepared a demonstration and discussion about different handicaps with which they meet for the inhabitants of the Youth Community and they showed us how to communicate with disabled people in demonstrations that we could try ourselves. At the end of Mai, clients of the Youth Community took an active part in the Prague part of the all-republic event called Bambiriada. Their participation was in form of a dancing show in the Strelecky Ostrov in Prague. Female youngsters from the SOS Children’s Village Chvalcov were asked to co-operate as well. Beside the artistic performance itself, they spent the weekend in token of the stay in Prague and learning her beauties. The Autumn 2008 was full of different educational events, in some of them the clients and pedagogues from the Community took an active part. In October, the head of the Youth Community participated actively in the Case Conference in Otrokovice. In November, the inhabitants and specialists from the Youth Community took part in the seminar Creating International Standards of Care for Children. At the end of the year, a weekend with the subject “Self-esteem or Say it Directly” took place in the Youth Community. Also older children (over 15 years) from Children’s Villages Brno – Medlanky and Chvalcov were invited. Self-esteem (how a person respects himself or herself) is a programme focused on strengthening mental health of people in all age groups. The programme supports direct communication with the aim of increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, responsibility for oneself, ability of empathizing with other people and ability to refuse. Traditional “Jezisou” (Christshow) took place on the last Friday before Christmas. The inhabitants of the Youth Community arranged the whole Christmas party. They created a wonderful and tasteful “Christmas Eve” table and a pleasant advent mood and entertainment arose in the Community thanks to them.
